Title: I just generated half a bitcoin.....im not mining

So my  client says that in 118 confirmations, I will get .5 btc, but I havent been mining for weeks. Explanation?

You were probably mining with Eligius, and stopped a week ago.  They just paid out your remaining balance.

If that's not it let us know the address it went to and we'll see what happened.  You can PM me if you don't want to post it publicly.

Not mining for months, and never on Eligius. There is no address, at least not yet for 118 blocks and I dont know which one it came in on, there are many.

Yeah, the GUI sucks for this.  You can start a bitcoind and get it through the CLI:  "./bitcoin listtransactions".

Or just let me know the exact value of BTC you received and I can look it up.

I just had this happen to me.  it is for 7 bitcents.   it is pretty scary to have a transaction in my client and not know where it came from

Lol, for Halloween I'm going to send random people bitcoins. You know, just to scare them.
