Title: Will Bitcointalk be under attack soon? Post by: pekv2 on October 12, 2011, 10:45:53 PM Will Bitcointalk be under attack soon? As the pools are getting hit hard. If I was the attacker, I'd attack the top 3 bitcoin forums as well.

Post by: deslok on October 13, 2011, 12:24:37 AM The chinese would likely either use a far more or far less sophisticated attack, either by creating a botnet and slowly subverting the majority of the network (easy to manage when miners are droping off just program each new bot to be triggered by a diffrent expected difficulty) maintaining overall difficulty. Or simply swamping the network with all power at their disposal at once (the 10% difficulty drop would be negligible to the chinese long term and not worth the effort of ddosing pools hours before hand)
