What benefits do I get for paying the $25 individual fee? Should this be considered a donation?
What benefits platinum members get makes me wonder..for $100,000? Inside knowledge so that I can play/manipulate the market?

Do not touch or donate to the bitcoin foundation until MtGox BTC withdraws are resolved.  They represent the community, the community needs help.

I wouldn't bother donating unless you feel like they're helping the Bitcoin community a lot.

They haven't done anything for the commnity and they don't care about the community as they have proven recently with our petition to remove mark yet they simply ignored it.

Exactly my point but they will still get funding because some people don't care about the way they are handling things I was told Bitcoin foundation is a spokesman to the Bitcoin community obviously not.

It's just a fancy place where Bitcoin companies can advertise for being members of the Bitcoin foundation even though they claim to help the Bitcoin community which in the early days I think they did they have lsot interest and just want money now.

If this is true, you shouldn't be able to buy your way in. You should be invited based on merit.

Lol you must be an idiot to give 100.000$ to them! Funny the choice of words, "rights" "board meetings" "voting rights" "organization", wow seems important, when in real it is just a group of people. It is like if i create the gabi foundation and i ask you to give me 100.000$ so you can vote for... dunno... mmhh... well, the logo of the gabi foundation!!!! And of course i act like the gabi foundation is the most important thing in the bitcoin world, that we organize things, we do things etcetc

This is the way they should have worded it on their website so I am undeer the impression that the Bitcoin community doesn't support the foundation any more? Finally some good news.

So this is just like a corrupt organisation where nobody voted for them?

I guess there's nothing stopping anyone to create their own foundation, but people will assume or take their word on things so I'm sceptical of why they're even needed.

bitcoinstore paid 100k for their 'advertising' on their page so the foundation has made 1 million dollars I would say to this date and they have just put that in their back pocket and walked off with it.

I think that is one of the reasons people hate the foundation now is because of the recent drama with mt gox.

There's that, but what do they actually even do? It also kinda goes against the decentralised nature on Bitcoin.

They don't do any thing I'm not supporting them in any way and any one who is supports them I don't trust in any sort of way now I have found out the bitcoinstore supports them I don't think I'll be using them any more.

They would listen, just like they listened to the "remove Karpeles" petition :D

They probably wouldn't but the beauty of bitcoin is that we could fork the chain, modify the code and start a new foundation leaving the old one in the dark. We would need help from the major pools but it would be simple to de-throne the foundation.

The foundation should be a decenteralised and should not have a owner and everyone should be elected to be part of the Bitcoin foundation by the Bitcoin community.

Fee should be minimal. What they should focus on is quality. Those business that have a certain quality should be in bitcoin foundation, other then that no. That is the only way to regain trust.

Even if mt gox is involved what do the foundation actually do for the community? They don't do much I can tell you that.

Can what be confirmed that mt gox is involved? Mark is the owner of mt gox and is a founder of the Bitcoin foundation I doubt mt gox even donated to get on their website and was just put on there.

I can't possibly join a Foundation that still has Mark Karpeles as one of it's board members.  As long as someone like that remains in power, it would seem hypocritical for anyone to join or be elected while you have that major stink in the room.

Seems the only reason they are getting so much hate now is because of mark but I still think they are corrupt for the way they are handling donations and haven't even paid attention to the petition against him.

Yeah i was going to "help" them. U just can't expect any profit , if u like bitcoin, and like the idea of it. U should help it grow and advertise. I think idea of it , even one Thomas Edison had, is just remarkable . And should never die. So sure , i will join Bitcoin Foundation.

Yes but I assume he will still be an issue till he goes to court.. Imagine in court he makes accusations about the foundation being involved in his legal issues or other ones that the foundation may have perpetrated.

He will continue to tarnish the rep of the foundation until a verdict is handed down and the case is over.
