Title: Agora I/O potential for bitcoin advertising (now with bounty)
Post by: AllYourBase on March 21, 2011, 01:13:26 PM
Hey Everyone,

The Agora I/O Unconference seems particularly ripe to me for bringing new people to bitcoin.  Seems to be mostly centered on alternatives to the mainstream.  Here's their schedule of events: http://agora.io/etienne/schedule (http://agora.io/etienne/schedule)

Also, I noticed there doesn't seem to be a bitcoin-centric speech listed, perhaps someone here would be able to get something together by the weekend?

That would be great. Maybe we can get an ad up real quick too. It says $100, I'll start with 15BTC.

Want to modify title to include "(now with bounty)"?

This is a good idea. I'm willing to pay USD for the ad and take the collected coins and make up any small difference. I can try to make the ad, but I'd appreciate if someone with actual skills can make a great one.

A talk would obviously be awesome. There seems to be a few slots on the Agorism channel still open.

Diggin' the banner, it looks nice and shiny.

There's someone who's supposedly talking about tor, I2P, bitcoin, mesh networks, and a few other topics, but I'm not sure which talk is his, and further, I don't know how in-depth he'll go.

Nice banner!

"Decentralized P2P" is kind of a pleonasm though. Why not just "Decentralized currency" or maybe "P2P cryptographic currency" or even "Decentralized sound money"?

Yeah, very nice banner. I agree P2P is redundant though.

What do we need to do yet to make this happen?  Just more coins pledged?

Free money? Sounds like "free beer"...

Or like "free speech". I think libertarians will get it. :)

Plus you can get free money at the faucet anyway. :D

Thanks FreeMoney for making this possible, you rock, dude!

Sure. 14bfFHNybWP8BQak2iDdHdBC9pmUEthQff

I don't want to solicit any more donations now though. Justmoon let me use the 100BTC I had pledged for his video towards the ad fee and I'm more than happy to make up the small difference.

Oh dammit... I just sent 10 bitcoins to 14bfFHNybWP8BQak2iDdHdBC9pmUEthQff...I hope you recieved it and can use it towards either this Agora I/O's ad or someother advertisement.  Anyway, there are some very great youtube videos from the Agora I/O Unconference uploaded by http://www.youtube.com/georgedonnelly (http://www.youtube.com/georgedonnelly), some better than others.  I would recommend Brad Spangler's lecture on Agorism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PUdXIAfEvo).

Want me to pass them on to the donate address that Donnelly put on the bottom of the Agora page?
