After a long period of dependency we see now that the bitcoin rise alone and other major altcoins are down or stay at their price...what do you think about that

I think not from from now the altcoin will also rise. I see that the bitcoin price rise and I believe that it will be the start of the pumping stage, because we are now have a verry few months to tear 2019. Maybe the expert speculation occur this next few months. It will maybe continue rising till the end of the year followed buy altcoin.

Well ... I do not agree with this. Maybe in some specific days or slightly longer periods of time so it can be. However, now for a long period of time it can be noticed that the other altcoyins almost always depend directly on the cost of bitcoin ... so that the altcoyins will for the time being follow bitcoin in their price fluctuations

This is just a little truth about altcoins, unlike BITCOIN, it maybe volatile but the fact that it will not disappear just like a bubble, the altcoins are in the verge of that certain fact.

Many can't see these things coming as long as they can gather enough tokens from the airdrops that they're joining in and soon enough they are about to hold it believing that it will surely pump up like the others.

If you're really into bitcoin, it's really good. But to the altcoins, well, it's part of the way it's supposed to work. Just like bitcoin, which experienced it's downfall since last December 2017.

It's a big No,  because as I observed bitcoin and altcoin is not a competitor they just like a team. They are all digital money currency. Although they have different in price level but their functions are  the same.

   Just wait market just starting to rise and altcoins will also rise soon. Slightly but surely market will continue recovering from falling and that is not bitcoin alone but altcoins also or the whole ctypto market. We will become happy soon that we see market back to green field.

I think the altcoins will fall even further as Bitcoin spikes up more and more, we might not see any significant green day for altcoins until late August.
The reason being all eyes are on Bitcoin atm as we approach more and more in the final ETF announcement.

Honestly I am just analyzing the current situation based on previous year before and after Bitcoin Futures.

At initial rising, I think it is normal if bitcoin price alone to rise and alt coins are down as because people are investing in bitcoin to leave a while from alt coins. But after the bitcoin rising is normal then there will be more people to invest also in alt coins to push the rising of alt coins.

Most of the time with bitcoin we can see the growth of altcoins. This time it is happening something in a weird manner, bitcoin continues to grow while ethereum along with altcoins were going low which is not fair. Maybe after attaining certain value the altcoins might initiate the growth to go along with bitcoin.

You know, I'm loving Bitcoin getting its dominance back! Albeit I am losing precious BTC due to my altcoins dropping relative to BTC. I believe in BTC in the long term, and the fact that Charlie Lee said what he did about buying Bitcoin over alts is great. I believe that is what has happened. Is it possible that one single tweet decoupled the Bitcoin and alt coin price correlation? Charlie is a very influential person in this space, and ever since he has said that, the alts drop when Bitcoin goes up. The only reason why I have gotten alt coins in the first place is that I was trying to earn more BTC. I hope things turn around for Litecoin soon...

actually, it should be like that, it's because btc as major crypto whereas altcoin as minor crypto, where when there is 1 pair with different currency paired each other than when one of currency bitcoin such an increase then altcoin paired with bitcoin will experience weakness.

I am not agree with you bitcoin is rising also altcoins rising because uptrend is start so now we can say market movement will be crazy in upcoming days because its time to buy deep altcoins and we will definitely make good profits also never forget to make stop loss on Ur altcoins so u can make good profit via trading.

I think its the best time to buy more altcoins not that is dipping before those guys who bought BTC today are going to buy those altcoins using the BTCs they bought today. You can double the investment right when its altcoins time to shine. I always believe its a healthy sign to see BTC is just the only that goes up because it gives you more time to collect altcoins.

this is not new!
altcoins have been falling whenever bitcoin price went up in the past also. the problem is you are missing the whole history, you just saw last year where prices of altcoins went up after bitcoin rise stopped each step of the way up to $20k so you think they are  depending on bitcoin and rise with it! but the fact is they only rise when bitcoin is stable, other times they are going down.

the other altcoin price is fall, this is very normal. another altcoin need time to adapt with the new price of cryptocurrencies, and i think that in this time we should buy more coin and invest on altcoin and get some profit from holding the altcoin,

it seems to be only temporary, because in reality in a pair of mutual matching, if one of the currency is experiencing a weakening of one of them will experience strengthening, that's for sure.

Its normal that if btc is up, altcoins are down. Because of BTC lately is down now altcoins need to adapt for new price of btc in the market or match tha price the pricing btc in the market.

One reason I can think of is people are cashing in their alts after a long wait for BTC to make it's move. The alts fall maybe temporary and they should soon catch up once the confusion settles in.

Yes, bitcoin is now moving upward, slowly but surly it will move more further, from $6k - $8k is a good sign of a healthy recovery,  but this is vice-versa on the altcoin market, others are at the same price but others are digging, in fact more of the leading altcoins are still in the dip, i think its because some investors are start moving/switching to bitcoin so thats altcoin price are still at that current dip. But i am sure that if this bitcoin continued to rise,  altcoins will follows onto it.

I think with the recent increase in the price of Bitcoin, people invested in Alt coins might think that we might see a repeat of last years spike in the price, so they anticipate a much larger profit with Bitcoin than their current Alt coins. My latest portfolio actually dropped in value, because all Alt coins in that portfolio dropped more in value than what Bitcoin price increased in value.  ::)

in my opinion it has become a common thing to happen, although now bitcoin increases altcoin will not always increase too, just wait until bitcoin rises higher and starts to stabilize at a certain price, after that altcoin will definitely increase.

Yes, the strangest in my opinion is Ethereum, now ethereum is very popular, but why the price is not able to soar high.

this is the problem with majority of the newcomers, you guys fail to zoom out and zoom in when required. for example you should go back and look at the whole history and check the times exactly as they are not just look at the overall chart and see a rise happened last year in bitcoin and a rise happened last year in altcoins! that doesn't show you anything.
look when the bitcoin rises happened and see what was happening to altcoins during that time.

also don't confuse the USD value of altcoins with their price during bitcoin rises.

This is not unusual. We have seen this pattern several times before. Yeah I notice that as well. It is possible that some people think bitcoin is more promising as it keeps increasing, so they withdraw money from their altcoin accounts and used it to buy bitcoin. Also, as time goes, more confidence in crypto market will come back. At that time, altcoin price may increase as well. We can just be patient and see how the market goes.

I had also observed such scenario where altcoins has not increased simultaneously with btc. I believed that this has something to do with supply and demand issue wherein this time, more supply in altcoins with a less demand. Since people had came to notice that btc had a drastic increased, investors holding altcoins may have been dumped and switch to btc investment to earn much greater profit than with their investment in altcoins.

It's a cycle. It has been happening every cycle. BTC will rise as people sell alts to buy BTC and then they will buy back alts later which will cause the alts to rise. Most of it is done to increase BTC position. So at the end, BTC is King.

It's funny how people become suddenly experts when BTC recovers and when it dips they consider it a scam.

Btc will remain the one and only useful Crypto currency for yet a long time. There are plenty if shops and services that accept pays in BTC but none of them will accept altcoins.

That's why it's pretty normal that BTC raises and altcoins not. (Some of altcoins will raise soon, too, but poor projects will remain hopefully in the dark)

Yes, I experienced this same incident early of the year 2018 that is around January when the price of bitcoin dropped down to $8,000 plus after the major increase it was below $9000 per bitcoin some weeks and the price of ethereum and other altcoin increased massively and bitcoin did not go up with them. Same thing is happening now.

That's how the market acts now. when bitcoin price goes up Altcoin price goes down. At the moment bitcoin price goes sideway then Altcoins price started to rise rapidly. You will see this again. wait and see.

I've seen it in previous hikes. it has become a trend. when bitcoin prices rise, all altcoins go down. what I am thinking.? For sure is waiting for bitcoin prices to stabilize at the top, and buy altcoins. because when bitcoin is stable. then the altcoin price will go up.

Based on my experiences since one and a half year. The price of altcoins will be increasing when the price of bitcoin is stay or steady. And the altcoins will be down when the prices of bitcoin is going up or going down. It is because when the bitcoin is steady it meand that the people did not buy it. On the other hand, they buy altcoins. So the prices of altcoins is going up. Just my opinion.

This is the short term problem as in some days even altcoins will rise as it has happened before as well where for few days altcoins kept falling and then it started to rise. SO do not worry much about it and good time to buy as well.

It is normal when Bitcoin goes up everything goes down. It will always be that way. Bitcoin is the one that is most important and he determines the price of the rest crypto currencies. It is simple as that.

Perhaps this is because investors move to invest in bitcoin. The price of major altcoins is falling today. But when it's been over a few weeks it's likely that the altcoin prices will be back to normal at today's rate of bitcoin.

That's definitely the point, here in crypto world everything are connected so whatever happen to btc it always affect the altcoin. We commonly see these kind of phenomena and it shows again that Btc will always be the ruler of all cryptos from my point of view.

Ofcourse its gonna happen, and always happened when bitcoin rise,  most of the leading altcoins are its either at the same price or below, i think it is because of some investors are switching to bitcoin to generate profits. This is usual, but sooner or later after bitcoin pump, altcoins follow and set a healthy recovery.

expect this will happen since most of the alts are bought using BTC some of them will sell their alt to join BTC bull run another thing is arbitrage in exchanges especially if there is more than 3 based currency FIAT, BTC, and ETH as an example. a sudden rise in BTC will increase eth on BTC/ETH pair in seconds thus to gain profit they will sell ETH on BTC/ETH pair for the 1st effect until fiat/eth and BTC/eth pair is equal in value, a further more  increase in BTC will again increase eth/BTC pair compare to fiat/eth pair which create more selling on eth/BTC pair thus will result in low demand for eth which will affect eth/fiat value. THUS some alts is bought thru eth will also decrease it's value.

that's the thing that's okay, because bitcoin is the king of coin, and maybe investors from alcoin are flocking to bitcoin as prices start to rise, but do not worry because of the rise of bitcoin, the other coin-coin will also go up

bitcoin does go up but altcoin does not go down just its movement to ride so slow unlike the bitcoin price movement, we have to be patient to wait for altcoin to move fast. this is the beginning to boost the market price going forward.

My strategy is simple i just dont buy all investment in one shot i go for in split so on every dip i had started to buy in 20% so my average of buying price of btc is now in average and if the market cross $8000 then i will start getting profit. Yes of course. Bitcoin rises when altcoins fall because altcoins holders are participating the massive sell offs and use it to invest on bitcoin when the price is down. And when a bull market is on, many investors who had bought btc at cheaper price would sell their btc at higher price to enjoy huge profits. Then, when everyone sells so again supply in the market getting higher and and price will go down again and thats the nature of crypto business.

Bitcoin price now increasing and most of the altcoins now increased too. But they have altcoins also who are stay on their price and decrease. Remember the altcoins price is different to each other they have increase and decreased. But mostly they also follow to the flow of the bitcoin because they are connected to each other.

It's never the same always! The alts had been overvalued and must be undervalued because there are many such shilling coins which really have no meaning and those coins enjoyed some bamboozling rallies last year, so the plan looks like changed and now, investors will watch out for the best before they put their money in - which means Bitcoin will be seen as one of the most safe haven asset currently to invest in. I believe many alts will get to 0 ground level once Bitcoin's super bull run starts.

The bitcoin ,we can not deny is on yopevel of all the coins in the market , it is now the reference of all the coins in the market place , if the bitcoin falls ,the altcoins would probably fall also ,but this would vary the supply and demand of coin in the coin market cap.

Every trend needs to end sometime. :) However I think, if Bitcoin's dominance reach 50%, it will start to decrease again.

This is unique fact, unlike before that if bitcoin goes up then altcoins also strengthens, but what happens now bitcoin rises and altcoin drop, I think this is because users are more confident in bitcoin than altcoins.

Alt coins is good for trade only while bitcoin is best source of long term and for businesses.You can't describe alt coins as a failure coins because every coins has there own feature.

Altcoin will start increasing when bitcoin is stable at some price for some period of time, Now people are investing in bitcoins due to which demand of bitcoin increase and demand of altcoin decrease so when bitcoin reach their highest price then people start selling bitcoin and buying altcoin.

All funds in the market have gone to BTC. After the price of BTC rose in the market, the price of altcoin continued to decline, and the money of altcoin flowed to BTC.

I do not think that it is important that when bitcoin price start decreasing. other altcoin also start decreasing. It is a fact that when bitcoin price become a little stable then people try to convert their bitcoin into other altcoins where they have good chances to increase. but when they realize that bitcoin price again going to increase then they again convert their money in to bitcoin.

I never use bitcoin for trade because it has potential of increase price more than other alt so i only use it for long term and for holding process.Alt coin can never gives you profit.

It already happened many times in the past and it happening again this time. Altcoins may bounce back later if bitcoin go into price correction. Many investors, particularly the whales might opted for bitcoin and sold some of their altcoins holdings to buy the top coins. Moving profits to bitcoin after the gains from their altcoins is also a possibility and others might experiencing their own FOMO.

If the price of Bitcoin will keep going up, I think the Altcoin season will also come. The investment mood may just went down too much lately, and people need to kinda wake up :D

Bitcoin now gain some market dominance, before going down again. I don't think it will stay around 40-50% for the long term.

Talking about the past, bitcoin always stabilized when it reach at top price but for the recent updates on the market altcoins also decreased when bitcoin declines it's value. Right now holders for longer terms wasn't able to handle the critics ideas, because suddenly the market falls and as I've checked lately price dipped down again. Altcoins also in red arrows indicating that many holders were on panic.

Other altcoins will go up too and bitcoin will not rise alone. I just saw the market and all cryptos are on red again. I think if the bitcoin price increase again, altcoins will go up too. I mean, we only have 4 months left until the end of the year, so I hope we will see a rise or at least stable at $8k-10k for the bitcoin price.

At the time of despair people tend to move to less riskier but also less yielding assets.
