/r/CryptoCurrency/ is such a weird place, you can't really expect to have any sort of serious discussion there.
When you look at that sub, it seems as though it's full of children. Some of the comments are just atrocious.

Did have some some pretty good discussions over on Steemit, they have quite a lot of active Discord groups that are tied to particular groups.

Forum is more better to talk about cryptos since you cannot do such a trolling or you'll be banned for it. That's why I love bitcointalk.

The Daily Thread on https://reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/ is the best place for intelligent discussion on bitcoin. They moderate it well, so the silly/scammy stuff is absent.

True. But forums have a lot of spammers so it's sometimes hard to have good conversations about cryptos itself. If you look, there are more generic posts than constructive, educational threads.
Anyway, forums are good since topics are organized so discussing topics and asking for help is much easier.
I personally avoid reddit. It's just that I can't stand it's design and I think there's so much clutter.

r/Cryptocurrency is not the only subreddit about crypto. What about r/btc,r/bitcoin and r/ethereum?
It`s weird that r/bitcoin is mostly about Bitcoin Cash, while r/btc is about Bitcoin Core. This kinda confuses all the newcomers. The r/cryptocurrency subreddit is not full of children. It`s full with people from the third world countries with their bad english.

unfortunately this is true about every social media platform that people could sign up on and spam in. and that is all thanks to altcoins and their pump and dumps. there is an army of bag holders who think if they advertise the shitcoin they are bag holding they can make back what they have lost so far.
if they spend half the time they spam to learning how the market works they would never lost any money anymore.

as for steemit, i personally don't like it. they mixed money with posting so it became corrupted. now whenever i see a post on steemit my first assumption is that it is a low quality post made to earn money and i prefer not to waste my time.

That sub is full of bagholders of various shitcoins who never miss a chance to shill for their coin. Or maybe that's just paid shills, altcoin marketers will do anything to pump their projects.

Also, what people on that sub have in common is their hatred towards Bitcoin, they all dream that it will die and their shitcoin will become number one, lol.

If I want to read some discussions about altcoins, I usually check Medium or Twitter.

Agreed. Forums and social networking sites are the most probable medium. Since most people has their social media accounts and forums like this already have lots of users. Though social netqorking sites maybe a not so good idea because there are fake accounts being used. It is much more better in forums like this because so far topics and comments here are probably most relevant. Hope more people with facts and lots of information can be shared in here.

Almost all the others are trying to replicate the success of bitcointalk in another way they can deem unique and so as conservative as i am i wouldn't trade this forum for any other even though some telegram channels are doing a fantastic job in this regard.

Twitter should be the way to go, but you need to know who to follow on twitter as there can be many scam and fake accounts who will try to rob you. In that case, do some research from the internet to know about the credibility of the account you are following. Other than that you can try this forum, it has been serving me well for a long time.

Agreed Twitter is a good source but sometimes its hard to select good ones from bad ones
