Hosting? Thanks! I also live in Canada but unfortunately I haven't found any information on the legal requirements for registering as a currency exchanger. If you find any resources please post back, otherwise I would say the best place to call is Business Development Canada. They deal with mainstream e-currencies though but so far they've been running for years without the government shutting them down. Also take note that the payment processor AlertPay is Canadian based and I read somewhere that they never had to register with any government agencies or had the same stringent regulatory environment as in the States - ie PayPal.

Moving money over interac email xfer is a) unreversable b) anonymous in the sense you dont even have to declare what you are sending money for (until they raise their bushy bankers' eyebrows and start asking questions).

So far as I know their code is open source, but either way you could talk to them. Its a working exchange which I have used, and seems to be clear of a lot of the hassle others report with othe exchanges, although that is possibly down to the people running it or what the the law here in the uk allows. |
