Tired of doing my own Excel reports, I decided to create a new site similar to google finance but for cryptos. You can create a portfolio to know your wealth, your profits, etc.


It's 100% free and anonymous.

By the way, how difficult it is to create such a website? I would like to learn to do it.

This is awesome.  Looks nice, works well, easy to use.  One problem that I have with it is that my portfolio changes all the time.  Either I'm using some of my crypto, or trading it, or whatever.  What I was wondering is, instead of entering a type of currency and an amount, could you enter a type of currency and an address?  Then it could track for you how much belongs to that address.

Unless I'm understanding the way the block explorers work, I thought you could know how much currency there is in any address.  Maybe this won't work, but it sure would be cool.

I was going to make a spreadsheet but this also is a great idea especially for coin noobs like me. I have around 8 exchanges so far and maybe downloaded over 20 wallets and counting lol s this is awesome thanks! ;D

well, I need a blockexplorer for each coin, im investigating about it... I was thinking in build my own "block explorer" for alt coins, but I'm not sure about it yet.

I'm working in some improvements. For instance: we created a new price index, very accurate (CF Price Index).

Also we are adding constantly new coins.

Now we are developing the "bought price" to track your performance from the moment you purchase a coin

I noticed you use Crypto-Trade for the LTC/BTC market, wouldn't it better to use BTC-e?

I noticed that you have implemented A LOT of the coins that I requested last month. Many many thanks for that!

I encourage you to put this on your feature request list:

* I would like to change the "old price" manually, because I bought coins in another moment than I entered them into your site.
* If I click on the distribution pie chart, it would be nice to get a larger version, with more coins shown.

And a bit more complex: As I have a bunch of low number and low price coins = low "USD wealth", they should disappear out of my daily routine, it would be enough to check them weekly or even monthly.  I see several solutions:
Either I can export my data (just the coin names and balances), edit it manually, and re-import those ones into a second portfolio (with another hashkey).
Or we get either something like a query language / filter mechanism ("drop all coins below/above 1 USD").
Or a manual grouping into group1 group2 group3.

A thought: On CryptoRush slowly but surely all coins' prices are blown up out of proportion, because people are willing to loose 50%, if they can only get their money out.  Looking at my coins, I think: Oh wow, I could sell this - but then I see, the price is only that good at cryptorush. And I am happy to have most of my stuff out of there, cryptorush is out of bounds for me right now.

I guess where you have coins traded in several exchanges, you always choose the exchange with the highest buy offer, or highest last trade, right?

Until cryptorush recovers (i.e. all wallets are refilled so that withdrawing in any currency is working again), it would make sense for coinfinance to either switch off cryptorush completely, or to give us the option to switch off and on each exchange selectively.

agreed.  Cryptorush is blowing coin prices and variation percentages way out of proportion.  It would be best to drop the exchange from the listings until is is more in line with the other exchanges.  Oh, and thank you coinfinance for creating such a beautiful site.

You need to calculate the variation% differently when there are several "buy" transactions at different prices for the same coin.  At the moment you simply add up all percentages? ;-)


Instead you would rather calculate
how much BTC was each time spent for the coins
(multiply each number of coins with price on that day),
then add up all those BTC values, and divide it by the total number of altcoins.

Then you get the average price that I paid on the different days
( = my total BTC spent ... divided by my total altcoin balance)

With that average price you can do the "variation%" comparison.

I am completely changing my portfolio right now, getting rid of tons of old coins.

I would just LOVE to have the option to press "copy"
i.e. copy the WHOLE table of ALL my coins to a second portfolio - and put that aside. It simply gets a second hash.

A snapshot in time. Then I can later go back, and compare what would have happened if I didn't sell.


I think that is not difficult to implement? But it could have numerous useful applications.

It depends, each coin has it default market/exchange. You can check what is using by putting your mouse over the BTC price at the overview section of each currency (http://coinfinance.com/currencies/DOGE (http://coinfinance.com/currencies/DOGE))

There is a bug in the "VARIATION %" calculation
if a coin appears twice (e.g. bought at two exchanges, or at two prices last week and this week).

You correctly sum up the quantity, BTC wealth and EUR wealth.
But it's wrong to sum up the percentage gains.


Instead like this:

Sum up all the QUANTITY * each BOUGHT PRICE for this coin
( that is --> total BTC spent to get the total quantity)
Divide that by the total quantity. You get the overall price I paid.

Relate that price to the current price, and you'll get the "VARIATION %"

Cryptsy is total crap for traders, extremely many issues. If you trade there, you get used to writing support tickets all day. It might have been an important platform in the past, but the better replaces the old. And as they costed me real money due to their lagginess, I am not even sorry. May they live in peace, but I am happy to have alternatives:

Thanks for the update. I guess these collisions are bound to happen - it's what happens when there is no central authority issuing ISO codes. It's just unfortunate that it clashes with a coin that doesn't typically trade $50 in volume in a day.

Could you please improve the "historical price" pages? The biggest improvement would be if the historical prices would go back further -- as far as you can. LTC only goes back to July 26.

Other enhancements would be:
- Add volume information. Volume can be either in the altcoin, in the base currency (BTC or USD), or both.
- Sort by date in ascending (instead of descending) order.
- State the base currency. It's BTC for all the alts and USD for BTC.
- State which exchange the data is from.

Can you please add functionality to enable multiple sources for the same coin. For example, I store bitcoins in a local wallet, on coinbase and cryptsy. Not being able to select multiple sources and distribution makes tracking the portfolio changes difficult after each trade.

We have some ideas... like tracking from cryptsy or from the blockchain.
