Title: Mining rig - no boot after adding 3rd card
Post by: Cheiktwo on February 20, 2014, 07:12:26 PM
Hi guys,

First of, if this is posted in the wrong subforum, please move it... It was not really clear to me where to create it.

I'm having issues with my mining rig (altcoin), when I added my 3rd videocard today.
Gpu's: 3x7950 Sapphire
Mobo: asrock 970 extreme 4
Psu: seasonic 1000watt
Windows 7

Machine was mining fine untill i connected the 3rd card
The 3 GPU's are connected with x1 x16 powered cables.
When i try to boot, fans spin up slightly but stop immediately.

I disconnected the third card and I can boot fine, but i have a windows error saying system needs a restore.
This is probably related to the fact i swapped the 2 other risers also?

Any help getting the 3 card setup running, would be much appreciated...

Grtz

Sounds like the card or riser has a issue. Try booting with just the 3rd card your adding. If it works add one more card at a time. Could be a faulty card, riser, or just hardware conflict.

could be pushing the upper limits of your psu?  I'm going to be running a 1500 watt psu for 4 7950s and hardware just to be able to run them at like 68% with mobo going too.
