Title: Curious boy who want to know about merits
Post by: karagun125 on July 27, 2018, 07:01:42 AM
before i get to this site bitcointalk.org i am an online job seeker that looks for a job and get paid easily, i am into a job called facebook commenteers that comments in a facebook post and get paid, 25 comments for 5 usd and i am happy about it, then my next job is to post to a 10 forum threads, to make the story short i found this site bitcointalk.org, first i do not know how to make an account since i registered and it is says there "you are enable to post" a red font. after a few weeks, my friend tells me that there is a job online that earns a coins, same as posting links to be paid, by that my friend introduces to me the bitcoin, that's the first thing i heard about it and he explains to me and yet we go to the internet cafe and ask him to make me an account but when he inputted the website it is the website that i already registered. And by this he teach me on how to enable posting and teach me also the basic thoughts and important rules but not all, and he also said to me about the ranking system and about merits, he is a jr.member same as me but until now, i am curious about what is merit and who deserves to get merit, although many who had post a quality post and yet no merit, and there are also not quite good post but get merited by some. hoping for your concerns my dearest friends.

How merit works has been explained ad nauseam on this board.

If there were demerits I would demerit this post.

If you are looking for an online job, look somewhere else.

This is exactly what's wrong with bitcointalk. You get merits for making posts that others deem merit-worthy. Your basic one/two liners aren't, in my humble opinion. If you want to get merit then you are going to have to put much more effort into your posting to make them stand out. If others find them helpful, informative or entertaining then you may or may not get merits. The more quality posts you make the higher your chances become. You can find everything you need to know about merit and ranks here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0

i am an online job seeker that looks for a job and get paid easily,

This is a forum for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency enthusiasts not a workplace for spammers. That's why you'll have nothing to say that any member here will find interesting enough to give you merit for. Give up working out how to get merit and just accept that you'll always be a Jr. Member spammer.

Thanks for warning us that you are here to rip us off, and not to be a contributing member of the forum, and I have put you on ignore. No doubt others will do this as well. By chasing pennies, and attempting to devalue one of the most useful crypto forums, you are losing out of the chance to build a six figure income from the knowledge you can find here.

I am a merit source, so by being on my ignore list, you will never receive any merits from me, and I haven't even bothered to post the link to my description of the merit system, and the different types of merit that the forum uses.

As an example of the way the merit system works, I have awarded a merit to every person who has posted a criticism of your arrival here.

If you were looking for money by spamming then this is not the right place for you. Maybe you should just stick to your "facebook posting job". Yes, it's true that you can earn money here but we encourage people to earn money by doing good things like posting good posts instead of spamming and by doing good contributions.
By looking at your posts and judging it, you need more improvements, you won't receive a single Merit from anyone and no one will be interested in your posts (except if it's a fellow spammer) if you keep posting spams.

You will just end up being reported and banned if you continue generating spam posts. I'm afraid that it might also happen to your friend. I'm just giving advice.

Edit.
Oh man, I'm still in the reply page when Sir Jets replied.
I think I missed the distribution. Just kidding  ;D

Well, actually this is quite a bit useful, so now we can see in first hand what`s in the mind of the common shitposter/scammer here in the forum.
So. Commonly, a friend who is on a bounty teach another friend how to come into the forum and look at it as a work from the very beginning. Besides, they are so absolutely mistaken about the site itself that they think they have the right to ask about how to earn more money. So the problem is the information they actually have about the forum, and the perspective they approach with.

Ok, "Curious boy". The forum is not a workplace, even when it can become one, this is not the mean purpose of this site. In order to achieve your goal, meaning, earn more money, you need to become a respectable member first in here. How? Well, by showing some concern about the site you are taking as a workplace. You must know about how and why this place was created, by whom, what are the discussions in here, what`s the goal of the site.
If you are intelligent enough, you will investigate how to become a part, a good user, so ranking-up will be easy for you.
This is not only a bounty space where you can come and post whatever crap you have in your mind. This is a community about Bitcoin, founded by the creator of Bitcoin himself.

As well as you learn to have some respect for that, as long as you will to learn, then you will be different from your friend and his $5 per week and become a learner, an informed guy and, who knows, a Bitcoin or crypto expert.

If you just want your pathetic bounty rewards, that`s on you. You are free to be mediocre. This is a place with a lot of opportunities, you just need to have a brain under your skull and to use your patience in order to become different to the 90% of the people in here and their tiny and pathetic rewards.

-snipping obvious bullshit wall of text-

Op if you are coming to this forum to get a living and feeding your bottomfeeder family of 200 village members then you need to get a life and get educated properly for a job. This forum has seen enough of bounty spam and worthless rehashed shitposting that give every member of the forum a retinal detachment and vitreous hemorrhage.

As far as merits are concerned, you wont be getting any if you dont make any quality posts or contribute anything to the forum in terms on content and help others.

So just lock this thread and get a new job (of wait you are not even qualified to get a job) ;D

I`m, afraid, it`s not what in their minds. That would be definitely not in English and you won`t understand a single thought :)
And a few words about "pathetic rewards" if I may. $10 is nothing for you, people, but there are places, where you can buy a food for a week for this amount. So don`t be quick to judge this "curious boy". I know that everyone hates sh*tposters and it`s natural. Yes, he is ignoring great opportunities this forum gives to everyone absolutely free. But it`s not the great opportunities you worry about, when you are hungry.
I`m not trying to justify sh*tposters, just offer you another point of view, so please don`t judge me.
P.S. Not a single capital letter in all post, for God`s sake... Would it stand for a new record?

In order to rank up in forum, merits are necessary. And in order to gain merits from people, posting helpful, good quality and constructive posts are necessary. Merit system was recently introduced on this forum in order to limit the number of spammers and shit posters. Ranking up now is not as easy as it used to be before merit system was implemented. Here are few advantages and disadvantages of merit system :

Advantages :
1. It limits the number of shit posters and spammers that try to rank up through posting useless information and by gaining activities.
2. Introduction of merit system of forum has increased the number of quality, informative and constructive posts.
3. Merit system has limited multiple account users.
4. Account farming has been limited (though not stopped).
5. There has been improvement in overall quality and content of the forum.

Disadvantages :
1. As merit system has made it hard for new users to rank up, Newbies and low rank members are trying to buy high rank accounts.
2. People are abusing the system by buying and selling of merits.
3. It is observed most of the time that people who make good quality and constructive posts are not credited with enough merits or no merits at all and some are credited with more than enough merits for a simple or useless posts.

According to me merit system should exist, but there must also be a side system where appropriate merits are automatically credited to the persons making knowledgeable, helpful, good quality and constructive post. This will ensure that people are fairly credited for their hard work and contribution on this forum.

I`ve already offered an alternative, in fact, I`m trying to encourage the guy. Read my quote again.

Besides, with "pathetic rewards" I mean the cents they don`t even receive in all those airdrops and useless ICOs. I understand very well how is living in the third world since I`m in there. But The attitude is everything in life, you just come to a new place and ask for non-deserved rewards, or you can build yourself, your identity and become someone with an opportunity.

The forum is not a workplace for them. If they want to make money they should get real jobs. Considering the dedication that shitposters give to the forum - they would earn a lot more if they were dedicated and hard-working in a real life job.

The "free" stance is what ruins everything. To earn here from campaigns is a privilege not a right. The "who does not like free money" is the root cause of spam in the forum.

Nobody is judging you. Everyone is expressing their own, personal opinion.

I guess you watch too many of "Getting rich with x easy steps" videos.
Go to school, study hard, get a degree, and then become good at something. Then you don't have to be a lowlife spammer!

But the forum is a workplace for them, whether we like it or not. In fact, for many it is their only workplace now, and they can often earn more here than they can from their job if they have one or can get one (and that's not always easy even in developed countries like the UK with the current economical climate). I've even seen multiple people say they've quit their job to focus on 'bitcointalk' full time, so that just goes to show you how much money there is to be made for them here. Just check the replies to the 'why did you join bitcoin/bitcointalk' threads before they get trashed that pop up everyday and they'll be chock full of people just saying to earn from bounties and 'sign' camps etc.

I'm just wondering sometimes, if Theymos will be fed up with bounty spam and will switch off signatures for a while (e.g. a year) how long would it take for these kind of guys to realize the situation... (and to accept it....)
The merit system was implemented more than a half year ago, and some people are still expecting that the merit system will be shut down and they can spam the hell out of this forum again... I'm sure that most of the farmers haven't left their farmed accounts behind because they are waiting for something to happen that will change everything back like it was before...

Given the mindless and braindead level of understanding these people have they wont realize for several years and they will keep spamming with "when payment" and other bullshit without reading. Because that is what lacks in the present generation. They dont read before they speak. As a result what they speak is often BS or nonsense.

I can guess a large number of farmed accounts to be inactive for the moment. Maybe they are trying to find out loopholes in the system. Its human nature to try to bend every rules for their own advantage.

I think they already did find loopholes, like buying merits/merit exchange, but since merit is not moderated, they still continue to abuse the system.

~snip~

Why don't you go back to your Facebook commenters job? Looks like you don't want to learn about crypto as a whole, but you are here to spam this forum and think of if this is your job. So please stop.

For @karagun125,

Curious boy should want to know how to use the forum search at first.
[Tips] Guide for forum search  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3127909.0)
Using the search function of bitcointalk forum, curious ones can easily find lots of available question for their needs.
Using the function, you can find dozens of topics and thousands of threads related to merit system.
Good luck, fella.

I hope theymos doesn't kill signatures completely, especially when it's all the new idiots who are causing the spam which will effect everyone else. The next step should be removing signatures from everyone except higher ranks after they've achieved the merit to become so. That way signatures are a reward for those who contribute and those who do contribute a lot here won't be penalised and punished for those that don't contribute anything but spam. I think that would be a much better solution than to just go full Armageddon and wipe signatures off the map.

The merit system was implemented more than a half year ago, and some people are still expecting that the merit system will be shut down and they can spam the hell out of this forum again... I'm sure that most of the farmers haven't left their farmed accounts behind because they are waiting for something to happen that will change everything back like it was before...

People are lazy and entitled. For most of these people who complain about merit it's because they know they've got little to no chance of getting any because they have little knowledge about bitcoin and can't speak English proficiently so they know they're going to be stuck on 'minimum wage' forever or for as long as the merit system exists. You've got to remember that most of the people signing up here have been told by someone that they can get money simply for posting, but now this has become a little harder because to get anywhere you need to actually put some effort into your posts and in their mindset that's like snatching money directly out of their hands.
