I want to instal it but I can't any free versions and a lot of them require you to purchase the software which is like $60.

Given the nature of question I assume you run winblows. For that, use this: http://www.gpg4win.org

It is free.

I'm going to familarise my self with the software and see why escrows use them and why they use them and also why it would be a good idea for myself to use it.

It never hurts to have good AV software a firewall and malware protection.
Also check out TrueCrypt to encrypt sensitive data.

Yeah, http://gpg4win.org/index.html is the easiest software to use. But I prefer GUI-less linux.

How well does http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmessage work to encrypt data? I don't think it uses PGP but I might be mistaken? Bit Message is pretty easy to use from what I have done with it.

If you scroll down to "Operation" you can see how it works and what kind of encryption it uses.

As far as I know, bitmessage can currently only be used to sent and receive messages, not to encrypt files.

But all these chans are fuckin shit. There is only one chan to be in. #bitcoin-assest

Anyway, Bitmessage is flawed, do not use it cause its as good a plaintext email if not worse.

That's a harsh statement to make.
Could you elaborate on it? Or do you have a source to support your claim?

Then I won't search up bitmessage  :D :D :D

I'm the older generation and have recently been suggested Bitcoin by my nephew and I tell you something it's bloody hard work to understand some of the concepts of sofware and security.

Maybe it's not "as" bad now. But I still wouldn't use it, Quote from the page.
