It doesn't necessarily leads to that. People who doesn't have the means to move a market, no matter how greedy they are, they can't and won't be able to manipulate anything on that particular coin. If ever, greediness often leads to losses, as was evidenced by the previous bull run when everyone thought bitcoin's price would still climb higher than $19k. I've seen a lot of people hoarding loads of newly-created coins to hit the exchange only to be greeted by disappointment due to greediness.

Yes its totaly not a panic, i would say what they do is trading, its good though that means the coins are a live and the move volume in the market mean the coin become more stable and the value will increasing.

it is not just greed that leads to market manipulation it is at least 10 other factors that lead to it and then greed enters and makes it easier. otherwise the manipulators are using their large funds and the small size of the market to pump and dump altcoins for instance. then they are using the fact that the market is filled with newbies who are lazy but want money so the pump and dump groups shape up which end up with scamming these newbies.

True, I also feel if a lot of negative news aims to frantically create a cryptocurrency user who is still a beginner. the goal is that they sell their coins and the price of the coins will be low, after low they will buy it and sell it at high prices.

Yes it has now become a regular phenomenon and it was higher when Chinese dominated the bitcoin market earlier.I ts an ongoing process which would be continuously used by big whales targetting newbies who always price to be the weaker hands.

What early investors do is to just keep quiet and buy as much coins as they could during such price dips.Just making use of the opportunity.

it may happen, there is no written prohibition for anyone to do it, but I doubt that person can succeed, it is true that sometimes the newbie will be easy to propose and panic just because a few bad issues, but it will be hard to do to old players, because they already have a lot of experience that can fortify them from bad issues, but I also look at it like a market strategy that implements the economic system as much as possible where they hold the principle to get something at the lowest price but must be able to sell when the price is so high that big profits will be easy to get, what kind of thing can be called as greed?

Its happening and we can’t stopt it. The best thing to do is to ride with it so your money will be safe in the short run. It creates fear for the newbies but they must not focus on any hype and start focusing on how they can ride with the trend so they can have the profit.

You're talking like this has not been going on for decades on other markets, OP. Those who have a lot will always use it to influence the market and i'm not even talking about cryptocurrencies. Just look how the USA is lobbying and influencing world economy, forcing smaller countries into submissions. Don't like it, you'll get a trade embargo, if it won't work wel move a carrier near your border or fly fighter jets over your cities. If this won't work, we'll start a war and steal all your resources.

Well dont you think that it is the core strategy of winning this market? I mean crypto currencies are always bought at lowest prices and sold at higher prices and that is the only way to make money in this market. If you buy coins at higher prices and sell at lower then how can you make profits from it anyway? That is the most logical thing in the market while investing. I dont think by doing so they are making the market scared or something like that, actually they are making it healthy by at least investing into it. The fear and panic is when market is dropping and people are making buzz about it instead of making FUDs about it.

Ha-Ha, yeah. We used to get "China has banned bitcoin" stories practically every month. Then they actually banned bitcoin and we got "China has changed it's mind on the ban" stories for a while. Thankfully they've died down.

I don't think buying cheap and selling high later amounfs to greed and manipulating the market. Anyone can fall in that category because at the time of buying low, you are taking enormous risk only few people will take as you don't know for certain whether the coin would not even make it to the future where you get to sell at an higher price. Eventually, when you manage to sell, someone who is buying is also taking the risk you took long time ago which could either be a successful one or otherwise.

The point of manipulation is joining of groups that are bent on manipulating the price in the short run and the brain behind this is greediness and that is why anyone who wants to invest in coins based on recent occurrence should be careful in doing so because that upward trend in graph might be due to some invisible hand trying to twist you to part away with your hard earned resources.

Lot of truth in this post. Actually its true that there are many people who go crazy about creating these pump and dump groups. No one knows who and how they have created this groups and they just keep posting XYZ coin will be pumped to the moon and unfortunately people does follow them and when the prices are too high then these groups creators will sell it immediately and people keep watching their loss up front. Lolz.
Sometimes I believe that whales are playing these kind of stuff over big coins too like ETH and BTC. May be all the ups and downs are being created by them only.

Let's say the market is "manipulated" as say by the others then who will have to adjust in that kind of situation? Of course the trader itself.

Let those inexperienced people feel the actual risks of doing trading so that in the future they will now know how to deal with it.

Being feared and panicked can't be blamed to the actual behavior of the market. It should be control by the trader itself so build experienced.

I think that this is only specific to some markets only, like the small altcoins where they pump their price so that people invest in it and than dump it, but it is no enough to manipulate it, they need a lot more than that to influence others, like they go on social media and forums and start claiming that the coin that they are ting in is hood and will go big, and people who are new to this will believe them and that is how they manipulate the market.

I guess that's not a form of market manipulation if they buy cheaply and sell for a high price, they just want big profits. Hi, friend? whether you want to sell your token at a low price with little profit. I think only a few people like that.

Exactly, it should be learned by inexperienced traders they have to be open minded in terms of protecting their money, greedy people are mostly the victims of the whales inside this industry,  they tend to play thinking that they will be able to keep achieving their goals but we should remember that whales are more experienced and matured so it's not greediness from their part but already an skills which been enhance from time to time.

Yes, such things happen sometimes but we should understand that it is impossible to do if you have small amount of money so only "big traders" or funds can manipulate a market price. It is much easier to manipulate assets which are small capitalized and of course such a manipulation is very profitable but it is quite dangerous and it is possible that it is out of law

This is how cryptocurrencies incounter price decreasing because of some greedy people they want to manipulate  the price of crypto in the market. Most of them are the big whales who buy a big volume of coins in a very low price and then they it right away when they see the price starting to increase.

If you as an individual are led by greed when you go to trade, chances are you won't go far. However, I think you are right when you say that there is market manipulation. Market manipulation is usually done on an institutional level, taking advantage of the small investors. Whether or not you can call this greed, I don't know. The whales are simply doing business, and they just use the fact that the crypto markets are not regulated enough. So they get by with all sorts of shady things while making money.

Those that have the power to manipulate the markets are going to use it, even if they do not want to use it they cannot avoid to manipulate the markets even if they wanted, if a group of rich people with tens of billions of dollars suddenly decided to invest in this market that will obviously make the price to go up, so they are manipulating the markets but no one complains when that happens because they earn money, but people with that kind of capital may decide to short bitcoin or to sell their coins and this will make the price to go down and that is when everyone complains.

Crypto industry is not much mature yet, most investors/traders are lacking knowledge and trade based on emotional decisions taken when the market is either booming up or doing down straight. Ultimately they lose money and the well informed investors grabs the oppprtunity to earn more from the mistakes of newbies.

So greediness can't do much to the market if you're a small scale investor but surely people would lose money if they keep trading based on sentiments and not on research and knowledge.

Sorry, but you are not going to change this reality. There will be always people causing the chaos to be benefited, especially on the financial market where speculation and unscrupulousness are a must. The point is that the risks are clear for all and if you don't agree, better to stay away.

It doesn't mean a common, innocent investor can't take advantage from this scenario. Invest money you can afford to lose, don't be greedy like the ones you criticize and withdraw your profits often to another investment, a solid one. This way you build your patrimony avoiding the risks and protecting yourself against manipulation.

I do believe the emotions of greed does play a huge role in how the market works and evolves.  It's why trading is damn near impossible on a smaller time level because your dealing with thousands of emotions splattering against the market at any given second.

I agree.Too many people here trade for their own benefits without even considering the right timing to trade.Greed is one of the factors that urges them to go on trading even when the market condition is not good,so as a result they tend to make less profits and even others end up failed.

Its human nature though, the businesses in the world are going to be like a cartel, hoarding and wants to corner the market for their own. But since this is decentralized and there are more tokens readily available there certainly isn't so much to manipulate unless they concentrate on a particular coin which they do with BTC.

Fake new also contribute to market manipulation, it is used by whales who are hoping to buy cheap coin to earlier people learn and could resist the news the better fot individual and crypto community at large.

Nothing new to news manipulation, the media world wide had been doing it since time.

Isn't this what happens when something is available to be bought and sold? We all have a natural desire to buy low and sell high. I wouldn't call it market manipulation unless it's a whole bunch of people with extremely deep pockets (like banks, for example) getting together and dumping the coin all at once to make the price go down.

But buying and selling to turn a profit is what everything is being used for nowadays. Bitcoin is not practical enough to be used as a currency (yet) so in the meantime takes the shape of an investment vehicle. It's listed as a commodity because it is being treated that way by investors. Finite supply, fixed price, etc.

This is why I think that it has grown organically. The 'outsiders' saw an opportunity, believed in it, and dumped a bunch of money into it. Then they waited patiently and watched while other people came running too. That's as organic as it can get in terms of true growth of investment. Recognize a potential for growth before others do, and wait patiently until they all join in.

What kind of manipulation do you mean? In terms of ripping off unsuspecting traders, that does happen quite often in other markets too. Also, exchanges have been known to fake volume levels to make it look like more people are using their service than in reality (and therefore causing slippage).

Certainly I would agree. If you are too focus on getting money, you might just do anything to get it no matter what and even at the expense of others who are just like innocent victims. Why would somebody do manipulation if they have to gain nothing out of it? It really makes a common sense isn't it? and besides this is not a forceful and direct way of stealing money. Robbers broke doors and windows and a greedy person might consider this the best way to do become rich instantly. Yet for me it is not good choice of becoming rich.

It is more like it leads to losing their money rather than market manipulation, greediness is not enough to do that even though market manipulation is not good it takes more than that to do a manipulation, you cant manipulate with an empty pocket and knowledge right? they are greedy to earn money thus not minding their own decisions and strategy.

Sometimes many people try to manipulate the market and buy precious tokens cheap and selling high later. They intentionally cause fear and panic in the inexperienced members and take advantage to perpetrate their greed activities.

I think that's one way of putting it, but greed tends to do more worse in my opinion. It leads
to demise and regret. Greed tends to be part of the play and a drive that pushes people to invest
and sell, which eventually has this ground effect on the market as well. A ripple effect that creates
swells and disrupts everywhere.

Because some people are greedy, prices fluctuate, which is why only one in five people in the market make money. We should be afraid when others are greedy.

It's not sometime, but it's often done in the market cryptocurrency. Especially with a token that has a price is still cheap so it can be done easily. This is just an opportunity, for them who has a lot of money and know of a pump and dump of a token then they will keeping up the price higher to attract the attention of some investors to merge. Just negative side if this incident be called 'cryptocurrency can be manipulated' but in fact far from it. However, this is their wrong way when it comes to market cryptocurrency.

Before your greediness can manipulate the crypto market it all depends on your level lol. You can’t just start manipulating the market, that requires a lot of money and some of these whales will usually invest in group to manipulate the market.

But it’s always not good to be greedy cause it can spoil a lot of things. Greediness is a very bad thing, it can even lead to downfall, so it’s not something anyone should indulge in, always do things the right way.

It is not market manipulation but they are deliberately holding back because market prices are low, they just want to gain more profit from the tokens they buy.

Those people who are selling high and buying at cheap prices are traders and that isn't manipulation. But this can be called manipulation if there are traders that we call whales.
They intentionally cause fear and panic in the inexperienced members and take advantage to perpetrate their greed activities.
With the help of FUDs they really cause panic to those inexperienced investors who doesn't have an idea on what they are investing.

Obviously yes. I think this is exactly what the whales do. But for this, the investors have to hold a really great percentage of the entire holding so as to influence the price of the market. They invest a lot of amount in a particular cryptocurrency due to which the price rises. Then other people also start investing it and when the price reaches the peak they sell all their holdings which cause a major fall in the price and people start selling it, which further adds to the price fall.

Yes it is true but you can never deal with rudeness in other people, they will do everything which would be mandatory in order to get money from you, it's a shark pool and you need to bite, or to be bitten.

You have now described an ordinary speculator who always wants to buy cheap and sell expensive. This is greed and speculation. But on the other hand, it is the growth of the ICO market, by attracting new funds.

In my own opinion, that is called strategy, you should always take advantage of the market price while it was dumping in order to earn more profit in the future.

There's no doubt that someone from behind can really manipulate the price and can suddenly pump the price to the extreme levels before suddenly cashing out and leave newbie traders wondering what had just happened. And its very fraudulent in my opinion, but we can't stop it because its been practice for so long. But as a precautions, its better to take and cash out if you see some good profits already and don't wait till the price declined and you have no choice by then but to sell wherein instead of getting 50% profits, you might end up in a loss.

Part of the game where everyone should understand and realized, this type of strategy is for those who really have broad knowledge about the business, most of the time this attitude also bring more success as you can wait till you see that the value turned to your desire amount.

Exactly, this is what we are experiencing in today's cryptocurrencies investments. And it's so unfortunate that those who are capable enough with cash are those manipulating this market. Some of them stay close doors to put up a particular coin to pump and dump it and at the end, leave the coin to hang helplessly without the developers knowing what was done behind close doors.
This is basically the conflict of interest. People show their originality in these conditions when they already know how they have to behave and you are expecting them to behave in fine way. But they prior their personal interest over yours because they are greedy. In current scenario, those big investors are the biggest problematic people for bitcoin and the market.

Greed is curse is a famous quotation which we are hearing since our childhood and that there is no way that we can deny this fact. This is not a good quality and that you have to kill it in yourself if you think you have any such kind of habit. It will do nothing good but it will result in huge loss as you will then not be able to make any kind of sensible decision and that you will not be happy with the outcomes then.

I agree lot of day trader didnt invest in a ico. It because they wait it to dump in the exchanger. If you see lot of ico price 1$ but when they list they immediately dump into 0.30$ or more. So why invest in ico if you can buy it in less in a exchanger... but this strategy was so risky because if you buy a bad token you will loss profit..
