Title: /r/Bitcoin
Post by: Techius on August 04, 2018, 11:18:06 AM
What is wrong with these people?

I've never scammed, trolled, lied or begged in /r/Bitcoin. His ban is idiotic and he can't substantiate his claims. I'm banned for taking refuge in the BCH Subreddit from the bullshit HE instigated in the first place.

Unacceptable. These remarks are defamatory and libelous.

Welp this is nothing new, there's been reports they are manipulating information. You would probably find more, if you dig deep

Censorship of Cryptocurrency Discussions on Reddit Gets Kafkaesque (https://news.bitcoin.com/censorship-of-cryptocurrency-discussions-on-reddit-gets-kafkaesque/)

Now that you know what kind of place it is, there's no reason to stay. It's not like it's the only platform where you can discuss things about cryptocurrency. You can start here!

You do realize that the head moderator of /r/bitcoin is theymos the same person who owns this forum right?

TBF, there is no censorship here. While no one can deny that the mods of /r/bitcoin do delete some stuff that doesn't fit their agenda. You can talk about BCH here (in the Altcoin Board, obviously), but not in that subreddit (because it's actually /r/bitcoin and not /r/bitcoincash).

So both bitcointalk and r/bitcoin is administrated by the same person but with entirely different agenda with those sites.

theymos has the most control over this forum and the subreddit. But the subreddit mods aren't mods here.

/r/Bitcoin is supposed to be a BITCOIN subreddit. So Bitcoin Cash discussions aren't allowed there. That's what most mods of the subreddit delete (people claiming BCH is the real Bitcoin, claiming that Blockstream owns Bitcoin and it's controlled by the banks, etc...), meanwhile, this forum is more open to this kind of 'trolling' and discussions about BCH/other altcoins.

I hope that this has a chance to explains it. I don't know the exact situation, I just noticed that you wrote:

I'm banned for taking refuge in the BCH Subreddit

While BCH sites claim that their altcoin is the real Bitcoin and lure newbies into buying that altcoin without knowing they don't buy Bitcoin, for example, it's not uncommon that BCash supporters are called scammers and liars. So if you go with those friends, please don't be so intrigued that some may call you too scammer or liar.

I think the reason mods are so much twitchier there is because of that upvote/downvote horseshit and all the possibilities to fuck with the perception of threads.

On here someone writes some shit, other people call them a prick or ignore them. That's about it. Reddit has far more possibilities to undermine and reframe things, not that I see why anyone should care. I loathe Reddit as a format.
