Because the whole bitcoin goes down rapidly and all oldoini fall behind him, and Etherium classic is no exception

Not only Ethereum Clasic, all altcoin price has decreased in this time. I also don't know the cause and hopefully the price of all altcoins soon will recover.

I doubt much of anything is going to be up no matter what the news.  I think that once things settle down and people calm down Ethereum Classic will start it's upward ascent.  I have a decent position in this coin and cannot wait for it to be worth what it should be worth.  Current prices suck. 

Now price of Ethereum Classic is recovevred. I think dump was connected with testing new features in ETC blockchain because of what part of the blockchain capacity was idle.

Coinmarket cap is one of the most trusted in the cryptocmarket and it's the basis of majority of the players here so I don't think they would lie to you about the market value.

Only reason it's not continuing to fall with every other crypto- but certainly a fine reason. Litecoin saw huge pumps in 2017 because people were by and large purchasing the cheapest coin on Coinbase. ETC will now be the cheapest one to buy. It's flawed logic but logic that is employed by many average Joes.

I think it's good time to buy cheap ETC for my long term investment portfolio because US-based investors will buy ETC on Coinbase and ETC price will be increasing slowly next months.

I think this is due to the fact that the entire market of altcoins is now falling. And Coinbase announced the listing on August 7, which everyone was waiting for. But already all who wanted to buy - bought, and now there is no one to buy, so the price falls. I think that during the listing there will be a micro pump, but then the price will fall even more.

All altcoins had been affected with the downfall of bitcoin and Ethereum classic is not exempted with the bloodbath of the market. Expect this will rise once the market recovers.

When all altcoin things fall down. Only ETC is going up. Because according to the news I know, ETC is listed at the coinbase. Very good news with any altcoin. So ETC has been FOMO and prices have risen 20% in the past few days

Every market is tied to the bitcoin price. With the addition on coinbase many customers will be able to buy ETC with fiat currency and hopefully Ethereum Classic market will decouple from BTC movements.

Selling panic of investors is the main reason for the price drop in this moment. Almost all altcoin are reduced and all are heavily dependent on Bitcoin. I believe this stage will soon end and people can be seen rising again in the next few months. Just wait and do nothing during this period because only a small mistake, you will lose a lot of money

Cryptocurrency market is generally very volatile. But one is a fact, the market does go down right now without any visible reason. I lean to think that it’s still the consequences of  Bitcoin fall (Mt Gox & Roger selling, China kicking out miners, ICOs Fraud) and unhappily all of this being combined with the end of  Tax Year. It does need time to get back up.

In the time of every crypto decreasing, ETC is the only one increasing right now (among the popular ones of course).
ETC is also popular for unnatural pump and dump and you can expect such price rise and fall anytime with such coins (ones that are purely intended to make profit from unsuspecting investors).

Probably it is due to FUD that circulates about scams specially on ICO which the main coins used is ethereum. Panic makes people sell their stocks which makes the price go down.

We need to understand further, that the coin is currently down, so this decline is as if it were a mass turn. There is still a chance to go up, be patient to see the development of the market going forward.

Many crypto-currencies fall and Ethereum Classic is no exception.

Now bitcoin has grown a bit and has fallen in price. The next will grow Ethereum.

I am going to take a short and say that the reason that the price of ethereum classic is going down is the same reason that the prices of all of the altcoins are going down which is because bitcoin price is down. They all follow the same trend, as long as the price of bitcoin is still going down then you should expect that all the prices of other altcoins including  ethereum classic will be down.

Because in itself this project though has a very large number of good and positive news, but it seems to me that people clearly do not understand that they should compare the situation with the market as a whole.

Because is not living up to it's promise! Ethereum classic was potrayed and sold to be better decentralized than Ethereum! There was enthusuasm surrounding ethereum classic for the believers in decentralization. But alas, ethereum classic have had a stunted growth since!

At first I was going to say that all alts are going down these days and that Ethereum Classsic is no different in that regard. But it looks like ETC is different because contrasted with overall red market it has gained 4.53% in USD price during the last 24 hrs.

Btw, it's not going down in relation to Bitcoin during this year. The price of ETC was 0.0025 BTC in the beginning of January, exactly as it is today.

A slightly strange question, given the market situation, and the fact that the price of all coins is reduced. When the market recovers (I believe that all the same it will happen), then prices will therefore start to rise, and the price of ETC will not be an exception. Patience, my friend.

I think it's like this every year, I believe there will be an increase in a few months, people will return to the crypto world. they will need ethereum back in time. Hopefully this is not sustainable.

Well everything is going down at this point plus it is probably having some sell the news trading going on since its Coinbase debut.  I assume once everything shakes out we will see Ethereum Classic moving back upwards. 

Well, you have a point. The main cryptocurrency was down and then probably expected that other altcoins were also followed to bitcoin price movement. Surely it will upward when bitcoin price back to normal, I personally don't have doubt into this Ethereum classic coins because it has a great technology which is good to hold for a long term.

As for ETC, it seems to me that everything is clear here, because a lot of people with ETC appeared on the market, so people who can sell it became smaller and, accordingly, the price began to fall, this situation is standard.

I think it pumped up due to the coinbase listing news and people are now moving elsewhere.  I don't think classic beats Ethereum in any way shape or form so it was people just playing it for the pump and dump. 

I don't care about people who say ethereum classic there will be a less satisfying drop depending on each person but we are optimistic that hopefully the price is stable and many more people are buying and selling shares so the stock market is excited.

I believe that the decline is caused by the fact that the market is falling. and this is reflected in the price of the coins.
