I don't know its good or not cause this cars are more smart, but cars on gasoline are more faster, so what do you think about this? :-\

Electric cars are much better. Don't make much sound and charging them is not as expensive as tanking up the car with fuel.

Who wants to be 50 miles from home at 2am and your electric only car has 15 miles range left in the battery.

I realise something needs to be done to address carbon pollution and so hybrid electric & petrol / diesel I would buy.

But electric only I think is not yet well developed enough to be reliable and dependable range wise.

Plus investment in infrastructure is nowhere near enough currently.

Friend, electric cars are the best thing there can be.

1. Maintenance is not as necessary as combustion engines

2. Energy is cheaper (Depending on the country in which you live)

3. They have higher performance, currently there is a dragster that has the record of 7.25s, which is impressive to be an electric and also, after each race a drag vehicle has to disarm the entire engine to do full maintenance, but no electric, just charge it and it's ready for the race

Of course, the combustion cars are fabulous, I love listening to that engine sound in the morning, I try to take advantage of those moments when there are no more combustion engines, I have a nice memory.

I support for the manufacture and use of electric cars, but it can not run as fast as cars that use gasoline, maybe if the speed can be increased as fast as a car using gasoline it would be like someone who uses it because it does not cause pollution

a good question for development. Electric trains with me are a great way to help people bridge the gap. Instead of walking, you just sit in the car and it will help you get to where you want in the quickest time possible. Nothing is better when the distance of the half of the earth is measured in hours.

Electric cars are innovations to reduce global warming very well. Although electric cars are not as fast as gasoline cars, electric cars are more environmentally friendly. electric cars can be used for public vehicles and gasoline cars can be used for racing, if I can like this I believe, global warming will decrease.

If you live in a region with coal generated power then your supposedly green electric car is likely causing more polution than a gas powered car.  It takes twice as much energy to make an electric vehicle so the second it hits the street it already has a larger carbon footprint and depending on type of power used to charge the car it could be worse for the evironment.

Electric cars are more efficient to use than the usual cars today. Since electric vehicles do not emit carbon dioxide, then it won't be harmful to our environment. Carbon dioxide harms our ozone layer. It makes our Ozone layer thinner.

For electric cars - certainly the future. Although there are still a lot of factors for making a decision on the sidelines of buying them. In comparison, they will not be affordable for many. My opinion at the moment - they are good for the city and short trips to short distances.

In some cases, the choice of an electric vehicle will make economic sense. For example, if the buyer expects a rise in gasoline prices or not sure about the amount of his future income and that he will be able to spend considerable sums annually on fuel only. For travel or long trips, I'd still prefer a gasoline car.

It looks like it's a sign of good technological progress. As long as it does not cause other problems, for example air pollution, I will support it.

It's the next step in auto-mobile. Petrol cars will just lose out in terms of efficiency and convenience once the infrastructure to support electric cars are developed.

However, Im not sure if having electric cars are more earth-friendly; yeah sure they dont emit smoke and doesnt need to burn fuel out, but I'm not really sure if the process of charging them up is completely safe for the environment. That's why I think we  must invest our time, money, and effort on finding out what the optimal electric car is and start working on it (something both safe and great for humans and the earth) because sooner or later, fueled cars will have to go.

I think this is clear without doubt. Electric cars are a thing of the future. And I will always choose the future over the past. There are many ways they just outdo gasoline cars. So far many people have doubted the speed of an electric-fueled car. Tesla broke this assumption. Carrying successor from its inaugural unit, the New Tesla Roadster was able to accelerate 97 kilometers / hour in just 1.9 seconds.

Roadster was first introduced in 2008 with the aim of proving that electric cars are not always ugly plus slow. But the achievement of success was not satisfying Tesla until finally they showed the super ability of the New Tesla Roadster.

Yeh, and now high end firms like Ferrari and Bugatti are designing the next generation of all electric super-cars. These things are incredible even featuring nano-material self-healing bodywork. Google it, you will be amazed at what future cars are about to start being manufactured.

I think the best thing about electric cars is its upgrade from typical cars. Right now there are already those that are self-driving and hands-free that keeps the care on the line even if you are not holding the steering wheel, thanks to advance navigation system and all the advanced updates.

I think these cars would be a much better solution when compared to cars running on fuel. First of all, air pollution will be greatly reduced. Secondly, they are much quieter. Negative aspects would be high electricity consumption.

The electric cars is great vehicles. They can reach 100 mph even faster than most of gasoline cars. And yes they are not fast as Ferrari cars. But their speed will be changed dramatically in the next 5 years.

Electric cars are a trend in the car industry. But electric cars are expensive, hard to find charging stations, fast electricity, even fast battery. There are a lot of new power stations that need to be upgraded, and they have to be upgraded faster. 30 minutes a game, 4-5 behind the wait has caused stagnation and waste of time and then a lot. The solution should be to build a lane for electric vehicles to go with just charging.

The main advantage of electric cars would be the massive reduction in environmental air pollution. In addition to that, it also creates less noise pollution compared to other fueled automobiles. However, the disadvantages include the greater cost to buy them, limited charging stations, time consumed for recharging, etc. In our country, there are still very limited numbers of electric cars manufactured and used. Infact, they only serve as a public utility vehicle, not as private vehicle.

Electric cars is a must now in Europe. They banned cars from euro 3 on the city centers. Electric cars is a possible solution for the pollution it could be an environmental friendly one but car manufacturers must low their cost to let normal people can buy them. I am a fan of Tesla cars so I believe electric cars are really one thing we should watch out for in the future. I mean, there's a lot of potential for this one. It may take some time to fully develop these cars and the mass adaptation will be harder, though.

I think that electric cars is the best option for transportation provided it can be charged with solar energy.   If solar panel is installed on the roof of the car ; then it will be getting charged continuously during day hours.  While driving in the day time when the car will be continuing charging; it will be possible to drive for some kilometers after the sun set too. 

Pollution will be definitely zero by using this car.  I am eagerly waiting for the electric cars running on the roads of my city to enjoy pollution free life.

Although it is environmentally friendly, electric car technology needs to be improved. With full charge, the distances that cars can go are still too short. As far as I know, many companies in Europe will start production of electric vehicles.

I believe that the problems with charging stations, btw, will be solved in near future - it`s a new technology that will take some time to properly develop, it was the same with gas stations at the beginning.

What about Tesla? For example: The Model S P85D, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive vehicle has a governed top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h) and it accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0 to 97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds (tested to 3.1 seconds), under "Insane Mode", with 1g of acceleration. So, it’s not slow for sure😏

There are some hybrid cars that make less harm to the environment and drive as usual. And I don't think that electric cars drive slower. In the city, it doesn't really matter. I bet they can drive 100 km/h (Tesla can do it for 2 seconds, for example).

I think they are the future. We have to accept what burning oil is doing to Earth and must find ways to utilize energy in cleaner forms.

I'm still on the fence about purely electric vehicles.  Are they really better for the environment when you factor in the energy required to recharge the battery?  Also, they seem to cost significantly more than their gas-powered counterparts (at least for now).  I also don't like the idea of needing to find a "supercharger" charging station for my car's battery if I need to make an extended haul.

 I think the Tesla looks super cool though. Would love to own one and try its autopilot features.

First of all, "smarter" does not mean better, as it's been shown that these new types of cars can be hacked into and taken control of from the outside. Second, there's something to be said about the good ol' gas fed engine, including power, speed, etc, AND there's nothing stopping them from getting better (unless they're already at peak possible performance, with no more innovations, which I don't think is the case). There are already extremely efficient and low emission gas-fed cars out there. Also, engines which run on diesel can even use alternative sources, such as re-used vegetable oil. On top of that, I remember watching a Japanese invention which turns plastic garbage into different grades of useable fuel... add that to your car and help clean up the streets :D Thirdly, fully electric cars, as well as hybrids seem to be getting better, including in speed. The concept is nice, particularly if you combine it with self-sufficient means, such as solar power, or perhaps even generating electricity while coasting downhill, etc. and they could be made to plug into a variety of power sources, I imagine. There are a number of electric generators and fuel cells which could be used to help power an electric car without needing to stop at a refueling station (such as, perhaps, bloom energy fuel cells). Fourthly, electric cars, as cool as they are, and with all the potential they could hold, and all the different options they could have, are not the only other alternatives to gas-fed engines. Way back in the day they had wood-powered cars using a wood gas generator for gasification. Perhaps you could even add onto this concept with a gasifier that takes any organic material and harvests gas from it... your left-over turkey carcass, extra-carb burger buns, or the garbage from your last fast food meal. Combined with the plastic to oil device mentioned above, you might be able to run a fuel/gas-powered car off of bags of garbage :D Electric gyrobuses are a thing, where the flywheel is used to store electric energy - in hill countries, the downhill parts can respin the gyroscope, the stored energy of which can be used to take it up the next hill. To my understanding, they do need to be recharged every now and then - how frequently, I don't know, which can be done with overhead chargers at every bus stop. Then there are compressed air-powered engines (of which I currently know of two different designs) - imagine stopping at the gas station and using the air compressor to fill up your engine... or, imagine having an onboard air-compressor which could either be powered via different electric generators, like solar, and/or with the mechanical energy or electric generation from downhill movement, and/or even the energy which can be garnished from things like heat from the brakes. Ideas ideas. Then there's also the idea of the Thorium-fueled, nuclear-powered car... which could run for a very long time without refueling - however, I believe this may still be just a concept, and there are some who say the idea is nonsense. There is even the claim by some, that they have managed to create water-powered engines (or perhaps re-purpose their old engines to use water) for their own vehicles. While claims like this may be taken with some skepticism, let's remember that water is in fact composed of two flammable and even explosive elements (at least on Earth) - hydrogen and oxygen, and there are people who have at least complemented their fuel supply with hydrogen generators based on this fact (one should be extremely careful with this, however, and make sure safety mechanisms are in place.  

Maybe even mechanical pedal power, or electrical generation from a flywheel, electric generator, and pedal power, could also be used in combination with some of the above. Maybe even just a bicycle car :P or hybrid :D

I think it's the future since there is a finite amount of Fossil Fuel deposits, plus it has 0 emissions

We have electric scooters. They need to be charged for 4 hours to start while refueling takes only two minutes. We can use multiple batteries to sort out this problem. And these electrical vehicles would be best. However, I wonder what could happen in case of bad accidents, I mean electric shock or a face victim of an acid battery ? In this case too, we can use solid batteries with properly secured electric connections.

This is a great idea. But, alas, it is still difficult to implement.
Moreover, oil corporations are unlikely to allow it.

I think they are the future. That is pretty sure. Some big countries already making plans to go full-on electric cars by 2040 etc. So, it is really just a matter of time. Something that I think we are also going to see more and more in the blockchain world - Projects that are about renewable energy and electric vehicles, one like Zelectrix (http://www.zelectrix.com), which I think is awesome from the earth's perspective.

Having driven a hybrid vehicle for the past couple of years I will admit that I have a preference for this kind of solution. There's no doubt that some of the electric vehicles perform well. However, I don't like the range anxiety that will surely accompany the owners of these type of vehicles. Also, I hate the myth that these vehicles are being touted as the environmentally friendly choice. HAs anyone looked into the environmental impact of extracting lithium? Doesn't look very good for the environment to me...

Pure electric cars have much lower fuel costs – electricity is cheaper than petrol or diesel – and maintenance costs
 but petrol cars have the advantage – as range isn’t as much of a limitation here as it is for electric vehicles.

Electric cars are awesome. I recently got an electric scooter myself. The car is the next step. Hopefully these will soon become more affordable.

Inevitable.  As the price of easily portable liquid fuel rises, eventually it will become uneconomical to continue mass-producing internal combustion engines consuming liquid alkanes.

I think it's our near future, and not because this technology is more powerful or faster, but we cannot use cars on oil anymore. Our planet is already harmed so much that we should start thinking about it right now.

I think soon it won't be that hard to charge your electric car and also that the lifespan of the battery will be much longer. :) Hoping to get one myself sometime as well.

I believe my appreciation for EVs, particularly the Tesla is growing. I just read how some of its features are helping those coping with the CA wildfires. Some thought a particular car feature was too gimmicky, but it’s protecting lives now.

Craziness in purest form. Lets for a minute assume every car on the road now is electric, can you imagine the amount of toxic waste from batteries. It would cost halve the new price just to dispose of it.

Use electric car according to your preference, it's good because it's much more ecofriendly and not noisy in compared to engined car. Less polution also. More efficient and cheaper.

You mean they have better top speed, but that doesn't make them faster. The tesla roadster takes only 1.9seconds to go from 0 to 100, and that is faster than any fuel car. But Electric cars haven't got to 400km/h yet. But there are no roads for that speed so it's nonsense.

Probably the reason for that is lack of transmission gears. They have indeed a lower top speed, but they apply force direct to the wheel making them more efficient. Given most typical car usage, I'd say it covers most needs. They are even fast enough for the Autobahn, but are software speed capped in other countries, and they are probably less efficient at top speeds anyway.

Tesla seems to be using their own custom size batteries now, originally they just used 18650 Li-ION. They improved the capacity over the years while still using the same space (the floor of the car). And to further the industry, Elon Musk gave permission to anyone free use of their Tesla patents.

Given this topic, on YouTube I found a scientist who is developing a type of combustion where he can move a car with only the use of water, I think this is already level 1 in technology, but these inventions are so great, you see they are already, what happens is that the oil industry and gasoline production is very strong and very large, so do not let the initiative grow because they would be millionaire losses for them.

Electric cars runs at a satisfactory speed. Unless you are joining a race, don't use this. But if you are just gonna use it just to joy ride, personal service amd other stuff that doesn't require high speeds, then you can go with e-car. When you think about the annoyance of periodically having to do a line at a gas station, and the space those take in cities, your descendants would only wonder how could you be so stupid.

Think about digital cameras, explain a young one how in the past you had to use film and how that needed a lengthy process so you could finally see a picture printed in a paper.

In the not too far future, all parking spots will have an electric plug, so every time you park, your car gets charged. Going into a gas station will literally disappear from people's life, the same way developing pictures at at shop (or at home) disappeared entirely.

I'm pretty sure that electronic cars are the future, i don't own one myself yet but i want to once the oil reserves dry out there will be the need for
another kind of fuel for cars and electric cars are a step in the right direction. I also think that a lot of people will still drive normal cars until the oil runs out because of the sound and the feeling that you get with a regular more specific fast car or a muscle car for example, but maybe we could solve the sound issue by installing a hifi surround sound system imitating a muscle cars noises  :)

The oil reserves won't dry in your lifetime, don't bother waiting for that, just buy it at your best convenience, preferably before all your local gas stations disappear (give it a few more decades).

When oil production peaks globally, it won't disappear the next day. Supply will simply slowly decrease, and price will slowly rise to compensate, which will in turn increase the demand for electric vehicles, and perhaps production.

Granted, Tesla's are luxury cars, over qualified for someone doing a daily commute, but Elon wanted to change the worldwide perception and challenge all the established companies, which i think he did successfully. From his efforts the whole world benefits (he released the patents of his electric engines for anyone to use). The model 3 is cheaper, but still a luxury. Probably the cheapest pure electric cars won't come from Tesla, maybe from China or such very compact 4 seats at best.

Electric cars are the future.. what do you think..? How many more years we'll run on fossil fuels..?

Yea there are many good cars hybrid + electricity. Tesla and many cars are like a missile when you put the pedal to the metal

Perhaps we see in the coming years, the streets are crowded with these electric cars or solar cars, if these cars prove their efficiency and environmental friendliness without polluting it, in my opinion technology will be able to make these cars successful, but I think one of the negatives of this electric car will be the high price of its batteries.

Obviously nobody is making them anymore... Electric cars charge when they park, a commuter would typically do it at work and home, never ever wasting time elsewhere such as in a gas station.

Oil peaked in America in the 70ies, and is expected to peak globally in a few years. The oil doesn't stop overnight, it simply slows down extraction (not unlike bitcoin), and the reminder of it becomes more expensive and harder to pull out from the ground.

Calling it "scam" is the same as saying the Sun is a scam. Oil is not infinite, regardless of your mistaken opinion about electric vehicles.

In a few years, you won't find gas stations anymore. Lets see what will you do then. Better get yourself a bicycle... Oh, i have these negatives that need developed, could you take them to the "photo shop"? Oops, can't do that anymore can you? ¿How about renting a VHS tape? ¿What have you done to Blockbuster?

Current Tesla battery banks last at least a decade, they gave 10 year warranties on them since the first model S. Let me see the amount of (non-renewable) fuel you burn in a decade, and the harm the oil industry does to extract it in the same time span.

Li-ION (and derivatives) pack the highest density / energy ratio batteries ever had, 19th century technology had to be tethered typically using a hanging catenary like the trains still use.

Oh and it won't be your place, but mine, the last country on earth to see an electric vehicle. Its a sad effect of free gasoline. We even still use CRTs and analog TV here, Do you?
