What exactly are you trying to do and what exactly do you need help with? It's pretty unclear to me what you're asking here..

~~Also, you're talking about the Ledger Nano S https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s, & https://opendime.com, right?

I think what he is trying to say is that if you want to spend bitcoin on open dime, does one need to use Electrum to send to Ledger Nano S or can one send directly to the Nano S.

1. Opendime creates a private & public key pair; it does not have send functionalities, so therefore you need to import the private key on the opendime to Electrum, then send it to the Nano S.

2. If you are using Electrum to view coins on your ledger (view coins and create tx on Electrum but sign on Ledger), then you can sweep coins of the private key straight without having to create a new wallet which will save some time

For solution 1, when creating a new Electrum wallet, select 'Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys' then paste the private key you got from your opendime into the box.

For solution 2, load the wallet file, then click Wallet > Private keys > Sweep. This will 'sweep' or send all coins associated with the address of the inserted private key to an address in your wallet, creating a transaction.

The 'Address' you see in the last screenshot is the address in your wallet that the coins will be sent to.

Hopefully this helps.

I think we can ignore this now. I started typing this reply before you replied.

Hey bob123.Thanks for help.It seems odd that i cant send btc direct to nano when it has a btc receive address.Do you why i have to send via electrum etc ? Not doubting your info btw, just learning. : )
[/quote

This is because opendime isn't a traditional wallet that can send and receive, it is just a private-public key pair.

Hey tarball. Thanks for help ,very usefull to see electrum wallet . So,i think i need option 2 (sweep funds) ,as i just want to get btc onto nano.  i,m still warey of exposing private keys on my laptop during process: i,m pretty sure laptop is safe (did full scan) and know to go offline before sweeping .This is because its a large-ish amount, and new territory for me. Anything i,m missing ? Or is that the only way(temporerilly exposing private keys.? Thanks again for any more advise.: )

rich1616, you open thread with same question here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4744436.0 and you get the answer to your question. You need to use private key/s from OpenDime wallet in a way to first import them to wallet which support importing of private keys, in this case good choice is Electrum (but be sure ti use only legit wallet from https://electrum.org/#home ) and you have good step by step guide from tarball.

You can not send BTC direct to Ledger Nano S because hardware wallet is not support importing of private keys, so you need Electrum as an intermediary for that. Since you clean your PC and if you install Electrum just import private keys in Electrum, wait for wallet for sync and then send all balance minus fee to Ledger Nano S.

I think my solution 2 was misunderstood. This is if you use Electrum to view your balance rather than Ledger Live. One would have needed to create their wallet this way:

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/472495935222579200/472877748541718538/unknown.png

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/472495935222579200/472880283968995339/unknown.png

As you can see on the bottom right of the 2nd screenshot, you can see the Ledger icon, indicating that this wallet was set up with a ledger hardware wallet.

You then sweep coins by inserting the private key.

By doing this method, you can actually send straight to the Nano S without having to create an new wallet to import privkeys. But this is assuming you use Electrum with the Nano S not Ledger Live or the Chromium extension.
