Not selling but angry!
I have a stop Loss for my alt that covers my initial investment. Ass far as I am concerned BTC can crash and burn and revisit 5K: Many say it will! Angry as hell.
Some say BTC will revisit 7200 USD very soon: Good!
I played this market brilliantly and got pissed over!

I think you are new in this market. It is so normal that altcoins fall down while bitcoin rise. Do not panic.

Yes this is really a bad time for the altcoins. After all, if now Bitcoin starts to grow even higher, they will all fly to hell. Bitcoin (https://coincodex.com/crypto/bitcoin/) is gaining dominance. This is a good thing right now, meaning a lot of people are getting into Bitcoin again. After that people will invest in altcoins for bigger gains.

i suggest you to take the past year chart about ETF application. I remember that when winklevoss ETF gets rejected on march 2017 and it gives a little impact to the bitcoin price. and it's even growing more and more.  :P
when ETF rejection by SEC the price of bitcoin was around $1200.

This was the way the bull market started last year, but I suggest you try to distract your coin now. It's a good choice to change most of the coins into bitcoins when the trend is not obvious.

We all hurts about the currenct situation of altcoins but of course a lot of people are happy now because bitcoin is rising again. This is why you should have bitcoin on your wallet more than any altcoins it cover your losses so even my other coin is in red, bitcoin makes it even for me.

Alts always lag bitcoin in terms of price action.  In the late 2017 bull run, as bitcoin started to gain momentum, investors dumped alts and jumped into bitcoin.  Then once bitcoin hit near $20k, investors jumped back over to alts and alts had the big run up.

Alt is suck if you invest in shitalt  ::). Altcoin fall/stuck because people are starting to buy bitcoin and then sell their altcoins, this has happened repeatedly and there's no need to be angry :). IMHO Altcoin price will definitely rise depending on whether their project or market situation. So just hold and wait!

You are right guys. Current sittuation on the alts market is showing that no more new money are coming on the market. Many people just selling their alts for the BTC because of the pump. That's very sad, but since winter a lot people lost their money and have a fear to invest new money it crypto. That's why money just walking from alts to btc. We need a flat of btc to get some alts rising.

Yes you are right. Many investors began to transfer their altcoins to bitcoin. The growth of altcoyins will be, but it is still difficult to say how long it will take, now it is worth holding only potential coins.

It is not yet the alts season. BTC is just starting to recover and I think this is the start of an uprising. FOMO will follow once smart money have placed their positions in BTC, then they will transfer their holdings to alts to multiply and preserve their capital. As long as you are holding then you are still safe with your investment, yeah this is an ordinary emotions when you see your expectations is not favoring you, but we have to accept the fact that bitcoin will move everything inside this sphere, when the value runs so wild and the rise breaks its barrier then alts will follow and start to show bull runs as well so keep it and observe the movements.

trading doesn't work that way, altcoins doesn't need to follow the price movement of Bitcoin. that's a bullshit logic, every altcoin has its own market so just wait for their time to pump, most newbies think that way they'll just wait for bitcoin's price movement.

Haha you haven't been screwed over. We are going through a normal cycle. First bitcoin rises, then altcoins follow. Naturally people hop onto the bitcoin train, and then take their profits to alt coins. So it's not a good time to bail on alts now, we never know when the alts will start pumping. So just be patient for now, and reap the benefits later.

Reminds me the old days when this situation used to be very much normal. Whenever BTC used to be up then the ALTS went down and even vice versa was true. This just just the opposite pair used to be sold for the hiking one so that then can get into the profit window immediately. In between the scenario got changed broadly and then the relationship was proportional to BTC/ALT. I guess somehow we are seeing the bull run only for BTC and ALTS might just take the same bull run soon, you have to wait for them to get invested. Currently bitcoin is more attractive for most of the investors.

it's actually been a while since we had this opposite trend of btc vs altcoin. most recently alts were following btc trends so I can understand..but still it is perfectly normal market behavior

Anything can happen on a short span of time. We have seen how market or price of bitcoin itself on last 24 hours. Pumped out reaching 8300 where its price is just on 6300-6400 on last weeks as far as I remember.If we do see the dominance of bitcoin itself then we can really see its on 47% which we can presume or do tell people pulling out their altcoin holding and now betting on bitcoin. Yes, it can crash anytime but people is already aware of such thing. The thing you do pissed on how volatile this market is.

You overconfidence with the speculations of others who say bitcoin will drastically decrease to $5k, but in the end it turns out bitcoin is able to rise again and announces that the strongest bitcoin support is priced around $6500. It's natural if you're upset but so it's an experience to be able to more thoroughly read and analyze a price movement of crypto in the market to be able to earn a consistent profit.

This is really BTC time. Whales bought a lot of BTC today. I saw on market that they bought all BTC on market and didn't sell. Usually when someone buy huge part on BTC after that someone usually sell their BTC an price go down. Now we don't see that. Whales didn't sell anything. This is why price went up from 7600 to 8200 for a 1 day.

As you guess the BTC to the next will be 10K USD. Please wait.

Do not worry wins the one who is waiting. In such moments if you are an investor, it will be better not to open the market. Start other business and wait for new growth. This will save your nerves and save deposit.

At this point if your way behind Satoshi wise I would suggest HODL'ing.  The alts usually pump after the Bitcoin pump.  You don't want to move to Bitcoin only to then have the alts pump.  I'm in the same boat.  I jumped off Bitcoin too early and missed the last BTC run. 

I'm also slowly losing hope on altcoins day by day, I think that their progress is slow and that their use for trading is more focused for day traders, I'm focused on long term profits, may be because of that, that I'm getting bored of alts... Just a piece of advice, if you made some moves and then you lose money then you are the one that made the wrong moves and not the market, brilliant moves do not make you lose money, brilliant moves makes you a fortune, the price of bitcoin right now can only go in two directions it can go up in a fast way or it can go down in a fast way and the reason is that everyone is waiting for the decision of the SEC about the creation of a bitcoin ETF on august 10 or 16 depending on the sources, so keep your eyes open for that data and see what it is the ruling and adjust your strategy accordingly, remember you are the one that needs to adjust to the market and not the other way around.

Alts are being sold for bitcoin so its price will rise a lot, after that people will start to sell btc for altcoin as it is high but the time between these two events matters.

Probably alts will recover on Q4, meaning october onwards. First 3 quarters probably are for the mother bear.

Current bitcoin price is almost 8k marks but all altcoins prices are going down.  It's not a happy moment but we need to think positively & hold our patience. Prices can drop down but it doesn't mean that prices will not improve or rise again. I think it's just a matter of time, everything will be ok within few days or weeks.

Maybe your top 10 Altcoins are belong to the crap coins therefore i suggest you choose the top 10 ranked Altcoin lead by Ethereum. As i have observed many times for this year that everytime Bitcoin will rise up then the Altcoins arise too and when the Bitcoin start to fall then the whole market will falls too which is opposite to your current experience. Now that Bitcoin below to $8,000 again therefore good luck to your Altcoins in which you expect them to rise up but i see them already falling triggered by the Bitcoin.

keep your friends quiet, this is a commonplace. if the bitcoin price increases drastically then the altcoin price will drop. but don't worry. altcoin price will also increase

Why not look back and retrace the coin you are holding to avoid future occurrence and the more preferd Advice for you now is to hold and be well patient for it's green to spring.

I can't help but feel the same sentiment, it's taking a very long time for the coins to recover. I'm actually beginning to have frustrations myself but the only thing we can do now is hodl or we might end up regretting more if we sell early. It's really sad to see your asset going down almost 70% from the start of the year, we can only pray to Crypto Gods right now :)

So learn from history price of crypto in the pass, we should be always keep patient wait for bull run. Patient is main key of success in crypto market that has high fluctuacion. Personally, I think if there is more demand than supply for these altcoin, we will see some positive moves even as the market is still in bear because the price of bitcoin is making positive moves and this is because of the demand. You cannot be more right, most altcoins dont fit their billing. Quite a lot of hype around them for no apparent reason, it must however be noted that not all are as this useless, there are those that are actually worth investigating in. As it just takes time for them to regain value, the market is currently red but good coins will always recover along with the market, so maybe yjou just need to be patient

You need not be temperamental about this at all because it is just a normal tradition in this Crypto field. Mind you, it isn't all Alts that goes Dip when BTC is accelerating, some Alts also follow suit. But which ever scenario apply to your Alts, just follow the normal norm of HODL while at Dip or otherwise.

It doesnt work on the basis of bitcoin growth or market itself. Alts are individual projects who are getting developed with their own pace and it depends on different strategies too. You should not be mixing the stuff with bitcoin and altcoins because as I said they are individuals who are working differently. Altcoins can be bets investment than the bitcoin because they have higher chances of going up and profit more as they carry less value within them. The less value means that they are able to spike easily with smallest investment also. With the growing market they grow faster too. So just be patient and see the progress.

That's why I did not do much recently in this market, did not even check my positions regularly anymore. It only creates more frustration and you feel poorer everytime you look at the charts...best thing is to forget the prices for a while. Only look at cmc when you read in the mainstream media that bitcoin is on the move up. Not likely this is going to happen soon though.

in my opinion altcoin is not as bad as you see because with an altcoin you should be able to get a lot of profits and the altcoin prices are still very cheap so you have to get a lot of profit from the movement of altcoin prices.

Some alts suck when you do not handle your investment well during the fall of price. Instead of having bad impression on it, take a good chance on it and find some trusted coin that can give good profit. Do not invest on some coin that has small number of investors but to those that are popular in the market.

The problem is people want to stay rather at BTC when it goes up and down. Either side has its own excuses. Since we don't have new people investing around, alts are suffering and I am afraid they will suffer until the bull run. The prices of alts are ridiculously low at these times. Unfortunately, my buying power depleted. I hope I had some more BTC to invest more just after bull run started. Since buying at these times does not seem to be safe for me. The prices would dip more and more.

If you take a look at BTC at the moment, I think that you'll say BTC is also suck as well. LOL. It's just effect of downward trend so I think you no need to waste your time to complain about it cause you're not the only one in this world :). Try to accept it and find out any other way to make money at this time.

Not true. Most of the altcoins are bad but the rest of them are just having a bad time because look at bitcoin price and look how volatile is in the last couple of months. Altcoins are going down for now because bitcoin cannot find a stabilize price yet and this brings panic among the cryptos.

Though the market might be in red now and as altcoins are not even showing sign of positive rise, I will suggest that we all stay calm and patiently hold our coin, when the market recover and the price rise, we'll make reasonable profit.

Alts sucks? Nah, I don't think so. It is normal for any coin, not just altcoin to experience a reduction in its price and it is not okay for us to say that they suck just for that reason. They are so much that determines whether a coin is worth the hype or not, and I don't think that a reduction in its price is one way to say that, else it would have been okay to say that bitcoin also suck.

I will tell you more - it depresses a lot of people now. However, I am sure that when the market changes the color and becomes green, everybody who said that alts were awful would change their viewpoint.

You are right but current situation is not normal. Prices falling too low and if it will be longer we can see huge catastrophe on market. In my opinion market dying and will be hard if this situaction will be last longer

I kept putting money into altcoins because I thought that they are the ones that are most likely to grow faster, imagine my surprise when bitcoins started growing and the altcoins I was holding were either not growing or they were falling. I am just waiting for the market to get to better prices.

The going down market is the hardest one for alts, as they are decreasing in prices more than btc due to their volatility nature, but in the future they can give you more.

The upcoming ETF decision is truly a big deal and am expecting the market to react accordingly. 2018 has been a horrible year for cryptocurrencies so far and am not expecting anything anymore since almost every optimistic prediction that I tend to make turned out wrong. If the ETF proposal gets approved, the institutional investors would most likely take over this market like a storm which is both good and bad. If the ETF proposal gets rejected, the entire market would most likely fall even further wiping out many shitcoins in a matter of minutes.

Actually, you have not planned properly and not managed your funds in the right manner. Here you should be investing by comparing the bitcoins trend and volatility with the Altcoins overall trend strength and volatility as they both are inversely proportional to each other and I think you should be investing when the Altcoins were expected to rise and not based on the Bitcoins or any other conditions. Also, make use of the Technical indicators and analysis for your help which will surely make all your doubts cleared before taking any trade.

It is precisely because too many scam altcoins appear that the consequences will be caused. I think we should resist altcoins that have no real value and only hype, and pay more attention to those technical altcoins.

You could be right that atcoins sucks, but maybe not everytime. There are also times that alts can make you enough profit by buying cheap. Prices in crypto can be a roller coaster ride and sometime it can even stay down, but still you can have faith that it will rie back again.

With altcoins you need to be careful. Constantly monitor news on the market and on each coin separately. This is real work. Have 14 hours to spend at the computer. Otherwise, the risk of losing your money is very high.

now it's very difficult to make a Bitcoin direction indicator. because the price of Bitcoin is strongly influenced by News. so there are so many different predictions. some people say Bitcoin will fall to 4k and some say it will go up to 7k-8k, if you listen to it. I believe you will be confused. so, it's best to make your own decisions based on your personal analysis.

Agree, as investments many altcoins suck.  Especially the least expensive ones, the ones trading for pennies.  The huge irony is that these same ones would be excellent to use as money as compared to bitcoin (if only they had strong mining support).  You could pay a fraction of a cent for a transaction and wouldn't have to wait that long for a confirmation with most of them.  The same isn't true for bitcoin.  The main advantage of bitcoin is that it has huge support.  There are so many more ppl owning it than any other altcoin but it kinda sucks as a currency.

They are so much that decides if a coin is justified regardless of the promotion or not, and I don't feel that a lessening in its cost is one approach to state that, else it would have been alright to state that bitcoin likewise suck.

I prefer to focus solely on bitcoin, it is the most reliable cryptocurrency in my opinion, altcoins tend to give rewards to people that trade them on a daily basis, for long term they are not good options, you could end up having a coin with the same price you bought it in the first place, of course, after experiencing a huge amount of fluctuations.

Well BTC was hit the number of $3k ++ few weeks ago, but it already starting to show and increase on it price, and it seems the movement is still ongoing.
But even though today the price is dropping at $3k ++ again, but i'm sure it will back up again soon.

well you have to research about how the market is running before going into trading.. its not easy men!
