Updating is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Do not run any pre-1.5 version of Dogecoin, as you may end up on the incorrect fork

I downloaded a zipped DOGE blockchain from the link below in mid January, but never used it.

http://doge.rstreefland.com/

Would I run into problems using this blockchain with the new wallet by starting it from the command line with the -reindex flag?

The website said it would be offline for a few weeks while DOGE is forked. The official DOGE reddit used to link to that site for people who found the blockchain took too long to download through the wallet.

The link below explains how you used to be able to download the blockchain from rstreefland.com, then drop the files into your DOGE wallet. The wallet would find the blockchain when it opened and would then be almost up to date.

I already downloaded the DOGE blockchain from rstreefland.com before the website went offline. I have already downloaded the latest wallet from the original website. I was just wondering if there would be any problems using the blockchain I downloaded from rstreefland.com as the reddit described.

I just asked on the DOGE reddit.

You can read any replies to my reddit post at the link below.
