Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) - Announces Neoscrypt Algorithm Fork
Post by: odyssey on February 20, 2014, 02:30:19 AM

We appreciate your taking time to visit us here at Imperial Coin (IPC) !!!  There are so many cryptocurrencies out there that come and go so quickly - many without focus or the technical or customer support structure in place for the long term for users needing a stable coin.  Imperial Coin has recently upgraded its technical specifications and refocused its direction to better support its target markets.  Imperial Coin is not just any cryptocurrency – it is an activity-specific cryptocurrency that is focused on providing a safe and secure transaction alternative for online users in these targeted business areas that typically have a difficult time acquiring reliable and yet inexpensive payment systems.

IPC has had miners mining since late December.  Check the launch dates of Facebook and the registration dates of the domain names. Just because there are no announcements in forums, does not mean they are not launched and moving forward my friend.

IMP has no domain names registered, no references, no code, no coin design, no websites, no coins, no trading and no sales -just ONE single post until today.  IPC has multiple websites, mining pools, over 100 active users, over 200 Facebook likes and shares, a beautiful trademarked coin design, 20 million coins in circulation and daily sales of coins on Ebay and other sites.  All users are very happy so far with IPC.  We do not appreciate your threats over much hard work.  We will not post any more in your thread and appreciate if you stay out of ours.  Your post we saw just this week and appeared dead to us, since you ignored everyone for weeks who asked you questions and status, we responded.

Again we do not take kindly to threats made by some one who chooses to trash us in the forums with absolutely no proof of what they have and ignore facts that we present.  You have no idea who you are dealing with on this end either my friend or the financial resources we have to make IPC successful.  Regardless, of what ever the official launch date of IPC may be, it is off an running.  You cannot and will not shut it down I think.  At this point, you have not launched at all !!!! You made a preliminary announcement (after IPC was being mined) in January and ignored everyone for 6 weeks and you still have no coin or proof of work to show anyone - just talk.  Good luck my friend.  Please discontinue your trash talk - it is wasted here.....Unless you have something of your own to show everyone - We do not have time for forum bickering, we are moving forward....Good luck to you sir.

Sir, it is unfortunate that you continue to struggle with and ignore the facts, reality and make threats, while IPC miners continue to mine and sell coins.   IPC is alive and well while IMP or whatever you may choose to call it in the future has not even been born yet.  The reality is that people are already making money with IPC - it is a real coin and not just idle talk.

LOL, and the pool manager at IPCMiners.com informs me that you are now mining IPC at IPCMiners.com - how funny is that !!!!  Thanks for signing up.  However, I think it best if you move your mining to P2Pools  -  you have trashed us in the forums, we do not want you to affect the mining activities of our dedicated IPC miners!  We hope your intent was not to sabotage our efforts, by SPAM, DDOS or other means.  As a coin developer, I hope you are above that.  We are happy for you to mine IPC, we thing it best if you do it in the new FREE P2Pool.  Please provide us your new IPC wallet address and we will make sure you get your coins once they complete the confirmation cycle.

We appreciate the support we have from our miners and those who have purchased IPC and will continue to devote 110% of our resources and energy to make IPC successful for a very long time.  We still have our Facebook bonuses through the end of March!!!

deeppurple72, thanks for calling our attention to the new pool.  We knew another one was out there from the network hashing rate, but had not found it yet.  I gave the information to our webmaster and he will update it on the main Imperial Coin website.

Alexrey, thank you very much for your positive feedback on our logo and coin design - our designer did a wonderful job creating a very desirable coin we think.  In regards, to exchanges, we have submitted our information to several exchanges and they are reviewing our information for listing purposes.  Each exchange has their own criteria to be accepted and different lengths of review time.  As soon as we are accepted on any exchange, we will make sure we list it here for sure.

Well, I think I can help solve some of the confusion.  While I am a newbie to this forum, I have been mining IPC for over two months and have successful sales on Ebay.  So when I found this forum and series of posts, I thought I would Fact Check some of the things odyssey mentioned.

Fact #1:  Domain Name IMPERIALCOIN.ORG shows to be registered on 30 NOV 2013 (the dot ORG is what Bitcoin and Litecoin use, so this is a very credible choice) and is the primary website for Imperial Coin (Before January 1 - TRUE)

Fact #2:  Imperial Coin Facebook pages shows it to be launched December 14 - that sounds like the official launch date to me! They had over 200 followers after that and I was one of them!!! There are numerous posts immediately including nice pictures of the coins (Before January 1 - TRUE)

Fact #3:  I used the IPC Blockchain Explorer on ImperialCoin.org and checked it against blocks I am mining now and it is accurate.  I checked to see when Block #1 was mined - 4 December 2014!  (BEFORE January 1 - TRUE)

So it appears that everything odyssey said about being up and running well before January 1 is accurate, the fact he was slow to post things here does not matter much when you have 200 followers already and are mining away.  Additionally, as one of the longest users of IPC I think, I can attest that the customer service provided by the IPC team has been very good to this point and I have no complaints.  I hope this eliminates the confusion over who really came first and who has a real coin in circulation.

Title: Lots of Imperial Coin (IPC) FREE Bonuses to Fill Your New IPC Wallet
Post by: odyssey on March 21, 2014, 11:03:40 PM
Just a reminder that we still have our Facebook and Twitter bonuses going.  LIKE us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ipcoin) and get 100 FREE IPC (leave your IPC Address in the Comments).  Follow us on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/impcoin) and get 100 FREE IPC (again tweet us your IPC address)

Now that we have a solid following, a stable mining pool and are starting to be exchanged in several exchanges, we are working on developing our market place where IPC can actually be used to buy things. As such we are offering the following bounties/bonuses paid in IPC to those who can help us with the following…….

1) Credible mining pools that mine at a rate of least 5MH/s IPC for a week – 50,000 IPC
2) Established online businesses who agree to add IPC as a payment method for their goods or services – 50,000 IPC
3) Payment processors who agree to add IPC as a payment option on their payment system - 100,000 IPC
4) Cryptocurrency trade exchanges that agree to add us - 10,000 IPC

As we add each of these, we will broadcast the info on Facebook, Twitter and list them on our website and our thread here!

Excellent news - Imperial Coin (IPC) now has a published market price and 4-5 exchanges now working to add IPC to their exchange.  Thanks to Bittrex.com, it looks like we have a starting market price for IPC now.  We are seriously working to get listed on several other exchanges now and have no negative feedback on our coin, our solid infrastructure or long term marketing - only good news so far.  Hopefully, that will be help our price grow.  We hope that now that we have one or more places to sell our IPC, that the pool mining activities will increase!

FYI, today we are upgrading our network to add more nodes and connections to make sure IPC moves in and out of the new exchanges that we are on at a faster pace.  This should bring us up to a level with the major coins and get our confirmations moving much faster.  Thanks so much for your patience and support.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) Trade Exchange Listings
Post by: odyssey on April 02, 2014, 03:30:28 PM
We have the two primary ones listed on our website and in this forum (Bittrex.com and Comkort) where there are buys and sells listed.  We are now also listed on http://www.cryptotc.us.  This is a new exchange which looks to be very good - just completing Beta Test and decided to add us also.

In total, we are now listed on 3 exchanges.  There are 2-3 others that are considering us.  Something to keep in mind is that while it is great to be listed on multiple exchanges, too many exchange listings could dilute the trading of the smaller exchanges. So we are trying to be careful where we get listed.  So far, we are very happy with these 3 exchanges where Imperial Coin (IPC) is listed.

Additionally, we are listed for voting to get on two more exchanges at Mintpal.com and CryptoRush.in.  Both require a significant amount of votes or BTC to be listed.  It is a lot more difficult to get listed anywhere now than it used to be - a lot of support is required.  We were successful with Comkort in getting voted in a few weeks back and are preparing to focus our efforts on the next exchange.  Any help our users and miners can supply is always appreciated!  Finally, we have had some talks with a payment processor - but that takes a lot to get added or supported by one of those.  We are working on meeting their requirements now.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) - Over 25 Million Coins Mined and Trading
Post by: odyssey on April 15, 2014, 04:42:03 AM
We just mined Block #25137.  This means we now have over 25 million IPC in circulation - thanks to all our dedicated miners for making that possible.  We see some trades starting to occur on all three exchanges where we are listed now with some regularity.  If you cannot mine IPC, you can buy or trade for it at Bittrex.com, Comkort.com and CryptoKK.com.

Title: Get FREE IPC on CryptoKK - Join the Treasure Hunt!
Post by: odyssey on April 15, 2014, 02:52:24 PM
We are giving away FREE IPC on CryptoKK this week - anywhere from 100 to 1000 IPC at a time.  CryptoKK has a nice little feature called a TipBot.  This allows us to create a tip for any amount with a unique URL.  So we will be creating these at random times and posting them anywhere across our network - Facebook, Twitter, BitCoinTalk, our website blog, our forum or even the Chat box on CryptoKK.  All you do when you find one, is click on the URL and that amount goes into your CryptoKK account that can then be traded for any of over 50 other cryptocurrencies.  Is that great or what?  The first one is the easiest.......Here it is.....

http://www.cryptokk.com/?tip=ozgRP6rskHvD3Gve

Whoever claims it first please let us know!!!

Title: Please assist a NEWBIE - connection issues
Post by: MoreGuney on May 22, 2014, 01:39:40 AM
Used to connect.....not sure what happened.  But just no connectin at all anymore, no matter how long I leave the wallet open.  :(  So I deleted this installation, delete from appdata\roaming, (kept the wallet.dat, of course), downloaded from the site, installed the new wallet, put the original wallet.dat into the appdata\roaming folder and ......nothing, no connection at all.  Can someone provide any ideas please?  I just mined a bunch of coins so would love to get them to the wallet.  :(

Thank you so very much in advance!

Title: Re: The Original Imperial Coin just Launched in Dec 2013
Post by: odyssey on May 22, 2014, 03:19:28 AM
We see no issues.  All our wallets are syncing up in about 30 seconds.  Of course, if you have not connected in a long time, it could take a longer time than normal to connect.  Not sure where you are mining.  If you are mining the primary IPC mining pool at IPCMiners.com, everything appears normal there.  Any other pools we cannot speak of.....

Title: Re: The Original Imperial Coin just Launched in Dec 2013
Post by: MoreGuney on May 22, 2014, 09:19:44 PM
Honest, it just doesn't connect.  I even used the "impcoin-qt.exe -connect=162.208.11.45" to start...same thing.  I'm kind of technically challenged, but this is from the log during the last time I opened the wallet.  Oh, and I am mining on the proper pool.  (IPCminer.com)

Anything at all you can advise?  I'm really sorry to be a bother.

Well. we just closed three wallets on different computers and opened them all back up with no issues.  You could try the add node option with 198.27.109.80 - use just one and see if that helps some. As far as we know, you are the only one having this issue.  Have you tried it without your old wallet.dat file?  Maybe the old one got corrupted some way.

Thanks again.

Put these in your config file......

addnode=162.208.11.45
addnode=198.27.109.80

not sure if these will help or not, but we have miners mining thousands of coins all day now to the pool and then withdrawing it on a regular basis to their wallets.  So it does not appear anything in our network is not working.  You have mined with us before and withdrawn the coins - not sure what else in your system might have changed.

Post by: odyssey on June 01, 2014, 06:53:15 PM
All, just to let you know to stay tuned to our Twitter page and this thread.  We have started work on some serious upgrades to Imperial Coin (IPC) that will make us stand above many others.  Additionally, we will have some added features that other coins have not added or even thought of yet.  Not sure how long it will take us to roll these in and get them checked out.  Please keep supporting IPC with mining and on the Comkort and AllCrypt Exchanges for now.

I've put these in a config file (it's the only thing in the config file....)  still nothing.  So frustrating.  Should the config file be in the IPC folder or in the appdata \ roaming folder?  If that doesnt work, I'm giving up.

Thanks for all your patience.

You config file needs more than that and should be in the IPC folder in the Roaming/App Data directory......something like this should work.......make sure it is properly named ImperialCoin.conf file

testnet=0
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=userpassword
gen=0
genproclimit=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Title: Updated Imperial Coin (IPC) in Work - Fork Coming
Post by: odyssey on June 14, 2014, 09:49:27 PM
All, just to let you know that we will be taking a fork on Imperial Coin (IPC) in the next few days for the better.  As you know it is very competitive out there for coins now and it costs lots of money to get on exchanges and get retailers to use you.  While we are very happy with our 6 month performance to date, we thought that Imperial Coin could use some improvements that could help its value in the long term and prove to everyone that Imperial Coin is going to be here for a very long time.  While these are not what we consider significant changes, they do put us ahead of about 75% of the other coins floating around.  The changes that we can disclose are as follows:

1) Improved peer matching
2) Extraneous code cleanup to improved space requirements and coin efficiency
3) Full implementation of Deep Gravity Well 3 (DGW3)

We will continue to look for new ways to improve the coin going forward to make it competitive with other coins.  Several exchanges and retailers that we have talked with are looking forward to our changes and have committed to list us once we are done with the upgrades.  We will announce in this thread and Twitter when the changes are done and the new source and wallets are available.  At that time, EVERYONE will need to upgrade their wallets to take advantage of the changes and to stabilize the network.  We sincerely appreciate your support for the past 6 months and patience while we make the upgrades over the next few days.

OK, we are rolling in all the above changes which should significantly help the value of Imperial Coin and keep it competitive moving forward for a long time.  We hope to have the new source code available within 1-2 days with a Windows Wallet.  In a few days, we will also roll out both a 32 and 64 bit Linux wallet and a MacOS wallet.  Once those are done, we will update our block explorer and then launch or full scale marketing program which has been on hold till we get the coin updated.  Pending those changes, a couple of exchanges have agreed to list us.  But we have a lot of work to do first!  Thanks for supporting Imperial Coin (IPC) - the original one. We will make announcements here and on Twitter as the changes occur.  We look forward to all the new features and listing on more exchanges!

Title: Re: Updated Imperial Coin (IPC) in Work - Fork Coming - DGW3 is Here
Post by: odyssey on June 28, 2014, 03:31:14 AM
The new source code is available and on GitHub.  Please download it and use it.  The wallets will be added over the next few days - we will have two Linux wallets (64bit and 32bit), a Windows Wallet and and MacOS Wallet available. New code has DGW 3 incorporated into it.  However, it is designed to delay implementation until July 15.  This should give everyone time to get the new wallets and the source code.  Once this is done we have some announcements with new pools and new exchanges.  Thanks so much for your continued support !!!

Positioning UseCryptos.com regarding the ImperialCoin (IPC or IMP) name claim.

Is not our responsibility to decide who can or cannot use the name. I am not in any way taking credit of any coin, but we thought that the community is actually who decide which coin is the right one.

So what we can do?
Since both coins have different symbols and logos, we will placed both coins in our voting page, and if one of them wins, that one will be placed on our markets and we will remove the other.

So, from my understanding, you've sprung to life... just to bring down IMP. Bud, let me explain something. You can keep trying to bring us down by getting listed on the same exchanges as IMP, but it won't work. You'll put a Bitcoin into the voting address, we'll put in 4. Also, why bring it down? Can altcoins just get along with each other? We didn't want to compete with IPC, but, you've made it happen. Also, your coin's scrypt, right? Are you going to hardfork it over to another algo to make it "ASIC-resistant?"

You want a fight, IMP will give you a war.

Sprung to life???  We never went anywhere.  It is good to see that you among others follow our coin and thread here and are so interested to hear about the upgrades we have made to our coin.  We will continually look to improve our coin to stay competitive and current on coin technology.  Yes, ASIC -resistance is an option we are considering - one step at a time though.

In regards to a war, we resent that statement sir, or son. The crypto currency business is very competitive.  You have probably figured that out since you are out of school for the summer.  It must be nice to have the extra time to have nothing to do but sit around and vote on exchanges - I am sure your users appreciate that.  As do ours, who look for us to continually promote Imperial Coin (IPC) in all our targeted markets and gain listings on as many exchanges as possible to provide as many exchange options for our potential end-users as we can.  This is called promotion, marketing, competition, not war. The marketing group we have hired assured us maximum visibility and that is what we paid them for.  If that causes you grief, you are free to do the same with your coin - I would think your users are looking to you to do the same, not whine about and threaten other coins.

And finally, YOU were the one who named your coin the same as ours AFTER ours was going. YOU were the one who threatened us and said stay out of your forum thread and no talk of our coin.  And now you come and threaten us again and crap in our thread.  While Imperial Coin (IPC) users are entertained by your immaturity I am sure, they do not appreciate it any more than we do.  Please do what you must to support your own coin, but do NOT come into our thread and threaten our coin and users.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) Upgrade Fork V1.2 - Now with DGW3
Post by: odyssey on July 03, 2014, 12:10:40 AM
We have just upgraded the source code again to Version 1.2.  There were some syncing issues with 1.1 and we added a patch that solves the problem.  Like before, the source code is available in the same place on Github and the IPC V1.2 Windows wallet is downloadable from the link in this thread or our website.  The two Linux wallets and Apple MacOS wallet will be available for download within 48 hours if not sooner.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  But in our rush to get the DGW3 and some other features into the upgrade, our testing was not as thorough as previous.  The new wallet syncs much quicker.  Additionally, we will be bringing a few more nodes on line in a few days as insurance for the long term.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE DGW3 FEATURE IS NOT OPERATIONAL YET AND WILL BECOME ACTIVE ON JULY15 TO GIVE EVERYONE TIME TO UPGRADE THEIR WALLETS !

Title: Re: Imperial Coin (IPC) Upgrade Fork - Now with DGW3
Post by: odyssey on July 03, 2014, 10:59:45 PM
As promised, we just finished compiling and uploading the new Linux wallets (32bit and 64bit Ubuntu) to the main website.  The links are on the first post of this thread that we update on a regular basis.  The Apple MacOS wallet will be out shortly.  Some businesses have inquired as to an Android wallet and if we will be doing one of them.  The answer is "yes" - But not immediately.  Once we see a greater demand for one, we will build one and make it available.  They are much more expensive to create and until we see the need for one and multiple users requesting them, we will hold off.

Are there any changes in the config file with the new wallets?   And what happens on July 15, when the changes take effect?

Title: Re: Imperial Coin (IPC) Upgrade Fork - Now with DGW3
Post by: odyssey on July 03, 2014, 11:27:43 PM
Are there any changes in the config file with the new wallets?   And what happens on July 15, when the changes take effect?

Answer 1 - There should be no changes in your config file that you were using on the previous versions.  We are only showing two seed nodes at this time in our recommended config file.  So we plan on adding 3 more nodes over the weekend for long term stability of IPC and better connectivity.

Answer 2 - When we inserted DGW3 into our source code, it is a fork as to how our difficulty change is calculated and a potential impact to our miners.  In our minds it is a substantial improvement, solves a problem we have seen over the past few months and makes IPC so much better for the smaller miners.  So we decided to hold off rolling it in to operation for two weeks to give everyone a chance to get the new wallet.  When you load your new wallet now and move your wallet.dat file, you will see no change in the operation of your wallet. Both wallets operate the same today.  Right now, there are both old and new wallets on the network as people slowly change over.  On July 15, the old wallets will stop working or at best will not work very well and will have to upgraded to the new wallets to function properly.  Again, we were trying to give our users time to upgrade to the new wallets, rather than killing everyone's wallet the day we forked.  This would have been bad news for the 3 exchanges we have now and the new one who is loading our new source code as I write this. Hopefully, that answers your questions!   Thanks for your support of IPC!!!

This is a great article on Imperial Coin (IPC) that was published on Saturday, July 5.  Almost immediately, we picked up about 30 new Twitter followers, plus a few miners I see!  We have more articles like this coming out over the next week, so we will be creating a "Publicity" section to list them all to keep track of them.  We also try and list them here as they are published.  This way our users can reference them when they want to and the authors will get back links when we are done.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) Status Update - 6 July 2014
Post by: odyssey on July 06, 2014, 07:38:27 PM
Since most of our users tend to monitor this thread, we will try and give periodic updates to let you know our recent accomplishments and what we have planned looking forward.

1) The launch of our fork was delayed, but eventually rolled out and Version 1.2 should be the version of wallet that everyone has.  Additionally, we rolled out two Linux wallets and an Apple MacOS wallet for our users convenience. We need to make sure everyone upgrades to 1.2 BEFORE July 15 when the DGW3 codes becomes effective.  All exchanges and all pools have upgraded to date.

2) The addition of the 3 extra nodes seems to have improved connectivity and stability on the network significantly. Please makes sure that you list all 5 nodes in your config file.

3) We were listed for trading on Bleutrade and we are seeing some good activity there.  We won the vote on UseCryptos.com Trading Exchange on Saturday for this week with your support and will be listed there for trading early next week - giving us another great market to trade IPC.

4) We are now listed on CryptoCoinRank.com and have an actual market value that we hope to see grow over the next few weeks!

5) We have a new marketing company helping us promote Imperial Coin and you should start seeing articles, blogs, ads, etc. for ImperialCoin popping up in many place! We will create a Publicity section so you can keep track of them (BIG article on BIG website coming out soon!)

6) We added another mining pool that is multi-pool MPOS Version 2 type for IPC mining. This means you only need one login to switch between pools.  We are seeing a big jump in mining with this extra pool added in.

As you can see the ImperialCoin Team has been working hard for our users and community this week.  We have plotted our course forward and ask for your continued support in bringing in small businesses needing a reliable payment system - we are working with a few now to show them how we can help them and reduce their costs.  FYI, we have nice bounties available for those who choose ImperialCoin to help them!

Great surge in mining activity today - up to 75 MH/s which is great news.  That being said, after seeing sales of 500,000 coins for between 9-15 in the past 24 hours, some one decides to dump theirs at 1....with nothing but good news out there anywhere about Imperial Coin (IPC). Well, there are sell walls which provide great buying opportunities for us all.  We bought back 150,000 coins this morning on one exchange for 1, moved them to another and sold 50,000 for 9 - what a deal!  Thanks so much to the dumper - keep up the good work?  I would encourage everyone to get in while prices are low most notably on Comkort now before they change their mind about loosing money on IPC.  Also, we note a lot of good activity on the IPC/LTC exchanges - appears there are lots of arbitrage opportunities for all of us now - have fun!

We are pleased to let you know that our DGW3 upgrade to the code is now complete and everyone running the new wallets has that feature in their code activated.  It was timed to become effective on July 15 and is now working just fine.  Our difficulty factor now adjusts EVERY block.  This is great news for our miners, who do not have to worry about whales showing up like last week and increasing the difficulty and then leaving it very high.  Now, we have a more equitable mining situation for all.  If for some reason, you still have your original wallet, please upgrade now!

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) Upgrade Fork Complete - Status Update
Post by: odyssey on July 15, 2014, 05:36:05 PM
We have seen a lot of good news for IPC over the past week and we thought that we would update you a litle of what we have in work.  While our marketing efforts were delayed a few weeks due to some serious family issues for our promoter, next week should see more activity on the web for IPC when he is back. Here is what we can share as for our current and future plans (appreciate you feedback and comments or additional ideas).

1) As always, we are trying to get listed on more exchanges - to increase our visibility and hopefully our market price over time - your voting help on these would be great.  We have been adding about one exchange a week for several weeks now and hope to add one more early next week if the voting continues at its current pace.  For those that are helping with the voting on the 3-4 exchanges where they are being counted - we appreciate your support!
2) We are continually looking for and talking with online businesses in our target area about adding IPC as a payment option - a never ending task - the more activity we see in this forum and our Facebook and Twitter pages, the better for that effort.
3) We are in the process of targeting the best websites for banner advertising to place our banners on.  We have been running on 3 websites this week and will be increasing that to 5 next week, with one having about 50,000 pageviews per day - that should give us some good visibility in our target marketing area!  Any recommendations on your part or good sites to advertise on are appreciated - feel free to PM us - do not post it here!
4) We have several articles released on several websites as you have seen with the addition of our new publicity section and many more will follow - it takes a while to get them written, approved and published - this is an ongoing effort.
5) We gave an interview yesterday to a crypto currency website about our coin and how we stack up with other competitors - THEY CAME TO US FOR THE INTERVIEW!!! We were very surprised by the info request.
6) We have plans for an android wallet, but have delayed that till the Fall.  We have the programmer on standby when we are ready to proceed with that.  It is not cheap and we would prefer to wait till we have a few online businesses using IPC before jumping into the Android market - for now, we supply all other types of wallets for our users.

There are a few other exciting things planned and in work - we are just not ready to share them today.  We will try and provide regular updates on what is going one.  So beneath the surface of this forum, there is a LOT of activity and things going on with Imperial Coin.  We can always use more help and support.  We appreciate your support of Imperial Coin!!!

Haha! Looks like the only way you were able to get on to AllCoin is by donating 0.3+ BTC! Also, I'm going to say it. This coin is a SCAM! How is it a scam? Well, you were docked nearly 700 votes yesterday. Something tells me you were looking for a way to get on another exchange without spending a dime. i.e. creating FAKE Twitter accounts, using a "Follow4Follow" program, hitting 50, and getting +50 votes over there. Didn't think they could catch on, eh? Oops! They did. Bud, you obviously don't know the value of money if it'd hit you in the head. You don't just senselessly throw 0.3 BTC out there (worth about $185 at this second) just to try to ruin another coin. We will thrive, no matter what you try to do to it. So, your little "plan" is failing. "Plan" being to get IMP kicked off of voting lists like you did with useCryptos. AllCoin knows we have more support. You just had more money.

Wow , a lot of serious unfounded accusations.  No one in this thread really cares.  We would appreciate it if you could keep your immature and unprofessional behavior and threats in your own thread.  I am sure that all IPC users are happy that their developer spent money to promote our coin......We plan on doing that many more times. It is unfortunate that you continue to try and trash our successes.  We wish you well, but do it on your own, not by trying to trash and threaten us.

Immature?! And, I'm pretty sure you don't have many supporters. If you did, they would be voting for your coin. You wouldn't have to pay. Also, nice job on dodging the scam part of my statement.

Well, with each response, you further prove our point. That your primary marketing plan for your coin consists of trashing ours in hopes of making yours look better. We seriously doubt a scam coin would still be spending money marketing and promoting their coin 8 months after launch.  A scam coin would not offer 4 types of wallets and have more in development.....I could go on, but that is more than adequate I think and enough time wasted for today.....Best do something positive for your own coin and not waste more time and energy here.

Hi all. Anyone from the IPCMiners.com pool here? I have been waiting for a couple day for confirmations on some unconfirmed coins, have sent a couple of emails to support but no reply. Can someone look into this and give it a big kick if that's what it needs :).
Thanks

We were correct - they have not upgraded to the new code yet.  It appears there are several out there that have not and we think they are doing it now.  Once they do, we will put some miners there also to check it out to make sure.

Like we said in the last post - they are not sure if they upgraded their code to 1.2 as we thought they had. If you were mining on July 17, with a difficulty of 10, they were definitely on the old source code - since DGW3 started on July 15.  So if you were mining and appeared to find a block, it would show that - However, after 120 confirmations (120 more blocks), those blocks could not be confirmed and were listed as orphaned - the other pool got them and no coins awarded to you. You have orphaned blocks, not coins.  The coins were never awarded to your account as the blocks were orphaned - it appears from what we see the other pool had those blocks.  One pool will not get all the coins of course.  We have a help ticket in with them to upgrade it - which they just acknowledged this morning.  We see someone mining there this morning and they just found a block - unconfirmed yet.   We will put some miners there later today to make sure it is working and post an announcement.

According to the pool stats, I found all those blocks listed for 7/17, if they were found by me on this pool, how could they have went to another pool? Idiot who runs this site needs to be fired and the site shutdown. I wasted a whole day of hashing and electrical power mining, Should send the idiot my electrical bill. No more mining IPC for me............

The site is a standard MPOS pool - there are hundreds out there running the same scrypt the same way.  There is nothing wrong with the pool other than that they had an older version of our source code and were slow to upgrade by 2 days.  Orphaned coins are a fact of life and an inconvenience to all of us.  You do NOT officially find a block and claim the coins until it is confirmed (120 confirmation = 120 more blocks) - this NEVER happened - yours blocks that you appeared to find, were NEVER confirmed - the scrypt and the pool behaved as it should based on the conditions, since it appears they were running 1.1 and not 1.2.  The pool at that time was not operating correctly with the rest of the network, so anything mined during that time would have been orphaned - that is probably why no one else was mining there while you were.  Firing them is not an option for us - they are aware of the new code and will be upgrading today we hope. This pool will be fixed and there are others running and mining just fine.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) Banner Farm
Post by: odyssey on July 21, 2014, 07:44:56 PM
We have the Official ImperialCoin Banner Farm up and running now.  These are banners for your websites and for potential retailers and online businesses to use.  FYI, we have quite a few paid advertisements for ImperialCoin (IPC) that started this morning and many will be using these banners.  We have a few more in work that are more generic in nature that will be added to the Banner Farm page over the next few days.  Here is the link to the farm and we have attached a few samples......

Title: ImperialCoin (IPC) Now on CoinMarketCap.com
Post by: odyssey on July 22, 2014, 03:18:21 PM
ImperialCoin (IPC) is now on Coin Market Cap and has a market value of about $4,000 for our 41,000,000 IPC out there right now.

http://www.coinmarketcap.com

This appears to be the same price range as on the other Coin Price Index sites - all are listed above. We are seeing a huge surge in mining at IPCMiners.com (almost 100MH/s last night) and good buying on all the exchanges. We have a few big announcements over the next two weeks - hopefully those, plus our marketing blitz will help bring prices up even more! Thanks for your ongoing support of IPC!

Title: Re: Imperial Coin (IPC) - Crypto Currency for the 21st Century
Post by: odyssey on July 24, 2014, 12:03:31 AM
We are seeing a surge of followers on Twitter, which is great news.  Mostly people and businesses who do not normally deal with crypto currency are following us - either out of curiosity or a genuine need for a payment system in the near future.  So our advertising is having a positive effect there!  They consist of quite a diverse group and all seem to be in our area of focus.

We are also starting to run ads in various domestic and international markets to gain visibility and interest.  Some of these have better results than others.  While we are just on 6 great trade exchanges now and our prices are low, this is not a major concern to us.  We are here for the long term and a low price means new users will have cheap prices to acquire a lot of IPC to use for their potential business as well as smart investors who recognize a good long-term buy opportunity. We have had several emails this past week from traders who are buying low on one exchange in either BTC, LTC or DOGE and trading it on another exchange for profits of 1000% !!!  These opportunities are rare, but we have seen them and know they are real - Congratulations to IPC traders with the patience to wait for those low prices and scoop them up to sell them elsewhere. If you look at some of the major crypto currencies, their price is as cheap as ours and they are still going strong too.  In other words, our price is not indicative of our solvency or resolve to make our coin successful, it just means we have not yet established the demand that we are aiming for and have more work to do for you!

Everyone has now upgraded finally to our new version succesfully and all is running smoothly again with the new DGW3 feature working exactly as advertised.  Moving forward over the next few weeks, we anticipate listing on 1-2 more exchanges, a new product/service for our potential users, lots more banner advertising popping up, and an internal technical review on any potential upgrades for Imperial Coin moving forward.  The ImperialCoin team thanks you for your patience and support!

After a significant amount of time, money and energy, the long-awaited initial version of the Imperial Coin (IPC) Users Manual is available now for download on our main website (ImperialCoin.org).  With the release of this document and future revisions and other documents, the ImperialCoin Team has proven their long-term commitment to IPC.  While actively pursuing new businesses who may have an interest in IPC as a potential payment system, with the this guide, the IPC team has shown that they are also very focused on acquiring and educating new crypto currency users as well as business-owners. While Imperial Coin (IPC) is not the first crypto currency to provide any type of Users Guide to new and current users, it is one of a select few who have put forth the effort.  Please use the link below to download the PDF version of the IPC Users Guide.

Post by: odyssey on August 02, 2014, 05:28:05 PM
With the release of our banner farm and initial users manual this week we saw a huge surge in trading on several of the exchanges.  We traded almost 0.4 BTC in one 24 hour period on one exchange and nearly 0.9 BTC for all combined the day after our user manual release. Our weighted price (based on volume x price) continues to put us around 13-16.  We see stable highs of 20-25 on several exchanges and average lows around 10-12 on others - presenting good arbitrage opportunities if you are patient and have accounts on all 7-8 exchanges.    Some are a lot busier exchanges than others and your orders may sit their a while. The really good news is that they are all buys, not sells.

As for what is coming up with ImperialCoin, we have a huge project in the works now and hope to make an announcement on it within a few days.  Like our users manual and banner farm, this is something few of the other coins have the resources to produce and maintain.  Again - watch this thread for an announcement in the upcoming week.  Thanks for your support of Imperial Coin (IPC)

Post by: odyssey on September 20, 2014, 09:14:28 PM
We have completed checkout of our updates to IPC and will be releasing the source code and updated wallets over the next few days.  We have informed our exchanges and pools about our coming fork and several of them have chosen to freeze our wallets to avoid confusion or issues during the upgrade process.  Just to assure you, there is NOTHING wrong with the coin.  We have made a serious upgrade to IPC, are very proud of it, and will be releasing it once we have all the new wallets complete and we have the infrastructure to support the change.  By design, nothing should change for about a week while everyone switches over after our formal release.  Please watch for our update here and on Twitter in the next 48 hours.....Thanks for your support of Imperial Coin (IPC)

We are disappointed to report that we have to delay our planned hard fork that was planned for Block 60,000 by at least a week.  So if you had grabbed our source and done the Linux upgrade all went well for you.  But the Windows wallets had issues and most would never sync.  We have identified what the issues are and need to do some more work on the source code to solve this problem. We request that you all should revert to version 1.2 until we can get the problem fixed.  This is a stable version that we rolled out a few months back and has been running fine for everyone.  Right now, do not use any of the wallets on our website and please make sure you are using V1.2 and not the beta V1.3.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  But a fork of this nature is never easy and when all the Linux wallets synced properly we thought all was in good shape, until we tried the Windows wallets and had these issues.  We will get them fixed this week and get the new wallets out as soon as we can in time for a fork at around Block 64,000 - 65,000.  Thanks for your support of Imperial Coin (IPC).

Just a quick update on our fork status here.  We basically decided to start over on the fork and push it out a few weeks....what we had, seemed to work, but was not as stable as we would like it to be.  Pushing the fork out a week, will allow us to work on a few other minor bugs and do a little more thorough testing.  Meanwhile, we see a lot of hash power on IPC and good numbers on all the exchanges - hopefully, this will continue. Thanks for your support of IPC.

You are correct - we do not need all the alt coins out there right now.  Only the coins, who upgrade and stay current with coin technology will survive.  IPC is one like that.  Our upcoming fork, will make IPC a very competitive and technologically sound coin.  Thanks for your interest and comments.

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) - Announcing New Neoscrypt Fork
Post by: odyssey on October 16, 2014, 02:08:29 AM
We have finally completed our upgrade of Imperial Coin (IPC) from the Scrypt algorithm to the Neoscrypt algorithm. While this was not an easy choice as there are so many options out there now.  It has become clear to us that Neoscrypt will most likely be one of the next generation proof-of-work (PoW) algorithms designed to replace Scrypt. It consumes a lot less memory than Scrypt, but yet is more memory intensive and stronger cryptographically. The Neoscrypt algorithm combines the power of Salsa20/20, ChaCha20/20, BLAKE2s and FastKDF into a very secure ASIC-resistant solution. It is a VERY solid, well-designed and well thought out algorithm which we feel represents the next generation of coins that will now include Imperial Coin (IPC).

NeoScrypt has been running successfully on Phoenixcoin (PXC) since late July and will be on Feathercoin (FTC) starting in late October also. If you remember, the hashing technologies used by the Scrypt algorithm starts with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 key derivation, and ends with 8 rounds of the Salsa20 cipher as its mixing engine. However, it has since been shown that only having 8 rounds of Salsa20 can be broken through differential cryptoanalysis - not as secure as we all thought.

So the Neoscrypt creator designed NeoScrypt to be compatible with Scrypt, but to have functional differences which provide significant advantages over Scrypt. With Neoscrypt, he has written a custom key derivation algorithm which is much stronger and faster. NeoScrypt's mixing engine employs 20 rounds of Salsa20, followed by 20 rounds of ChaCha20. Not only is this combination faster and more secure than standard Scrypt, but it only takes 32KB to 64KB of memory, compared to the 128KB of memory used by Scrypt.

We are thoroughly convinced that NeoScrypt based currencies are set to become the best option for those who have a low to medium budget for mining equipment and therefore cannot afford ASIC rigs. With the adoption of NeoScrypt by Imperial Coin (IPC), we ensure that our loyal miners, small businesses in need of payments systems and newbies everywhere will always be able to viably mine IPC by never having to compete against miners who have bought the next generation of expensive Scrypt ASICs.  Without and algorithm like Neoscrypt, the smaller hobbyist miner will have no place left to mine anything on Scrypt-based coins, just like GPUs have no place on Bitcoin any more. Only those with deep pockets can mine Bitcoin and this will end up being just a few large companies or well-funded individuals. In our view, this does not make a good case for decentralization and not where Imperial Coin (IPC) needs to go.

We thank you for your patience while we upgraded our algorithm and went through some minor programming difficulties causing some delays.  It is running now on several machines and on our seed nodes and has a delayed switchover that will make the switchover to the Neoscrypt algorithm on Block 66,000 - in about 3-4 days.  At that point, everyone will need to be switched over to the new version and be mining with either a CPU or GPU as your ASICs will cease to work properly with Imperial Coin after Block 66,000. OK, we have updated the new source code into our GitHub account and updated all the links on our website and this thread.  In regards to the fork, please note that we have also included a built in miner, so that the wallet is now self-contained.  You can solo or pool mine with the new wallet.  Prior to Block 66000, the miner will mine Scrypt normally. From Block 66000 forward, when the Neoscrypt algorithm begins in use, you will be using a Neoscrypt type miner.  Please let us know if you have any questions.  We have put links in the this thread and on our website relating to Neoscrypt and Neoscrypt mining.

Impressive!

Thanks for your support.  By our calculations, the switchover to the new Neoscrypt algorithm will occur in about 3.6 days from now or late Tuesday (EST).  At this time, we have updated our seed nodes, the block explorer (http://blockexperts.com/ipc), the website and notified all the pools and exchanges. They will all get reminders from us in a few days if we have not heard from them.  We will be working to get Linux and Apple wallets for you this weekend.

In regards to mining IPC, we have seen some recent spikes in hash rate - most likely with ASICs trying to get the most out of them before the changeover.  After the switch, you will need to use the CPU miner mining software specially modified for Neoscrypt or a new beta version mining SW for GPUs. We will add these to our Neoscrypt links page as we get them.  FYI, one of the pools (https://ipc.theblocksfactory.com/) has a good write up on mining Neoscrypt coins.  Again, we thank you for your support of ImperialCoin.

The Neoscrypt fork today for Imperial Coin (IPC) was VERY successful as you can see.  After a slow first hour, everone got switched over to CPUs/GPUs and at this writing, we have mined over 70,000 coins today with ZERO ASICs.  That's right you can now mine IPC again with just a laptop and get some coins each day.  Check out the BlocksFactory pool - they are set up for Neoscrypt and a great way to get some coins each day.  Thanks so much for you support of Imperial Coin (IPC).  RIght now, I am just running a pair of laptops and have about 100 coins for the day, with no GPUs.  I will be switching over the GPUs to IPC and help figure out the right formula for those.  For now, cpuminer in the pool is working great - even if for such a small amount.....Thanks so much for your support of IPC during this transition.  Now let's try and get the hash rate up to a few MH/s.

One other interesting note - I was checking to see if all the exchanges have switched over.  It appears Comkort and Coin-Swap are still running the old algorithm as their last block found was when we switched.  In checking the volume, I see that someone bought about 2.5 million IPC yesterday on Coin-Swap !!!!   That is one of the bigger transactions that I have seen - thanks for your IPC support!!!

Yes, the market price across most of the exchanges is pretty stable at about 14-15 satoshi now.  For those of you, who have been buying IPC at 4-5 satoshi as recently as last week, you have made some good money this week on trading.  We have seen $560 in volume on Allcoin alone in the past 24 hours (Over 1.0 BTC), with good volume on Comkort and Coin-Swap also.  This has been a very good week for Imperial Coin (IPC) and we just received more good news that we will be publically announcing in a few days.  FYI, we do have our Users Guide in work for a major update to cover the Neoscrypt upgrade and some new things for IPC.  As always, we appreciate your support of Imperial Coin (IPC) !!!

Title: Imperial Coin (IPC) - Neoscrypt Coin - Trademark Approval
Post by: odyssey on October 24, 2014, 08:11:46 PM
The Imperial Coin (IPC) Team is pleased to announce that we have received approval of our final US Trademark Registration (# 4624326) for the name "Imperial Coin" and it's exclusive use in the world of crypto currencies and beyond.  What this means is that no other coin, group, site or individual can use the name "Imperial Coin" for any purposes without prior written approval from the Imperial Coin (IPC) Team.  All pools, exchanges and other sites that have Imperial Coin (IPC) have already been approved for the usage of the name.  Any coin other than IPC, is NOT approved at this time and is in violation of US Patent and Trademark laws and should be removed immediately.  At this time, the IPC Team has already started submitting DMCA Takedown Notices to offending organizations to remove any coins bearing that name other than IPC.

While at this time, we have a US Trademark (prohibiting usage by US users and sites), there exist reciprocal agreements with many other countries through the World Trade Organization that indicate our trademark should be honored outside the US as well. Please consult your local trademark attorney if you have questions about usage outside the USA.

So why did the IPC Team feel the need to Trademark their name?  Very simple - it is a very popular and recognizable name that we plan on using for a very long time and to avoid confusion with attempts to infringe on our name by other lessor copycat coins.  VERY few coins in our community have gone to the time and expense to file for and gain approval of a trademark for their name - probably only 2-3 at most.  The IPC Team feels that with the issuance of our trademark, no one will question the long term committment of the Imperial Coin (IPC) Team and it will be the start of many more great things for Imperial Coin (IPC).  We have included a few links to the USPTO.gov website with our registration status and issued certificate.  We thank you so much for your support of Imperial Coin (IPC) and look forward to a bright future with the IPC Community.

Yap, having neoscrypt in IPC is nice idea since it is popular those days. Smart move. There are too many scrypt coins and only few of them will survive. With optimization of neoscrypt kernel interest will rise and also the diff.

It is a big difference in the hash rate to get used to.  A 280X will only do about 100 HH/s running the Neoscrypt algorithm.  The good news is that the algorithm is much harder to break than X11-X17.

No, 280x can go up to 400Kh/s or maybe more.

How long will it take for people to realize that it is easier to mine this coin using little power. Only one GPU is enough. Adding more power will only increase diff and no one will be able to mine more. So last few days I m increasing diff by adding up to 9Mh/s on the pool whenever someone adds more GPUs. Come on ppl what is the difference to mine 50 000 IPC with one GPU or 150 000 with 10 of them.

I watch some of the mining at The Blocks Factory and I see miners mining with only 4-5KH/s - just an old laptop most likely and they are clearing about 100 IPC every couple of hours.  Not bad for a laptop that is normally doing nothing.  Put your laptop in the pool and try and see.

Agree, in last 2 years I have seen some interesting things where smart people earning lot of money with just CPU mining. Last time when I noticed that is on UFO coin where some smart man using just CPU for long time earned a lot when UFO entered bittrex. So it is not always about the huge power it is more about playing smart. The same thing will happen here :) When price rises it will be too late to join. I m always amused to see huge farms entering some coin earning so little, the same amounts they could do with few GPUs month earlier.

Yes, we have watched several of these guys playing with the hash rate.  FYI, IPC has DGW3 built in to it already.  It is entertaining to watch them, it seems it is more trouble than it is worth based on our current exchange prices, but regardless, we are pleased to see solid interest in the mining of IPC and a growing interest outside the crypto community as well.  Our Twitter following continues to grow as we are fast approaching 900 now.  Thanks for all your support.  We would like to take this opportunity to wish every one a Happy New Year!

The Block Factory Neoscrypt mining pools using 128Diff is achieving 150khs per 750TI GPU as an example.

Early access is avaliable for BTC pledges, very low pledge level. Crowdfunding campaign is nearly finished.

It is unfortunate, but we are just a select few - it takes many traders for a long period of time trading much BTC, to keep a market active on 7 exchanges like we did for almost a year.  Fewer exchanges may be a good thing - our traders can still buy IPC on several other exchanges.  Keep in mind, we have our ad site, banner exchange and we are a payment option on CoinToPay.com

Coins-e seems pretty dead too. Only a recent uptick in interest, perhaps related to the Allcoin IPC delisting.

Anyone aware of a more active exchange, seems the rest the exchanges listed in on the front page have either no IPC trading or the exchange itself is dead. Perhaps keeping the topic updated with current factual information would lend a bit more credibility to efforts to help keep this coin alive?

We can assure you that IPC is still very much alive.  Our eventual listing on Cryptopia will help with another strong exchange.   Keep in mind that we, by ourselves cannot buy up all the coins on all the exchanges and post 5 times per day here to keep things active as every one would like.  All of these exchanges, will only keep you active if you pay to get on them and make it worth their trouble (financially) to keep your coin there.  When they are not making any money on your coin, they kill it.  I would suspect that there are less than a dozen altcoins that have survived on more than 5 exchanges simultaneously for a year. IPC actually came close.  Interest died in the exchanges as others came along, not in IPC.

The long term support for most coins just is not there or their developers loose interest, make their money and leave.  IPC is now over a year old, we continue to be listed on some exchanges and continue to look for other exchanges to be added too.  We still have an active group of miners, good number of nodes, current in technology, a growing Twitter following (approaching 1000 now).  We have supplied a classified ad site and banner exchange for our users, and with CointoPay.com, we now have a solid payment system for users to accept IPC on their websites.  As developers, we spend money each month on website, nodes, faucets, and Cointopay.com to stay on their list.  IPC is here for the long term.  While it is great for our short term traders to make money with IPC, our primary interest now at this phase of our business is keeping IPC active and making it available for small businesses to use.  We plan on being around for a long time.  Keep in mind, we are one of a very very few number of coins with a trademark to protect our interests for the long term.  We greatly appreciate your support of IPC!!!

As far as I know, all wallets are listed in the Rich list - not sure how one would not be listed.  Check your wallet and make sure it is V1.3.06.

The wallets is successful, the transaction appears here, but when you click on the address does not appear coins.

http://blockexperts.com/ipc/height/126001

Well, there is no problem with the coin itself, most likely it is an issue with the block explorer.  We have seen some issues with other Neoscrypt coins and block explorers.

Market Cap 74$

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/imperialcoin/#markets

at the end of this coin I am dying, I think I'm the only one buying it right now.

 Any solution to this medium term?   :(

I've added a NOMP pool for IPC that can also be used next to the P2Pool, both will move to a permanent server soon.

NOMP -> http://87.209.206.80:1337

P2Pool -> http://87.209.206.80:12900

Both pools do not require registration, just use your wallet receive address as username and anything as a password.

Again, thanks so much for doing this!

You're welcome :)

I have just finished setting up the server as a more permanent solution, the NOMP pool is up and running so please go ahead and give it a try at http://coincave.eu
Fee is set at a very modest 1.5% which will be used as a contribution towards server/hosting costs.
The other server at http://87.209.206.80:1337 will still be available for now but will be shutting down at some point.

wallet isn't working for me.  Running windows 8.1 and all i get for the past few hours everytime i try to restart the wallet the top of the window says Imperial Coin -Wallet (Not Responding) Also, whenever I click on the window itself, a small window saying this program has stopped responding and needs to close.  I have reset my pc 2 times now, and still nothing.  It was working just a few hours ago and now nothing.  Nothing has changed in the pc since those two hours.  When I open task manager it shows "impcoin-qt           not responding.  What is the issue?

Thanks.

It's not the wallet, mine is running fine. (ver 1.3.0.6)

Check your computer.  What else have you installed or updated that might be interfering?

Each wallet can have numerous addresses linked to it, the total balance will show but transactions can still be linked to several addresses, I guess that might be the reason :)

If you need to know details you should contact the creator, as far as I know the explorer takes the information directly from the blockchain and is unable to invent transactions. I have checked my wallet address and position and it is 100% accurate. The other blockexplorer from the official website has exactly the same data https://blockexperts.com/ipc/tx/572acd0a1ce9d01fd4ae638bc07dd48b8e242902c0733e0d578934c1bf353bfd

Forgive but I say that my portfolio has not left that m.onedas million, the transaction is not real and also my balance is not what it says blockchain is 1 million more.

The transaction June 11 is erroneous and that's a big problem, I never sent that amount, the only costs to come out of my portfolio is the June 10 and were 150000 IPC.

Someone explain what is happening

i used to use that to mine feathercoin classic, but since that's scrypt based I can mine it with my asics...However IPC is not scrypt it is neoscrypt, so i cant use my scrypt asics to mine it, unfortunately.
