Title: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: evergreendog on July 25, 2018, 09:35:42 PM Usually my electrum wallet loads just fine, but now its stuck and is saying synchornizing.... for the last few hours. I'm using version 2.8.3 if anyone can help me
Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: TryNinja on July 25, 2018, 09:40:36 PM Why are you using an outdated version? Electrum had some major vulnerabilities that have been fixed recently. Besides the synchronizing issues that tend to happen in the 2.x.x versions.
Please upgrade your Electrum wallet to the latest version ASAP: https://electrum.org/#download Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: evergreendog on July 25, 2018, 09:51:03 PM Why are you using an outdated version? Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: TryNinja on July 25, 2018, 09:55:24 PM How to I go about upgrading it and importing my old wallet? Which OS are you using? Just install the latest version.- If you are on Windows, just download the latest file on the website[1] and run it. - If you are on Linux, run the commands mentioned in the website: Code: sudo apt-get install python3-setuptools python3-pyqt5 python3-pip P.S: You should always have your seed backed up (even before upgrading Electrum). So if you don't, just do it right now. Available platform plugins are minimal, offscreen, windows reinstalling the application may fix the problem Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: TryNinja on July 25, 2018, 10:31:52 PM ~ Which OS are you using? (please be specific)Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: evergreendog on July 25, 2018, 10:39:36 PM windows vista Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: TryNinja on July 25, 2018, 10:47:08 PM windows vista Well, that's the issue. Vista isn't supported anymore.Honestly, why are you still that outdated? Microsoft stopped supporting Vista more than 1 year ago. Which means that you will not receive new security updates or get any support for most softwares. You shouldn't be storing Bitcoins in an OS that no longer receives security updates. Just update to Windows 10. Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: evergreendog on July 25, 2018, 10:50:13 PM windows vista Well, that's the issue. Then, either use Electrum 3.0 (https://download.electrum.org/3.0/) (which AFAIK it's the latest version that supports Vista - still not recommended) or update it to Windows 10.Title: Re: Electrum wallet not synchronizing Post by: evergreendog on July 25, 2018, 11:12:26 PM I know, I only use this computer for small transactions of less than 100 dollars, I have another laptop with windows 10 for more security.
