I've done 2 BTC withdrawals from Bitstamp this morning. Didn't notice anything unusual.

I got fiat withdrawal problems with Bitstamp. Never happened before and I'm starting to get worried.

Yes I had prior problems with fiat withdrawals, and had to complete KYC question list. But now it is different. They are not asking anything, just disabled bitcoin withdrawal for me.

That's weird. Not answering support tickets either?

Did you get your fiat payment in the end when they asked for KYC?

Theory : Maybe they are getting investigated...

Yes, I got it processed in a couple of days. However still not arrived at my account. On questionnaire completion I got "thank you for your cooperation. We have instructed our administration to further process your withdrawal request. Please be advised that we may further contact you if additional KYC checking be necessary."

But now they are silent, and that makes me worry.

I wish you said you'd received payment.

Something is up.

Bitcoin deposits.  Ripple withdrawals is also disabled.   Fiat withdrawal pages seem to be working as normal (although i'm not sure if you actually tried to do a withdrawal what would happen)

Where do you guys see these errors? I just withdrew some bitcoins and everything went through as per usual. It's now on "waiting to processed", also as per usual. Do you guys get the message before or after?

Edit// I just received my BTC withdrawal. Nice FUD, OP.

It seems you´re a lucky one as 10 others didn´t receive theirs. I can remember another exchange where only a few withdrawls did get through.
We all know what happened after that....

It shows up under Withdrawal -> Bitcoin; where you would normally input the bitcoin address, instead it has a big message saying "You are not allowed to withdraw bitcoins at the moment."

I also have 2 factor, and it looks like I can withdraw just fine.

I didn't actually try to make a withdrawal, but I don't see the error message on the withdrawal page that others have mentioned (just the usual withdrawal form)

edit: it includes 100 BTC also...

Strange...

I use 2FA and email-confirmation. I've made 2 successful BTC withdrawals today while others were reporting problems.

edit: Just did another small one to test and it still works 100% okay for me.

The first time I tried to, it advised me on red letters that I should activate 2fa, and after that, i was able to do it.
However some users over here with 2fa, are saying that they aren't allowed to withdraw anything  ???

In my case:
It's working fine, and I have 2fa ON.

There is no need to perform test withdrawals. Its about having an option to withdraw bitcoins. Some users, including me, have this option (bitcoin withdrawal) disabled for some reasons. I sold all the coins that I tried to withdraw (50+) and now trying to withdraw as USD.

I see; there are a number of people interested in BTC withdrawal, so this may help them. Hopefully someone posts something to address your (and others) USD issue as well.

Thanks,

Happy customer here.  ;D

Supposedly Bitstamp received warnings of phishing attempts, so this could be a pre emptive security measure.

Either no one checks their email, or you initially registered with your bogus email (which I know many of us do) and you're not getting their messages. Whichever it may be, here's the email that was sent out to all accounts that ran into this security measure:

Quote
Bitstamp has detected an increase in the number of reports of phishing emails which were also received by some of our clients. Our technical team responded by examining the threat and setting immediate security measures in place to prevent potential risks.

As a precaution we have also applied this security measure to your account.

If you have received any emails with suspicious content and have opened links or attachments we highly recommend that you immediately contact a computer expert.

While we appreciate that this comes as an inconvenience we are convinced that our security precautions are in accordance with your expectations in keeping your account secure.

If you consider that your system was not affected we kindly ask you to contact security@bitstamp.net to re-enable the withdrawal function on your account.

Please be advised that Bitstamp will never ask you to reveal your password.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
Bitstamp Team

But, nevertheless, looking back at how it has been done I dont beleive it is about our security at all.

Think about a massive security breach through a phishing attempt from the Bitstamp POV. If it's a good phishing scheme, hundreds of users would probably fall for it (maybe even thousands? who knows), especially during these fragile times. So, instead of dealing with lost BTC and the PR nightmare, why not restrict all movement and one by one reinstate accounts after each user has had a moment to take a look at their computers and change their passwords.

Seems like a much safer alternative that makes things a lot easier for both sides.
