Title: How are all the Crypto Websites created?
Post by: ra213 on July 23, 2018, 05:36:37 AM
There are so many altcoins and everyone has their own website, which are set up pretty fast. So, I assume there is an easy or cheap way to achieve this.

* Are the sites just CMS?
* Where do they get the sites? They look all similar, so where do I find the crypto website store  ;)

They probably buy a cheap theme and use it for their website.

Here are a few examples: https://themeforest.net/search/ico

There are many dope professional templates for just $15 ~ $60, which is cheap as heck if you consider how much they can get by hosting a ICO.

Not all of them, but pretty much majority using wordpress. In ThemeForest theme devs making theme templates specifically for crypto/blockchain/ico sites. There is one example https://themeforest.net/item/icos-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency-wordpress-theme/21626006 (https://themeforest.net/item/icos-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency-wordpress-theme/21626006) and I've seen quite a lot of similar sites with this theme, and there are much more themes.

As of making a website, it's pretty fast with WordPress, at least what majority do, buy the theme, install page builder, some plugins and you a ready to go. Usually to build fully functional page if you have all content, takes few days.

Not 100% of the coins/tokens use CMSs, buy yea, most of them do as it's definitely a lot easier and CMSs require little to no coding.

There are lots of pre-made themes for ICOs, airdrops and such.

I think your greatest problem could be the name. So many coins have been created, tht it's difficult to think of a new name, and to get a .com domain to go with it. For example, I've just bought ERC20coin.com, and that seems to have had toxic associations in the recent past. There is even a Youtube video about "ERC20 coin" being a scam coin. Any expired or dropped name is likely to have been misused in the past, and you don't want to start off with bad associations.

Mostly ICO projects are using .io domains, .com aren't used very often. But yeah, there are so many projects already created, so it can be difficult to get decent name without dark history.

Yea this. Even though .com domain usually looks more legit for the laypeople, crypto projects have been using other domains for some time now. .net, .io, .org, .network, .co, .cash, and many other. So yea, their options are getting wider. Technically the domain TLDs doesn't mean crap anyway, using the good TLDs just simply looks more legit.

Really useful feedback, thank you.

Searched for a few names today and it's really not easy to find one.

Most crypto websites are simply created with Wordpress. Wordpress comes with a lot of default themes, templates etc. In fact, there are people who sell crypto templates for Wordpress.

It is easier to create a static site using Wordpress template than a full fledged CMS. In this day and age, one can get away with a static site because you can use third party sites for dynamic content. For example, Disqus for user forums.
