Title: Scammer...
Post by: ScoobieDoo on October 12, 2011, 09:51:35 PM
Is there a reason I am marked scammer?

I just registered for this site and I sent a PM to someone and I noticed my avatar said scammer.

Can a mod please explain why?

Not a bad idea....maybe everyone should start of scammer until proven otherwise.

But it would make for a great market opportunity to sell non-scammer accounts.

Hey there,

This is really a shot in the dark but, I'd love that gaming rig. I could sign a contract and have my mother co-sign it.

I recently just got out of jail after overdosing on Heroin, and I am currently biding my time over on an old Dell Dimension 3000 that I had left over, so I'm really limited to half-life and mods and a few RTS games and whatnot. I have a good support group of friends on my ventrilo server, but they all have really nice rigs and play newer games.

I would love to destroy some people on black ops and keep busy.

Enough of the sob story, I would honestly be willing to like...sign a contract handwritten, on webcam video with you, that I would make payments of so much(however much we decide on) per month. I'm on probation so the drug problem is going away(although I know it will be a lifelong struggle), and I'd really just love to relax and play some vids when I'm not working(currently looking for a job atm).

Anyways, if you don't find anyone to sell it to, and you really don't have room to move it, etc...

I'm sure my mom could afford shipping up front, and then I'd make monthly payments on it to you.

Sorry, this is kinda embarassing.

Thanks for reading though!

Perhaps this would help clear up this issue?

Ha, the Bitcoin community, a place to embrace the heroin addicts and miscreants of the world. What a place to base an economy out of.

Didn't catch the unsolicited part, my bad. Is he a complete stranger?

most likely not.

scammers usually return frequently under alias and proxy

A) He's an idiot and probably a scammer for going into a lengthy dumbass story like that

B) You're an asshole for posting it from a PM

C) Wtf.

1: Yeah

2: Unsolicited scam PM from a newbie on the forum. He deserved it. If someone tries to scam me through PM's, I'll post every one of their PM's to help other people recognize them under other aliases.

3: Yes, WTF

Unsolicited PM's are a big no-no?

I had one the other day:

You should invest in my mining operation on the GLBSE or buy some silver.  ;D

Trust me these fuckheads will get their due, when they rip off the serious boys they will get what they deserve.

There are databases of known scammers, though I don't have access. The real underground consider them scum.

I have verified that this is a known scammer, hence the tag.
