The day will surely come, looking at how widespread cryptocurrencies is flying lately, the future looks bright. With the introduction of ATMs that supports bitcoin in Belgium, I am looking forward to hearing the great news when bitcoin will be accepted in banks.

banks accepting bitcoin is not such a great news though! it can even be a terrible news if you ask me. because if banks start accepting bitcoin, open bitcoin "accounts" and things like that, it may encourage people to start using banks instead of avoiding them and having their own bitcoin wallet. and that is terrible because they would be going back to the centralization that were trying to get rid of.

Think about it. What's the point of 'being your own bank' if you're going to leave your bitcoin in banks anyway? Might be quite counter intuitive you think?

In my country so many banks was run by the governments ,they just a punch of "steal money of the people" guys  :(.

Just like other businesses are focus on bitcoin acceptance soon the day will come and we will hear that bitcoin is now accepted in our country Now many businesses are using it and soon banks will focus on it's use. And also the crypto market is rising to a good move so it is good to invest in it now for bright future.

In my country in asia, 1 bank announces that they going to accept cryptocurrency as payment. And in fact  as I read on that article they are  going to have their own blockchain. And I hope all bank will accept bitcoin worldwide but I think it will not happen because of government involvement.

Not all banks are doing it, most banks are afraid with bitcoin popularity.

The reason why most banks won't accept bitcoin is because of its volatility in value. Maybe when time comes that bitcoin's value will be more stable then that's the time that mos of the banks all over the world will accept bitcoin.

Absolutely I agree. They will try to prevent this system up to one time. But after a while, they will have to accept. Especially when blockchain technology is being developed by people so much ...

The banks will have no choice just like the postal service had no choice with the development of the internet and email. They must come to terms with the new technology or be forced to close their doors. That being said, the whole idea of blockchain is an anonymous peer 2 peer system which a bank cannot in all seriousness willingly embrace.

Pressure is rising between banks and cryptocurrency and I know banks already know the possible things to happen in the future if they don't adopt this technology. Banks will become more open about cryptocurrency and I know time will come for this. If banks support this, I would still choose my crypto wallet and manage my fund on my own, I don't trust bank anymore.

If we believe that Bitcoin is the future currency then we also believe that it will be soon be accepted in banks. But that will take a long time I guess because now some country's government still not open to be part of the technology evolution. I think it's already in process to some countries who already accepted it.

I honestly can say that it is possible for every country. Here in the Philippines, Banks are the first ones who accepted bitcoins specifically BSP. Now we can transact through remittances but until now there are limited stores or the stores that actually accepts bitcoins as payment can be counted with fingers only.

Bitcoin created to destroy the centralized system which literally means banks then why should they accept bitcoin?

Even if they open services regarding storing the bitcoin we should avoid them because we will lose the freedom of using our money again and someone will take control over our money so it is not a good thing to happen though.

Having bitcoin ATM's in place and functional doesn't mean that banks will be accepting the bitcoin soon. Those are two different things. There are many internal agendas which needs to be fulfilled first so that one can actually see both the dots connecting with each other. Both dots means, bitcoin/blockchain and also banking system which runs over the traditional swift technology. Its not like fruit market, you went for shopping and picked up anything you want, its very complex system to bring onto same page and work together. May be there is still time, banks and bitcoins will have to wait more.

Banks will not "accept" Bitcoin, they will sub-contract someone to develop their own in-house private Blockchain technology, like R3 group did with Mike Hearn and they will become Bitcoin's competition. They are not innovative enough to develop their own technology, they have to steal Satoshi's concept.  >:(

You are absolutely right. Bank accepting bitcoin payment is not a good news at all. It will be a ploy to take us back to centralization that we wanted to avoid.

I don't understand what is a great thing if a bank accept bitcoin? It won't have any changes in the market condition you can store your bitcoins into banks's wallet but probably there is no need to do that.

I really like the current Bitcoin method without anyone else dealing with my money and making me comfortable, it's not all banks that are cunning, but that is not true because Bitcoin decentralizes all my money and I can control it, don't want them to deal until to my personal things, banks to accept Bitcoin because there is no other way if they don't accept it, maybe in the future it won't be as popular as now and they think they want to use us.

This is the main concept of this technology, to make a decentralized system and destroy the old banking system but I think we still need bank for some transactions so if they also adopt the system its ok for me to try it as long as I control my money. Its not worth it to put your money in the banks, so invest it and have transactions with the banks for a loan processes.

I agree this kind of question that soon more banking institutions accepts bitcoin or any other bitcoin transaction, and as far as I know that a lots of banking institutions now who observes and study about cryprocurrency business most especially bitcoin as the king of all cryptocurrency coin. We need the banks only to convert our crypto currency into fiat money but if we adopt to the new decentralized crypto system we don't need the banks anymore we can spend our bitcoin directly into the stores at that time.Getting loan from the bank and bank accept bitcoin both are different?

Good news and this make transaction as simple at it could be. I would very much happy if this development extend to my home country to further create awareness to the people who are still behind. Surely one day banks all over the world would accept bitcoin because its stability so far.

Some countries and banks have already accepted bitcoin, it is just a matter of time when it will be accepted worldwide. For example even on some forex trading platforms you can already see pairs BTC/USD or EOS/USD so that is really a good sign for crypto world.

If ever that day comes that Banks will start accepting Bitcoin, I don't think hodlers will not use their services and will remain storing their Bitcoins in wallets. banks will surely require depositors identification cards just like the requirements for opening an account in traditional banking and this process is frowned upon in the Cryptocurrency community.

I don't think it's a good news to me. It's like voluntarily going to jail. We're already free with bitcoin. Why would i go back to become a prisoner of this centralized banks. The good news that I'm waiting for is when all banks shut down and become decentralized. And this could be an impossible dream for now.

Few banks are already offering Custody Service as Korean Shinhan Bank - so, banks will jump into Bitcoin as soon as they get green light from the government.

The adoption of Bank cryptocurrency for transactions, payments and settlements seriously undermine the current banking system. it will just make them almost unnecessary. I think the banks will change over time under the new payment system in order not to remain idle.

The future is leaning towards to this technology improvement. There are a lot of things that will be developed using this technology, it just need an improvement, something that can make a lot of people use Bitcoin without thinking of anything else but the good and efficiency of their transactions and maybe their payments. There's always a right time for a thing to happen and in the case of banks accepting the bitcoin well we will experience that soon. Yes i read here about Korean bank accepted crypto currency and if other bank also except than it would be better for both parties surely the day will come banks accept crypto currency as bitcoin.

At least in the case of full recognition by banks of bitcoins, people will be able to legally conduct operations to convert BTC into a currency. I think that it will be going faster and faster, there must be a bank that will make crypto 100% legal and it will allow their users to make transactions in crypto and others will just follow that.

Is not only in Belgium bitcoin accepted also in Germany many banks in other countries support bitcoin like Estonia, United States of America,  England , Canada so i think is a question of time to be accepted in banks of all countries of the world

From the point of view of the possibility of receiving high profits, bitcoin may indeed be of interest to banks, but from the point of view of risks it is not very attractive, because banks risk the money of their depositors and should minimize the possibility of financial losses.

Bitcoin will not be accepted directly by banks for a sheer amount of reasons. Believing so is nothing more than a pipe dream. There are so many convenient ways to exchange crypto for fiat nowadays around the world without the need for a traditional bank. As a matter of fact, banks even frown upon transactions coming from or going to crypto exchanges so the possibility for them accepting Bitcoin naturally is close to zero.

They don't really need the crypto currencies on the banks, they might accept it but I do not know the reason. Bitcoin is a decentralized crypto currency and you don't a third party to keep or secure your Bitcoins and other crypto currencies since you can do it yourself. Banks in the future might use the technology of these crypto currencies so they will be able to develop their technologies or security.

i am rather waiting and expecting the day bitcoin will be accepted by big malls and glossary shops for   shopping. this is what will attract mass adoption of cryptocurrencies and add value to cryptoworld in general its not about bank accepting  bitcoin , to me its no goodness.

Banks may accept bitcoin as deposits. But they may do so under a certain clause which may not favour the bitcoin owner. I don't really think you need a bank to keep your money for you when you are your own bank through crypto and blockchain.

I don't see this isn't going to happen as the government of US had already started collecting tax from bitcoin holders. IF they did that I think banks can also do something with BTC. Although SEC may really not approve it being ETF, its not going to stop government from collecting taxes. Banks will probably offer storage for it, its not the best solution compare to having private keys but it can be a good option for those individuals who wants to share their btc to their love ones.

Honestly this is for me one the most sure question in crypto in the next months/years. Yes banks will accept it as market is growing with more and more people interested and investing in it.

they will want also to catch the potential and earn money, directly by trading by their own but also by proposing services with fees for people who want to invest without doing anything.

I think that is not very easy to do, because banks have their own rules for managing finances. Bitcoin must have clear legality beforehand to be able to achieve that, and again many considerations must be taken by the bank before it happens, for example, fluctuations that are very unstable, the status of bitcoin is not clear at this time.

There is no need for banks to accept Bitcoin, if you notice, banks only accepting 1 form of currency at a time unless you're doing foreign exchange, I don't think the day will ever come where you are able to create a bank account and store bitcoin in that account, it might be used for forex purposes but that's about it.

I think that the potential for them to accept blockchain technology is much more likely, such as IBM hyperledger as I've seen a few banks working with this now, but Bitcoin is quite unlikely in my opinion.

banks accepting bitcoin is not a good news. bitcoin is about open financial system with no middlemen. Banks will not get paid much if they go about supporting bitcoin or other altcoins. rather they will push the system to remove bitcoins or else come out with their own blockchain.

Banks will accept the blockchain, but I think officially most of them will not accept bitcoin ever. It's too big a risk for them.

Banking has being with humans since ancient times, many people keep their hard earned money in banks for safe keeping and mostly to earn interest on the money they safe. Buddy I am fully in support of your point. Some people uses different sight to view thing, but I strictly support the way you the topic. For bank to support bitcoin might be a great calamity tk bitcoin. The decentralised nature we enjoy in bitcoin will be eliminated and it will affect those that chooses it as a mean of survivor.

this will be very difficult in the sense that different countries have different rules and regulation about legal tender. before digital currencies such as bitcoin can be accepted it need to be regulated. many country that have banned it did that because they do not know how effective it will be to regulate the currencies. banks and other fintech company are not smiling when they hear about bitcoin because they consider it as a threat to their exisistence so why will they allow it.

bitcoin ATM's are introduced in 2010 and they work really well. But in do not personally think any banks are even thinking about the features bitcoin can provide all the see is bitcoin will completely cut their existence if everyone starts using cryptocurrency. banks and cryptocurrency both are needed and they both will always be competitors but still, at least each person is getting both the services.

I have been considering the fact that when all banks accept btc it will really go for the btc market and we in the BTC ecosystem will now have a good money in our accounts.   

With time all the banks will start accepting bitcoin, because almost all the banks are watching bitcoin and studying it to truly understand it before investing in it.

If all countries follow this example, the world would become much more easier. Imagine if we had ATM for Bitcoin everywhere. Even when we re traveling, we won't have the limitation of taking a certain amount of money out of the country. We can cash any amount from anywhere in the world. I think there are already countries wherein their banks have been accepting bitcoin already.But for me,i'm not really looking forward for it to happen since the blockchain itself is already a digital bank.We already have our own wallet with our private keys so banks would still be useless because most of our money are already secured in our own wallets.Let's just keep its security as always.

I think the days that banks will accept cryptocurrencies is already here. There is even a robust successful ICO (eCoinomic) that I know that is offerring banking services in the cyrptocurrency domain. IU think the success of tis platform will force banks to oblige. I don't think that banks will accept Bitcoin as the currency and assets of everyone. Because what I know, that the bank is the biggest competitor of cryptocurrency. I am sure, the bank wants to eliminate cryptocurrencies from this world.

surely this day will come very soon! in many countries this day has already come, this is the future of new technologies and we can not escape from this anywhere.

That is our greatest hope. If if could happen sooner, the better. Bitcoin user need the banks to flourish, they have been the greatest enemy of cryptocurrencies for quite a long time.

Well this is WORLD nothing is impossible under the earth surface.  Perhaps, I can't argue your comment because this world is run by human beings in that we can wake up tomorrow and news will broke out one particular bank is accepting bitcoin while other banks might follow suit afterwards.

Yes, it would be great if banks accept bitcoin near future. Already there are some ATMs has been installed for the transaction bitcoins it is really helpful for the bitcoin users. Hopefully, very soon bitcoin will be accepted by banks.

This is to make banks more wider in operations to serve the people better business world. This is also the step to make crypto as one of the biggest new trend of business transactions in single and multiple per second.

Banks are guided by regulations, if there's a complete regulation then I think it's possible and will happen.
For now, let's stick with the old method but let's appreciate the improvement in crypto as there are big players in the market who are getting on board now.

In my opinion, the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency by banks will mainly consist in services for exchanging cryptocurrency for fiat and vice versa. And then, this will happen only when the states legalize cryptocurrency and banks receive detailed instructions on the use of cryptocurrency.
I see no reason why banks open a cryptocurrency account. It will be very risky to give out loans in banks for cryptocurrency. In any case, I think that state banks will not do this. Commercial banks may risk, but this service is unlikely to be widespread.

I just can't wait for this day to arrive. Been hoping for it.  :)

I don't think so about this. Any transaction that you're going to undergo with BANKS has HIGH transaction fees.

in my opinion the bank should open up and work with bitcoin for a long time because of what? so that human life is easy is not complicated because humans now need very much money in their lives is very unfortunate if bitcoin does not work with the bank. the bank must act!

This is very likely to happen someday, we know that there has been news that if the bank will release crypto itself, if they involve bitcoin in it, it is very likely that we will see a lot of news informing many banks that have accepted bitcoin. So as time goes on, I hope Bitcoin will continue to be on a positive track so that the growth of Bitcoin will continue to improve in the future.

Why not ? Infact it is already happening before . one example is on our country most banks here were already partnered with bitcoin and for sure that is also happening on other countries as long as the country is not restricting or banning the use of cryptos .


That depend on every bank . some bank only charge a cheap fee for every transaction while some will depend on the amount that you  transact   but i dont know in the future , maybe banks will be basing their fees thru the recomended fees for bitcoin transactions .

Not introducing from belgium. United States is the highest ATM locations country and i think firstly started in this country. Australia,Canada,Spain,Russia,Switzerland and many countries are highest Bitcoin ATM's adopted. In those most of the countries bank's accepting bitcoin.

Currently, there are still a lot of countries not accept bitcoin :( :( They still want to create their own crypto currency. No sure when banks can accept bitcoin, but at first, the government should admit bitcoin is legal and can be transaction as currency. :)

It is possible that in the future the Bank will dare to accept cryptocurrency, and in particular, bitcoin. But I do not see much point in this, because bitcoin may well function outside the banking system.

Western Union already tested the XRP blockchain for faster,cheap and smooth transactions. Samsung already reserved the digital domens for their own benefits. Banks system is broken and it will explode one day. Cryptocurrencies is looking like alternative but even bitcoin can't meet requirements of current system.

this is correct, a day will come when banks will accept bitcoin and i believe the time is close. bitcoin is getting stronger and even though price maybe down now, people are adopting and accepting its use on a daily basis.

I so much look forward to this day that banks will accept cryptocurrency fully. Because a lot of bankers ND stake holders are partially involved in crypto and are yet to publicise it.  The day it's legally accepted will be another milestone covered  in the journey of crypto

Bitcoin is really trending and despite several dip since the start of 2018 irrespective of that bitcoin fraternity keeps on growing daily and new innovative for bitcoin. Won't be surprise to see banks accepting bitcoins because every good thing will always attract people. But we can grow better without banks else we will come back to square one as we see national currencies.

It is true that one day the banks will surely accept and adopt the cryptocurrency, because the bank owner understand that this is business ,and when time comes that the cryptocurrency will be popular and fully adopted and sccepted worldwide so the banks will go for it because ,the clients are going into cryptocurrency time.

Crypto currency is created by using advances in technology and time and the possibility that in the future crypto currencies will be accepted by banks if all countries accept and legalize the European currency as the applicable currency.

Right.As bitcoin increases its popularity in the days to come,then it would be very possible that the government will soon to adopt and legalize it and surely,banks will be allowed already to accept bitcoins for deposits or even bill payments.I know it will create better transactions in a bank and people will find it more convenient concerning bitcoin transactions.

In due time, Bitcoin will be accepted globally and the financial community will embrase the crypto digital transaction into the main stream market. Once the issue on Regulation are resolved, i am more positive that little by little different bank will be using the Blockchain system and integration to adopt Bitcoin in the future banking system.

Already there are few banks that have been operating completely on bitcoin. One such bank is the Nova Scotia located in Austria. Banks have feared about the tremendous growth in the past year and made oppositions through different ways. Slowly banking networks have begun to invest on bitcoin indirectly. Soon we can see more countries with banks operating only with cryptocurrencies.

Banks generally don’t like decentralizes currency like Bitcoin, but as a store of wealth Bitcoins will over time be accepted as a security when you want a fiat loan. I can’t really see any needs for a savings account in Bitcoins unless you’re afraid to hold your own private keys.

The cryptocurrrencies showed us that we don't need banks to manage our money, our investments. It showed us that we can manage our own investments, transact and receive on our own. Basically, banks do not fight Bitcoin, the cryptocurrencies are surely improving or developing but that is also being used by the banks to improve their transactions.

Most banks in my country currently working on accepting bitcoin already and I believe before the end of this year some positive news will surface

yes, sooner or later at the end the bank will adopt bitcoin, because the bank cannot deny the fact that so many people use Bitcoin, if the bank ignores it they will have problems.

From the look of things its quite obvious that banks will intergrate or adopt bitcoin into their system although its maybe optional while its technology which is blockchain might be a threat to their monetary operations nevertheless when it becomes obvious that a lot of investors are diversifying portfolio into bitcoin hence the bank will see the need to start accepting bitcoin.
