Dear MtGox Customers,"

"
Thank you for your patience this week while we are working on re-initiating bitcoin
withdrawals. In addition to the technical issue, this week we have experienced some
security problems, and as a result we had to relocate MtGox to our previous office building
in Shibuya (details can be found here https://support.mtgox.com/home). The move,
combined with some other security and technical challenges, pushed back our progress."
"
As much as we didn’t want to only provide an “update on an update”, this is the current
status. We are committed to solving this issue and will provide more information as soon
as possible to keep everyone in the loop."
"
We are very sorry for the delays and deeply appreciate your kind understanding and
continuous support."

The only "security problems" they should have are being arrested and a receiver appointed to refund customers properly.

The end.

How long is this crap going on.

Gox are creating so much damage to BTC and unnecessary grief to their customers.

Well you can't blame Gox.

The sight of two gentlemen peacefully protesting with laptops and a webcam would create such a disturbance and riots in the streets that Gox would have to pack up everything and move to a new location.

Karpeles needs to get his fat ass kicked.

at least some people have the balls to go and protest

I for one dont understand the protesters. To be honest there is nothing they can gain from going there, only incur extra losses for paying for travel (say london to Japan costs a bit)

It's not like the company is public and they have shares in it, it's private. Instead of wasting their time up there they should review their legal options.

No details of anything and no info on when to expect the next update. So they're going to use the protests as an excuse to not finish the fix for bitcoin withdrawals?
Here's an angle I didn't see coming. I feel sorry for the real people with hard earned cash tied up in this clusterfuck.

They will use a flake of snow melting on Mt Fuji as a bloody excuse. Unacceptable.

This is becoming a satirical reality. So funny! Delays because of angry protestors! Next up on AlJazeera: Ukrainian conditions at MtGox hq! Two-headed squirrel sighted!

Getting more popcorn!

My guess is that the move has nothing to do with security and that they had to move because they can no longer pay the rent.

Somebody should organize a boycott mtgox campaign. Remove mtgox from indexes, price charts, btc news sites, wallets, etc. Ignore any news that comes out from mtgox. The longer we continue giving press to mtgox, the more the people who will fall victim from depositing to that exchange to buy goxcoins.

It's already in play, but it hasn't gone far enough. There should be a reverse countdown clock everywhere saying something like "No MtGox executives or employees have been arrested since" (2009/10/29 as base date http://www.tokyo-cci.or.jp/english/ibo/2353440.htm)

Most people are boycotting it and have been for a while. I think pretty much the only people who use it are done so by force because they've got money stuck there.

My guess is that the move has nothing to do with security and that they had to move because they can no longer pay the rent.
I would find it more likely that the management and other tenants in the multi-tenant office got upset with the demonstration and attention.

While it is possible that MtGox is insolvent when it comes to paying out everyone deposits of fiat and BTC, the income from the transaction fee on trades is significant so I would have thought they would use that for rent.

i cant agree with that. Gox took up four of eight floors. and as pointed out, the demonstrations werent demonstrations at all.

they are taking in a million USD a month, thats now, with their reduced market share. there rent is miniscule. i linked their rents in the main bitching thread. rent doesnt touch their monthly income. they cant just move in a day either, they must have had both offices the whole time.

but why am i even responding to you trolls?

Probably all or most of their savings are there, and they got desperate. Not rational but easy to understand. I would have paid a lawyer intead of spending with trips.
