Title: Same address question
Post by: Cosette on July 21, 2018, 03:13:46 AM
I want to ask something, i read some of connected account or something like abusing bounty or signature campaign(if im not wrong) they connected with same address. But lets say me or some random people or some trusted member in here posting his or her address publicly and then some random bounty or signature campaign spammer copy paste our address to their daily report or something like that and we dont know who the hell is it that use our address. will he or she and me get tagged by trusted member because connected account and abusing bounty or we need more proof or evidence?
I just asking because i want to open my service in here and of course address probably posted in public and i dont want some random people using my address in their bounty report and bring red paint to my profile for abusing bounty

If you could prove that the actual address is yours then you could  Report the one who copied your address and it would be easier if you staked your address here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

This doesn't have anything to do with OP's concern.

OP: Sadly, I think you would be tagged. Which is why I don't think this is enough evidence to "connect" two accounts to one person. Anyways, most of the time no one is going to "work" for you by doing bounties so you can get a negative tag, which is why most of the time the user accused is really abusing bounties.

You no need to worry,I think.Because I read that having multiple account is okay and joining with those accounts in different campaigns are allowed, the only problem will be if same address given by two different accounts on the same bounty will create an issues.

But I doubt that why someone will work on his own and give his reward to you? ???

If you're offering a "service" and not simply participating in campaigns, I don't see how you could run into trouble. For starters, you're not likely to end up in the same campaign as anyone dumb enough to use your address... and secondly, why would anyone use your address in the first place??!? ??? That means they would do all the work and you'd get paid! :P

Note that having multiple accounts is not forbidden... it's just that most campaigns do not allow a person to enroll multiple accounts in the same campaign.

Good question.
For example if random people or people that really hate you so much copy paste your address that you use for join signature campaign and he join another campaign or bounty with a lot of account and then people report if you use the same address with people that use your address and get evidence for try to cheat bounty campaign, will you get instant tagged?
This people that use your address will try to make you got red tagged as much as he can because he hate you because you report them before in the past.

I mean this people just use our address to ruin our reputation because he hate us and doesn't mean he want you to get paid and if i run my service and that people use to ruin my reputation that will be bad.

sorry if this too hard to understand, i try to explain it as good as i can.

I dont plan to join bounty or signature campaign, i have main job and i cant online everyday because busy in real life for now. But i want offering service for part time job and earn extra income for it. Thats why i asked it.

You'll sign with your address and ask the other user to sign from the same address, if they failed to sign from your address it means they are not in control of your address and they would get tagged while you'll get no tag.

This can be easily misused. If alt accounts are caught using the same address, they can just say that one of their alt accounts is impersonating them and can atleast save one account in the process by using another one as a bait.

So the one and only option is get tagged? Even thats not our fault? Thats pretty bad.

No. Not exactly. It's entirely subjective, and is determined by each case scenario. If you have enough proof to prove that only you control it, you won't be tagged. Or if you're tagged wrongly, your tag might be removed.

Staking the address could help, certainly can't hurt.

I think only the dumbest bounty cheaters would be reusing Bitcoin addresses so it wouldn't make sense for someone to be smart enough to stake an address AND dumb enough to cheat bounties with it.
