A poll conducted by Gallup and Wells Fargo revealed that nearly three-quarters of the US investors think that bitcoin is a "very risky" investment.

The week-long study which surveyed nearly 2,000 adults in the country who have invested either in retirement savings account or through any other account unveiled that only two percent currently own bitcoin, while more than 70 percent "have no interest in ever buying bitcoin."

It's correct. Investing in Crypto is a risk. However, the profits it brings are so great that you can forget about all the risks. I believe in the future of this market and I am still involved  ;D ;D

I won't bother to doubt the report because even on the forum, the general feeling is that cryto currency investment is risky based on the advise to newbies to only invest what they intend not to use long term or an about they are prepared to lose but the 'very risky' part is where I would likely express displeasure because despite the risky nature of crypto, it has always compensated in for it in terms of returns within the specified period of time one is looking to invest that no other investment could turn out.  However, reading the article, it shows that mainly the old and women have not heard about bitcoin which I would conclude that old also would be responsible for larger part of the people that claim its 'very risky' as its going to be difficult for crypto to appeal to the seniors as its very against whatever they have come to believe about investment all their lives.

Of course it's a risk, but think about it, you get a pretty big profit in a short time, and on the other hand the risk. But if you come up with the mind and of course luck, you can make good money on it.

Without taking higher risk how can someone earn higher profits.  If someone wants earn high he will have to take risk.  Otherwise banks insurance investments are safe options they may try there.

Of course, they are trading in low risk shares on the news make a lot of money. Here the scum spoils everything - even bounty to take. 90% of the bounty scum, that's why it's very difficult to earn in the crypt, but if 1 time hit and fired, then you can earn 200x. So it's better to invest in stocks, and in the crypt only from mining. It's almost impossible to earn a simple person here, unnecessarily because of fake and false information there is no one who is not responsible.

Everyone knows well that bitcoin is a risky investment and there is no need to conduct a survey for knowing this.But an interesting factor is that despite the risk factor in bitcoin,the number of investors buying bitcoin is still increasing as they have already witnessed many hundreds of people turning to be millionaires with the help of bitcoin.

And those 75% of American’s will still be poor when bitcoin hits $50,000 per coin in the next 2 years.

Not only American but also investors from all over the world think that risk is too much, but the income for which we are risking covers everything.

Apparently, everyone doesn't know. Only 75% said it was risky.

I feel sorry for the other 25%. Because of their ignorance, they are going to end up with nothing, regardless of what happens to Bitcoin.

First of all it's those investments that people are considering risky that end up paying the most. If most people thought that BTC means easy profit without risk they'd all go in, flood the market with money and stabilize it. That's how mature market are acting. Check out oil prices, natural gas, things like that. If you see a move of 10% a year it's a decent run. BTC can move by 300% in a month and it's considered nothing special.

A lot of people shy away from Bitcoin because of it's volatility, but you need to be able to stomach the crazy price swings in order to make the high returns. Unfortunately, a lot of investors like to play things safe, and that's why Bitcoin is still relatively niche. That and the fact that it's a totally new asset class/technology. New tech scares people.

Once an ETF is approved, that will allow for non-crypto savvy people to easily invest in Bitcoin (assuming the minimum buy in isn't astronomical, which it probably will be). I'm waiting for the day when I can diversify a % of my 401k into Bitcoin...

Yes. Bitcoin investment is risky so is every other investment, bitcoin investment is capable of yielding a massive return on invesment compared to other investments.
Its left for investors to take calculate risk .
Know when to invest and when to pull out.

You need to invest the capital that you can lose, this is the risk.

And if there is a choice between the retirement savings account and the purchase of Bitcoin, of course everyone will choose a pension account, because in case of Bitcoin's collapse they do not want to literally starve.

Investing in Crypto is a risk, but against the risk they have very high returns if the investment is reasonable. Bitcoin will be of the future.

Yes it is very risky but it will not stop me to invest in bitcoin.I dont care with US or other investors,  I take big risk in cryptocurrency with reason. There is no other good online transaction methode except bitcoin so I reallh sure that peoole wull prefer like to use bitcoin as online transaction.

It's right to consider Bitcoin risky, I haven't heard of a person that says that Bitcoin is safe, but it's dumb to dismiss Bitcoin because of the risk.

I think this is just a flaw in human's perception of risks, there's a video on Youtube where a guy asks people on the street if they would flip a coin and bet like $10, except the guy offers them disproportionate payouts like $20 or $30, but people still refuse because they are scared of risks.

This situation is just the same - Bitcoin has a huge potential for growth, so even with small amounts you can get big returns, but people don't think about it because they are too scared to lose.

And yes those people will surely regret that they have ignored bitcoin. Maybe they are still not familiar with it or its just they are ignoring it.
Investing in bitcoin without proper knowledge on how it works is just like playing chess and you dont know the moves of every piece

I guess that 75% of the US investors are too lazy and afraid of taking risks.They want big and consistent profits with little to zero risk,which is impossible.Anyway,they are still looking at bitcoin onlyfrom the financial investor's point of view.Why don't they look at bitcoin from the business and technology point of view.
We need more business owners to accept btc payments,not speculative investors,who just buy and wait.

Every investment has some risk in it. The coin platform is highly volatile which makes it risky. But, high risk has more profitable returns, the key is how calculative you are. People who are brave to invest a big amount on Bitcoin are rewarded for the risk they have taken by making huge profit.

I'm sure that not only investors from the United States consider bitcoin too risky. Even those people who constantly invest in it, consider it risky. But it depends more on the person himself. For each person the risk is different :)

You are right but they are talking about bitcoin being risky in a different scale. They think that it is "very risky" wherein they thought that risk is higher than the chance of them getting returns from their investments when in fact it also has the same risk with putting your money in the bank or investing it into stocks, commodities, real estates and businesses that they can think of.

not if you are an early investor. lets say you have invested on a token few years back and so those tokens by now is worth more than the ICO price. so invest today and few years later price is going to be up anyway so long as you invested on a legit project.  

scams are what makes this market risky and those who dumped their tokens which is normal for those who wants easy profit. but for all markets adn this one, its all risky even the stock market.

the example you gave proves that you are taking a LOT more risk when you are an early adopter.
as we all know nearly all ICOs have failed already which means when you invest in them in early stages and take a huge risk you ended up losing a lot of money which makes it highly risky.

Moneycontrol is not a USA site, secondly I don't know who these 2000 adults are but nearly all I speak friends and friends friend they're all up for bitcoins they're loving it and they're making more money with bitcoins than any other asset so I don't think this is a true survey, I have so many sellers from USA wanting payment in Bitcoins so the finding of this survey is wrong.

yeah, that's a real fact, I'm very sure that 75% of investors are very confident that bitcoin is an investment that is very risky.
but that will not change their belief in bitcoin.

The crypto market is associated with risks. In fact every single act is leap of faith and has risks tied up with them. No risk no gain. So, we need to undertake the risks, in order to get something big back in return if our tactics are played right.

It is true. Bitcoin is very risky, and we can not deny that. But, also promising for our future, if we know how to manage it well. So , i think it will be depending on each person to managing their knowledge about bitcoin.

Yes buying bitcoin and saving it is very risky, because any time it will fall its price. So we must be careful. But to hold long it is profitable. That survey maybe was done to people who did not know Bitcoin really because you ask someone who has bitcoin or that some time there bought or been in exchanges of coins I think it would be around the percentages of risk 25% and 75% of gain of the investment and the majority of those who are in crypto are young and are not found by there in the streets would have to be in a university or some forums that survey or in countries like Japan the echo that makes a brevest in states together with 2000 people to something that is global that covers hundreds of countries that are millions, it seems to me that this survey is not valid

They just showed their positions regarding to this system but they are not the majority so that's still not going to be the basis whether same people around will have the same concern about bitcoin, yes risk as it is since you are investing to something that there's still no clear path along the way, but allowing yourself to learn and understand is another thing, if most Americans are saying that it's risky then it's much better to take that and enjoy after the rise of this new innovation inside investment currency.

Frankly speaking, I do not think that this poll is correct. A lot of things need to be considered while considering these polls like sample size.

In case, this is true (75 % Americans believing bitcoin is 'very risky'), I think the percentage will be above 95% for all over the world. Also, in my opinion the majority is not of people who like it or consider it risky, majority is of people who are neutral about it (they have no idea about what it is actually) .

It is not entirely surprising that this number is this high. Part of the reason is that most of the information on BTC and cryptos has been negative and the public doesn't understand yet. It also doesn't help that exchanges are hacked continuously. Better adoption and better security will be two things that will make the public more comfortable and will eventually see that number go down.

I agree with their opinion. Everyone here knows that Bitcoin is still a lot of risks. But now there are many who believe that Bitcoin will succeed. Sometimes we have to invest in risky things to do can make a lot of money

Some investors think so about Bitcoin because they have been influenced by the government. Many believe that the government is always right and that what the government says is true. But they will realize that they were wrong when there are such thoughts

Many of them believe it to be risky because of the volatility in the market. Compared to other asset classes it is risky but we should also factor in that, Bitcoin is relatively new and it will take time for the market to stabilize.

This is not new when everyone is saying bitcoin as high risk investment but they forget that playing gambling is also risky but even then the are playing. Bitcoin was not accepted from starting but even then you can check how much high they are investing. How much risk you take that much high profit.

No matter what is the results if the survey that it  is 75% very risk, we do not mind this results ,we must think positive , survey results does not change our lives if we believe on risky , continue to invest no matter what survey is it all about ,the good  things is  we can gain good profits ,than that of the survey ,which does not help us solve our each problems,let continue the work.on bitcoin.

There is nothing to worry with this. In investing, the word risk is always there, and it is the same in bitcoin. Risk is a part of winning. How can you eatn profit if you do not want to risk an specific amount? As simple as that, risk is everywhere and if you take risk, this is when you will feel you have accomplished something. The risk you will do is worth it in the end, so there is no worry at all.

There is nothing wrong in thinking that bitcoin investment is risky. To be honest, it is very risky because of the highly volatile nature of the coin itself. But, the high risk does come with the chance of high profitability. So, people who are brave enough to invest a big amount on Bitcoin can be rewarded for the risk they have taken by making huge profit or the vice versa.

Yes it is very risky but in return it is also so big. Every business that a person will invest in is a very big risky investment, you will just need to be patient and trust that it is not gonna fail. If there is no risk there is no reward.

It is no doubt that Bitcoin is very risky. It's market is super volatile and it changes almost every minute. But we all know that the higher the risk is the higher the return you can get from it. There people who became a millionaire in just a day because of Bitcoin and there also who lost all their riches because of it. Alway invest what you can afford to lose.

Such a negative attitude of Americans towards bitcoin is the result of propaganda of state structures that urge citizens not to invest in bitcoin because it is too risky investment of funds. In other countries there is no such negative attitude towards bitcoin. If bitcoin in the future will show its success, then the attitude towards it will change with time.

bitcoin and cryptocurrency investments are indeed very risky because there is no guarantee for your assets. logically most people are afraid of investing, but when there are people who have been cornered economically it might be an option that bitcoin is a shortcut to trade. currently, bitcoin is more ideal for short time trading (scalping).

I would say its true and don't want to gain money should stay away from bitcoin. Bitcoin grows even without them so why bother, after all, they would see this technology revolutionary just like any other of us here in the forum. This poll tells us the big risk when investing bitcoin. And those who make profit from it are not easy. Its attractiveness to many investors makes them willing to take high risk is huge profits. Although this market is risky,but it has potential.

BTC was, is and will be defined as so-called "very Risky" investment, I assume. BTC is very new whether SEC's stock investments are very known to everyone but everyone does not invest in there. Moreover, BTC market is very volatile. If you want to come involved in this market, you consider the facts and also remember it has a wide amount of potential and if you stay firmly with your wisdom and patience, you will be succeeded whether it is today or tomorrow.

That's the problem with people as they think that wherever there is a risk they shouldn't put their money in as from the childhood they are taught that they should not take risks and play it safe that's why they don't take risk with their money also. 9 years of Bitcoins trading have also showed that Bitcoin trading are risky, so it can’t be a big surprise for anyone to see that 75% of the US investors believe Bitcoin is very risky.
The only thing I’m surprise over is that its only 75% that find Bitcoin trading very risky.
However I still think Bitcoin price will find new all time highs in the years to come.

Although the poll shows that most investors think bitcoin is risky, you'll find that most of those investors hold a portion of bitcoin. Something that is risky always has a high return. Crypto has gained its popularity in the last 2 years and many are still trying to understand it. It surely will have a better outcome in the future.

Bitcoin market is definitely risky for people who are investing the amount of money which will hamper their future. BTC is highly volatile and fluctuates a lot within moments. However, many risk takers have also gained a huge amount of profit by taking risks. So, it is advisable for people to take calculated risk and invest the amount which will not make them bankrupt.
