But if you live in USA and your purchasing a USA game you just need the cdkey you don't need to give them your credentials. However if you live in USA and you want to purchase a Russian steam game you have to buy a Russian VPN and activate the game through that then there is no need to give him your credentials.
They only do that because steam requires you to activate games within the country they are purchased at.
