Title: Merit - a problem or solution for the bitcointalk community ?
Post by: Nafis1997 on July 20, 2018, 04:39:42 PM
Merit - a problem or solution for the bitcointalk community ? I just want to Express my opinion . I think that without the Merit system it was much easier to pump . to achieve a high rank . and it's easy to make money on signatures. However, Smart people came up with Merit . It's like natural selection ) is strong . useful users .will be appreciated more .after all, they will receive merit . What about us ? ordinary people who want to increase their rank . And earn as well !  I just want to say let's be generous . and share with each other ) and then all of us will be good !)

Exactly! This is the main reason to bring merit on the table. Isn't it working fine now? One can be proud of telling the story that they became Legendary even after an evil like merit was invented by theymos  :P

Before merit, the forum was boring (My honest feedback).

It's threads like this that make me think that juniors should be banned from this board.

Anyway, I put the op on ignore for polluting a mildly decent board with another boring meit thread.

OP, you're going on ignore for starting a thread in Meta that's an obvious merit-grabbing attempt.  The reason it's obvious is because you're taking a position that you know most senior members (and merit sources) agree with--in addition to:
I just want to say let's be generous . and share with each other ) and then all of us will be good !)
which is another way of saying "give me some merits".

You're obviously writing in a language you have no proficiency in, and you'd need to seriously step it up in order to have your posts stand out from the rest of the crap here.

Be realistic.  Do you think you're going to earn enough merit to rank up?  Even if you did manage to make it to Member, do you think you're going to get any further?  Most people looking at what you wrote here can tell what your priorities are--ranking up in order to earn more through spam campaigns--and there aren't many who support that, certainly not senior members who've seen how bad bitcointalk has gotten because of it.

I haven't seen many members who write like you do advancing in rank.  There are just way too many of them and not enough merits to go around.  Your post here is what happens when members start recommending shit like
Try to be more active in meta section (and answering questions asked by other members) .
It's obvious that noob shitposters are doing it, which is why their not-so-veiled merit begging attempts usually don't work.

I think merit is doing its job well. Before joining BCT, I learned a bit about the merit and how it works. Unlike any other reward system, it helps to classify members in an easy way. You only get merit when do something is really worth it. I really don't think it's a problem. But I think the real problem here is taking the time to gain rankings in BCT. I think it should take more time before you reach a new rank!

If only the merit owners are not stingy to share the merit would be very helpful to the new members. there are a lot of good post and new members are very difficult to compete with old members.

I know that merit system can reduce cheating and spammers, but please do not be too stingy giving merit to thread beginners like me and them.

Merit is the good regulation that implemented by our admin in the forum but I think merit is too hard to gain for the newbies due of newbies are beginners and also jr. members are beginners too. I think that merit is not a better solution for spammers in this forum.
