Post by: JIMY JAMES VERENAR on July 25, 2018, 05:44:21 AM
Hello, as we both knwo that cryptocurrency ius future payment solution in the world thoughthere is some bariers from differenct states and goverments but the reality still there.
Example we can see proress in some europeans countries having ATM machins where users can withdraw bitcoin and other altcoins there by using their ATM crds, also they can pay by using cryptocyurrency in different placess like supermarkets but also they can make online purchase with cryptocurrencies.

SO..
WHY WE DONT SEE THESE THINGS IN AFRICA TOO??

WHATS  TO DO TO HELP AFRICAN COUNTRIES TO ADOPT THESE CHANGES?

Africa is a continent wherein almost all countries are considered third world countries. Poverty is very high and many people are suffering from hunger with no homes and food to eat. The high incidence rate of poverty shows that it will be hard for Africa to progress very fast compared to other developed countries. But I believe in time, cryptocurrency will slowly mainstream into Africa step by step.

We can't help them. Most of the counttries there are poor compared  to the other continents. As we can see in the news, many okaces there have not actually even been touched by technology not like compared to the developed countries.

Those countries that are way ahead by opening up new frontiers in the development and application of blockchain and bitcoin, have one thing in common which is development in virtually all areas of their economy. They have challenges but have moved away from basic issues such as education, road infrastructure, electricity, identity, health care issues, minimum wage, in short basic human needs have been covered which most African countries are still battling with in the 21st century.

The point is, African countries will get there but not at the pace you are expecting it to happen at this time. Unfortunately, by the time they get there, other countries would have moved to bigger and more efficient platforms which means the world don't wait for nobody.

The majority of African countries are seen as third world ones, lack of education and the spread of poverty are the main issue there especially in central Africa, in the northern  countries which are more advanced than the others, cryptocurrencies was already banned by the governments back in 2017 but the people's awareness about the blockchain technology is higher than expected and there are present in the crypto community.

I think it would be better if a bitcoin ATM is integrated with a bank ATM, so the public will be easier to understand in its use, as well as be able to introduce bitcoin to the general public.

Bitcoin doesn't make corruption go away, which is the big problem for Africa. Money doesn't seem to help them, neither does bitcoin.

actually i believe that bitcoin adoption in Africa is good enough considering the situation and comparing it to the whole world. for example in most of the world the bitcoin adoption is already slow  with exception of some countries such as Japan. but in Africa as somewhat of a developing country we have already had a good level of adoption which we may not even have in many other countries.

if you have any particular reason to believe it is otherwise i am eager to hear it.

If that so, any company in Africa should take as leading one become Bitcoin Bank and provide ATM as facility, but in reality it is not so simple looks like as regulation and tax was become stuck discussion for all this time. Bitcoin can fast being adopting when many famous people in Africa will support this Bitcoin become legal.

Not only in Africa , but there are still many countries that have not legalized cryptocurrency, let alone making ATMs. the best way for crypto ATMs and payments using crypto to be immediately canceled around the world is to spread the benefits and benefits of crypto to everyone so that they can feel the benefits and ultimately many support.

The cryptocurrencies are not immediate understanding and management, require skills and also hw/sw equipment. Of course there are fewer bases in Africa than in more advanced countries and continents.

WHY WE DONT SEE THESE THINGS IN AFRICA TOO??

WHATS  TO DO TO HELP AFRICAN COUNTRIES TO ADOPT THESE CHANGES?

You need to fight poverty, corruption and ignorance in most of those countries. Ordinary people are struggling everyday looking for food, water and escaping wars. Rich people don't care a lot about cryptocurrencies when they can swim in a pool filled by gold or green cards. Average people who have access to the Internet and have difficult life caused by the inflation will invest in cryptocurrencies but their number remains very low compared to the other continents...

Africa lack most basic infrastructures needed for the growth of bitcoin and other Cryptos, epileptic supply of electricity, poor internet services and corruption are the major barriers towards accelerating the growth of bitcoin in Africa,  more so inadequate awareness and orientation about btc is another bottleneck hindering the growth of cryptos in the continent.

Even through Africa has started to adopt this market, this does not explain that it will move the same pace as other countries such as the UK. This is because Africa is still a third world country and the majority of the people are not associated with this market yet.

i don't think there is much we can do to speed up bitcoin adoption in Africa specially if we don't live there. of course if you are already there you may have an influence. for example you can start talking to different merchants, big  companies,... to start accepting bitcoin as payment. if you have money or are interested in it, you can start businesses in Africa related to bitcoin. for example start up an African bitcoin exchange service making it easier for Africans to buy/sell bitcoin with local currency within their country.

African countries as you might as well have observed pick up on new technologies quite slowly. Bitcoin also seems to be no different. However, I feel differently actually. I think the adoption of Bitcoin by African citizens is rather more impressive than expected. Governments might not be showing full support to the currency but Africans surely are. And with the rate at which cryptocurrency is gaining popularity in Africa, it is only a matter of time before it becomes commonplace. If other continents do a good job of maintaining the growth of cryptocurrency, then, surely Africa will catch up. The young people in Africa seem to always be ready to embrace innovation.

Africa continent has been considered as always backward in all aspects.People there already struggling for food and bed since years, poverty is at its peaks and technology to be adapted there will take so much time, really dont know the timeframe. But i hope that the crypto space if adapted fast by Africans can bring huge changes in no time and it would help the people move fast along with the other countries. So i am hoping that this could change the phase of Africa provided their government also supports the cause and implement the technology as early as possible.

I think that the economic conditions and technological developments in Africa are still small, they are left behind. the government only used their voices for politics, but they do not get a good life.

I think the government should be a helper, give solutions to the people, by doing a great socialization of spreading crypto.

Well maybe as of this moment they are still coping om the problems left to them such as the poverty, poor economy and such, bitcoin may not be there priority as of today. But if there government will do something in order to lessen poverty, make their economy grow well they should start accepting bitcoin. Poor countries, continents have their issues tondeal with therefore they must settle it first before entering into something, but maybe with the help of bitcoin they can risw and grow together with the western countries. Hoping for there government right evaluation in terms of finances and they may consider bitcoin.

The people of Africa, are severely underdeveloped, suffering from basic necessities like food and shelter in life. This is their biggest concerns, that is keeping them behind, in comparison to the rest of the world. If these primary needs get fulfilled they will from  then on, divert their minds elsewhere like knowing the crypto market. Although Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Senegal are  a few that have gotten out and discovered the medium and momentum of this highly potential platform of the cryptos.

The people of Africa, are severely underdeveloped, suffering from basic necessities like food and shelter in life.

There are hundreds of millions of Africans who live perfectly normal lives that people elsewhere would recognise as pretty much the same.

In developed countries people buy cryptocurrencies. Places like Africa will be transformed by people earning them. To enable that they need to develop the skills and products that can be marketed elsewhere. In this day and age no one cares where someone's located if they're recruiting them for a task.

Education will be the key to advancing.

You are very correct, individuals in Africa have the knowledge of cryptocurrency and have invested in Bitcoin and alternative coins. Go through youtube, you will see video of so many African people talking about cryptocurrency. The ATM for bitcoin will become popular when the Government legalized cryptocurrency in the African countries.

African countries are well under the poverty level and most of their governments are charged with cases of corruption. People their needs to get their basic rights fulfilled in order to think about cryptocurrencies. However, countries like Zimbabwe and South Africa has recently made notable advancements in this sector. Hopefully, others will be able to eradicate poverty soon.
It's not only them that has this problem but many other countries as well.

But it seems that there are countries who are doing it the right thing of adopting cryptocurrencies. Also there are some needs to help them understand what cryptocurrencies are.

And another problem is not most of them are literate to computers, gadgets and technology.

Human beings must have their basic need like food, safety, house first. And then they need education, electricity, transportation system, internet. Then they have the luxury to have some crypto currency.
Not only in Africa there is a lot of part in the world(more than 70% maybe) people are lacking their basic need. We must not expect that they will start using crypto currency out of nowhere.

i'm not degrading any Africans or the Africa itself but as you can see, It is common in almost every family in Africa are  living in poverty meaning they are lack in basic needs and can't afford luxurious things, let alone afford internet connection. We knowing that they don't have internet connection can't expect them to be involved in crypto currency where you need internet.

Everything takes time especially things like this. Generally Crypto adoption is just growing day by day and in Africa its still at the infant stage. Only few has embraced the revolution and moving with it. We have to give it time, but a thing that can help to speed it up is Crypto awareness, hosting blockchain conferences here and seminars to orientate people and the environs.

It's no longer new news that Africa continent always comes last whenever it comes to embracing new Technology.
Cryptocurrency has been in existence for quite some time now and Africans are yet to embrace it, we have just few of them here, while others are still lagging behind.
One big problem Africans are facing is the issue of ignorance, 90% still sees Crypto as a scam/ponzi of time.
just the other day, I saw a post on instagram where some Nigerians dudes were saying investing in bitcoin is just like investing your money in MMM. They are full of ignorance and it's destroying them and their economics.

So I think if there can be a multimedia way of enlighting people in Africa about cryptocurrency,  it will be nice.

I am an African, Nigeria to be precise. A very bad economy occasioned by my half-educated president made me lose interest in a physical business because inflation reduced my ability to survive in my business, forcing me to close down two of my start-up business and moving to open another to avoid being jobless.
Up till now, my Central Bank governor knows the truth that Bitcoin is not a Ponzi scheme but he still went ahead to declare it was a Ponzi scheme, but himself and other of his colleagues are secretly buying and trading bitcoin. We just realize we have voted a Scam into power.
The problem of Africa is Nigeria and problem of Nigeria is the uneducated Northerners "Hausa/Fulani" always been aided to power by the British government so they could control our economy to their selfish gain. My government is just not sincere.

African countries are not well digitalized for now yet which they need to develop BTC involvement and get BTC benefits in their life. The reason is very simple, African people have to fight much more bigger issues like lack of food, education and shelter. If their primary needs get fulfilled they will surely get the time to divert their minds elsewhere like knowing the crypto market. Still, Nigera, Zimbabwe, Senegal are some of the countries who are still making their mark in crypto world despite being surrounded by poverty and corruption.

I agree. In fact, cryptocurrencies will be most beneficial to developing countries such as Africa. Most parts of Africa may be overpowered by the influence of the traditional financial sector, but for this same reason, they are very much ready to adopt new currencies, particularly cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrency as a completely virtual currency traded online, offers plenty of opportunity for African economies due to its unregulated nature, as well as its economic flexibility. Cryptocurrencies will support cross-border and international trade. They will also be given access to a larger customer base, boosting sales and growth. In summary, the huge potential of crypto will be a game changer for Africa.

Never been to Africa so I don't really know how good is their internet connectivity because cryptocurrencies need a good internet connection.  Even in Asia with a better education and internet, cryptocurrency still not so popular.

I think the reason is that they have still an undeveloped technological system, with slow internet connection, lack of information or knowledge to be shared with the community and maybe because it has many rural places that needs progress and improvement. There's nothing impossible so they might be late but will definitely progressive and productive with cryptocurrency, they need a good governance to do the process.

Yeah but many of them are scammers, have seen some Nigerians on steemit they seem to do lot better.

We all know African country is not economically stable that’s why i think cryptocurrencies progress is not satisfiable in those areas. For this reason we have no option to help them.

Actually Africa is mostly under developed country based on this yes there are many faculties have been given but it will progress slowly because of their investors most of them have not enough asset to invest here but it will increase soon.

I guess the problem lies in African goverments. As far as I know there is not much free market in those african countries. But more and more Africans are aware of cryptocurrencies wich may help them in the future to adopt them.

We all know that all these crypto currencies available in the market are volatile in nature and then they all are part of investment so its valuation are subject to market demand and supply and it’s not the situation of Africa, the conditions are same all over the world and the conditions are even more that there are many people who don’t know about the bitcoin and in order to increase the growth of bitcoin and to inflate its valuation, awareness could be the biggest influence.

In Africa, crypto acquisition comes with a premium, similarly to a decade ago when voice calls to Africa from Europe and North America were more expensive than other places.

There is a high arbitrage phenomenon that is prevalent with limited choice of  high-liquidity bitcoin exchanges, stricter exchange controls or where access to international bank accounts is limited.

Another reason could be lack of education and awareness.

I think the problem is the people in africa not many have ability about technology. Bitcoin is about new technology where if we dont understand about technology then the progreas of course will be very slow. So in this case is people ability or knowledge problem.

It will definitely  move slowly in Africa because information  is power and the source of information which is internet had not gain up-to 10% of cyber power which has been an obstacle.  We need the power of internet to get external information.

The reason is simple, Africans have to fight more big problems like lack of food, education and shelter. However, Nigera, Zimbabwe, and Senegal are some of the countries that still make their mark in the coding world, despite being surrounded by poverty and corruption.

I think one of their problems is lack of the computers or devices, We all know that the africa is lack of the people that has a knowledge about computer. Also their knowledge is not enough to operate the bitcoin. I know that some of the africans graduated but most of them did not study. That's why the progress of the bitcoin in their country are very slow.

I have some friends in Africa and they have many problems there.
First, they usually don't have electricity and Internet in the small villages. No cell phones, no TV, even no beds, furniture, nothing...
So, it's natural that many of them still don't have conditions to use crypto currencies.
They need to develop first and reach western standard.

Cryptos progressing slowly in Africa is due to lack of development and poor attitude to acceptance of new technology  but this is expected to improve with time

Uhmm I'm not degrading them but as we know. Africa is a third world country and majority of people there probably don't have Internet Connection Let alone electricity. It is no surprise how slow their progress if they have this problems. I Think it would be best for them to focus on other necessary things than riding the waves of crypto,

I agreed with wat you said because most of the African countries are yet to meetup to the standard of using cryptocurrency. Although, CZ of binance seems to believe Africa is the future of cryptocurrency as he said on Twitter but I don't see that happen if Africa are not well develop.

If they really care about crypto, i think if about internet, people in town must have access into it. And if there are no electricity and Internet in small villages, i think not only in Africa, but in many countries over this world.

African poor people do not really need bitcoin, because they do not know what to do with it. It seems to me that it is necessary first to train and prepare people for this.

we might be able to help if there is already a lot of technology in there, we know that there seems not to be affordable with modern technology like other countries.

The knowledge of blockchain and that of cryptocurrency is not well known in many Africa countries though they are improving gradually on the use of internet. The use of bitcoin ATM machines and the legalization of cryptocurrency is not only in Africa but the world in general, many countries still find it difficult to accept the use of cryptocurrencies because its a decentralized system as a result they believed its a scam.
In the case of Africa countries, I believe they will be among the leading countries in blockchain in the nearest future its just a matter of time.

Cryptocurrency progression in South Africa, for example, has never seen a brighter times. Many new ICOs and crypto assets are being deployed. Capetown, Johannesburg, and Durban are becoming blockchain hubs!

So, you asked what to do to help African countries adopt these changes! Well, we (Kryptoro (https://kryptoro.com/)), have contributed to the (r)evolution by offering ZAR, Dirham, Naira, and USD as initial fiat-based currencies to SA market. Our main virtues are:

- The ability to purchase cryptocurrencies using credit cards
- An instant and simple fiat gateway
- Multiple cryptocurrencies (5/6 on launch)
- Superior security infrastructure that takes the burden off the user
- Live trading analysis and trading tools to assist clients in making investment decisions
- Variable analytics generated by our AI trading software

Kryptoro is a subsidiary of Kagiso Interactive (https://www.kagisointeractive.com/), company well-renowned for collaborating with Marvel Comics, EA Games, Disney, MTN, and Mahindra Kotak Bank! Kagiso Interactive is also a South African software development firm that has regularly been voted as the Best Mobile Applications Development Company in Africa and the Middle East. The firm has also been recently touted as one of the leading companies globally to contribute in the space of AR and VR.

So, Kryptoro is currently midway through its crowdsale phase. Once the crowdsale is over, the exchange will operate with KTO (Kryptoro token) which will be used as a "gas" of the exchange. KTO will be a "native" currenecy of the exchange, serving for paying taxes and fees, and other services.

To conclude, if you really want SA crypto market to blossom then we all need to contribute to it!

Many okaces have not even been touched by technology unlike other developed countries. I think it would be better if an ATM bitcoin was integrated with the bank's ATM, so the public would be easy. Better understand in using it, as well as be able to introduce bitcoin to the public.

Because people have too many problems to worry about, making attention for technological issues a difficult thing! We worry over bad leadership, we worry over poor infrastructure, we worry over corruption, we worry over debts! But the funniest thing in all is that we have all of what it takes to be the greatest continent on the planet, its the reason for the struggle between the chinese and the rest over who gets the greatest share of Africa! We have isolated cases of crypto awareness in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe etc. I learnt also recently that broadband internet penetration and affordability is still an issue owing to the many years of wars and decadence! I have hope though, because crypto looks to me like a tool that can liberate Africa. All Africa needs is crypto awareness.

I think it is because for the people there it is very hard to believe in something new, even if it would be free, fresh and perspective. You can help Africans by showing them a successful example of other guys here.
the truth is africa havr started the adoption of cryptocurrencies, they are not as bold as US asia and EU in terms of news but centain publishers now recognize whats going on inside they really are adopting cryptocurrency slowly.
