Title: Investors! What do you Invest in? The project or The token
Post by: dadatosin01 on August 05, 2018, 09:35:28 AM
Hi Everybody here.

I have seen many investors complain here and on telegram about the token price going down after ICOs as soon as the token hit an exchange, even when the actual project they invested in hasn't be release. Investing in project mean you are interested in the project and you want to be part of it. So It will important that investor should at least give the project sometime to succeed before complaining about the token price. 3 years to 5 years is not too much for an investor to give a project to succeed.  Even Bitcoin as project itself during its 10 years has seen many ups and downs, only the true investors that believes in the bitcoin project are as successful  as bitcoin  today.

That is why i want to ask investors here. What they really invest in? The Project or The token.  I will like everyone opinion here and i will like to learn from you guys also.

When investing it is a good idea to check the roadmap. You will find basic information there when the team is planning certain achievements and if most of the action will take place in 2019-2020 for example you should be patient and wait it out.

The project of course, this is the only way to make a lot of money and help good projects to develop. And all my investments are for long term, at least 2-3 years.

You have answered your own question in your topic. Here the majority invests to multiply their investments. If you say that everyone complains that the price of tokens falls after the ICO, then, accordingly, everyone will invest in the project. There are cases when after the release of the tokens the price increases sharply, as they are in great demand from those investors who did not have time to buy at the ICO. After some time, the price falls and is very low.

The claim that valuable coins need to pass the test of time is very correct. But currently, only BTC can do this. In addition to BTC, I don't think there are any coins worthy of my adventure, especially those tokens.

The project or the token? Usually we are talking at the same things. If you say project tokens or altcoins, i will say 50/50%.

I only invest in the projects I believe in. I don't invest blindly, without doing any research. Doing the opposite you will most surely lose money, unless you are a lucky guy who wants to gamble. :)) The crypto space is still in its infancy and we should treat it like an huge opportunity to make a change in our lives and also make a better world by contributing to worthy projects.

Depends of you want a good long term hodl like with LISK where the project is good and has great long term potential. Or if you want a shitcoin pump and dump trade where you can find lots on Yobit for some fun token trades

when I invest in ICO, I have to know their Road map, sometimes my investment in ICO has no guarantee of time, you have to be patient with the project, sometimes the ICO works for a long time, as an investor you have to understand this, there is no success in a short time.

Too many people who are only concerned with making a few bucks by buying Tokens at a discount in the Presale and then dumping them as soon as the project is listed on exchange and then repeating the process with the next project. I invest in the project and as long as the people behind the project keep meeting their milestones in the development of the project I will continue to hold.

Your question makes me ambiguous. But in my opinion, if they (investors) are complaining about the falling prices after ICO before the product release, that means they choose to invest in token instead of the project. I imagine that because they are only thinking about the price of a token in the market instead of the product.

Recently, I try not to invest in ICOs, because almost always you can buy tokens cheaper after entering the exchange. While the market is not stable, it seems to me that it is best to invest in the most stable coins, from the top 20, because there is a risk that not popular coins can never grow to their former heights.

Some of the ICO's pre token sale equivqlent into USD is still high but once the ICO token is already on the exchange site, it usually goes down. That is what most of the investors had experienced. The best thing  to do is really invest on the right ICO that could really guarantee a good return of investment and how to pick the right ICO could be more on luck and further research and verification about the project.

Yes agree with you now it is the biggest problem of the ICO and tokens are value after ICO, a lot of people only flip and not holding. They are just thinking about how to earn 2 bucks , and not thinking about future. A lot of project are dumped now!

Of course everyone invest in project. But the thing they don't realize is most of the time the project has no any direct or monetarily relation with the token.
Token only remains as speculative and the project and team takes no responsibility for maintaining its price.
We should look for only those ICOs that utilizes the token issued in its operation.

I’m not perfect in the investing line but I can assure you that the best form of investment is to invest in the project, because on the long term when the project is successful; the token price rises

Importantly is to take profit when the time is right

At present, the risk of investing in ICO in this market is very large, because there are many new ICOs that are scams, so I will choose to invest in some excellent cryptocurrencies. Although they have fallen a lot, I think this is a good investment for them. opportunity.

As for me, I only invested in an ICO for less than five times because I am a project-investor. I don't see so much project which are worth investing for - only few. I only choose which to invest. But there are really those who just invest for the bonus and dump right after, ugh.

The only reason for investors is to make the most money and profit possible. So they choose to invest in ICO. Current market is not good for ICO. Having the token reduced several times after reaching the exchange is understandable to this market. But in the future when the market returns. Those projects will grow strongly. It may take a long time to reach

3 years to 5 years wait for project to succeed? I don't think so, most of the investor participants in ICO project the main reason is want to earn quick money from ICO, but most of the project tokens price drop a lot when first listed exchange, so investor blame in project official telegram channel why price drop everydays, I invest the project, not the tokens, I don't participants in shit ICO project, I only participants in ICO project that give me long term profit and future

I believe that investing in the project will yield more huge money than investing in the token, although it takes a longer time before being rewarded for project investment but the reward in monetary term can not be compared to that of the investment made in the token. For me I prefer investing in the project to in the token.

It is depends on our own risk because they have a knowledge in tokens it is more profitable investment and ICO projects are little complicated investment because no one is predict the future possibilities of ICOs So few investors only participate in ICO platform. Nowadays all are investing the Bitcoin and altcoins so I do not consider the both of them.

Token itself doesn't have any real value. The value is provided by the project itself. So, I'd look for the project.
BNB token itself has no value but it gets it's value due to ever limiting burning process of Binance exchange. And hence it's the profit of Binance exchange which is determinant for the price of BNB.

you asked a very good question many of us join projects just for the profit of selling coins/token when they hit exchange that's why we all see those massive complaints about the price dropping by peoples referred as weak hands/quick buck we all see every day those strange and silly question in telegram channels which by doing a simple click to the project website without even reading the whitepaper nor the roadmap you can find the answer but sadly, we don't want to waste our time on reading about serious and promising project in order to support and be a loyal, vibrant community around them and this need to be fixed.

Well in my experience I invest in both because you need to consider the project and the token, in the project you need to check the goal of it is it feasible? is it achievable? or if it has a prototype or if it is utility will someone use it those are the criteria you need in checking the project but in token you need to check their supply because the lower the supply the higher the demand and the higher the supply the lesser the demand and most likely stays at low price and you need to consider the softcap and hardcap.

an ICO investment to date I am still investing in tokens, because it's interconnected where tokens and products will influence each other, that doesn't mean I don't see their project, I always see the fastest possibilities I can make a profit, like at MTC I see the products they offer are very good, and now their tokens and products are very successful for an ICO achievement ,, You know that when tokens offered as proof of our investment are worthless, it's the same as exchanging money for garbage and no investor wants it, many ICOs are very slow to release their products or turn out their products are very bad and end up being worthless, because when gliding products are not guaranteed to make tokens more expensive  ???

If you are asking to investors then i am pretty much sure that investors would really like to go with the projects because the projects are the base block of the tokens and i think if the project is really having long term scope with a good value then i think you should go with the projects than token. Tokens volatility and demand depends on the short term events and spikes and not for long term investing.

I do believe so we should give a new coin time for them to do their project, i believe in 2-3 years we could truly see the potential of the project and we do able to determine whether the project are success or just a trash project.
Mainly because everyone expects crypto and prices to move at a lightening speed.

I look a lot at a project's partners before I invest. If a major organization is partnered with them, makes me believe it a lot more
yes partnership would really help them grow and also with good partnership means the project is real and good.

I would like it to be not so, but I see that this is happening too. So many people are trying to achieve quick results. Have seen and in the chat rooms and in the forum, people that just require immediate results from the projects. "I've invested in you! Give me the moon!" Where is the moon? " ;D Yes, there are very worthy or 'on hype' projects that give a quick impact, but all projects are different and not always so. There are spheres that just wait for their hour and develop. Good and quality work always takes time.
In my case now I try to first study the project in which I will participate, and I try to choose the most worthy ones and which I liked. Inaccuracy, scums, mistakes happens too - not all projects succeed. Also, I try to maintain my favorites further & hodl. At first time there were a lot of mistakes - I wanted to start faster, get to know more quickly and even sometimes chose and entered almost randomly. But over time, of course, appeared and the experience and errors became less. I hope, at least. The market is young and therefore a lot of chaos, but in my opinion, blockchain worth attention and not a few future giants will rise here. We all have a chance to become a part of any huge industry in the future. I have an interest, I try to learn new things and be on the wave. To all newcomers I wish fastest mature. be firm! Good luck!  :)

Those who dump their tokens have probably cared for fast profit scheme rather than the whole concept and potential of the project, common reasons are from excess bonuses from presale, bounty hunters, bloody market and more, real investors paid the price that the sale offered by the ICO why would they dump it for the cheap price? it will also be an advantage to some investors as they can buy cheaper tokens.

I think what you just shared is just insightful. It's actually imperative for anyone who wants to invest in any project should have a clearly defined motion driving them. Hence,it's will save them the tension of panicking when the project is going through some windy times.

my expertise is to assess existing tokens or still in the form of ICO. Token investments are more profitable and can be for the long term. invest pda tokens that have been listed in the market, the easier the analysis is to see the supply token and the token layout in the market for a while will see the trend of the token, whatever we are worth investing or not

I am not telling that this thought is a hundred percent for all.
but most investors are investing in ICO for tokens and its potential price in the market.
and not just with the project.
well to be straight investors want a money back with a good profit.
as it is declared that investing in an ICO and having token doesn't state that you own part of the project.

My answer is unequivocal. I invest in the project. I think this is correct. The more successful the project develops, the higher its token will be valued in the market. Otherwise, the token may fluctuate in price due to speculation in the market.

I think that if you focus on the project you may end up worrying about the value of the tokens eventually, so the project is more important in the first place.

maybe you mean, token or coin projects, if like that I prefer to invest in altcoin or even bitcoin, I am currently not interested in investing in ICO, besides not knowing more about how to choose a good ICO, I prefer to invest in altcoin or bitcoin compared to ICO projects.

As a trader or crypto investor at this time, it is more of for token, entering in exchanges having some good value. The project anyway will only be noticed if we really use the product, though it matters to gain value.

All the investors are looking for the token in return, but there are two type of investors after getting the tokens they invested.
!. The project looker, this kind of investors are keep holding their tokens until the project launch 100%
They are not looking for the market value and just let it slip and wait for long until the project is working and implemented.

The other one are just those sharks who just bite the profit after lisint in exchange.
they also do scalping to spread their warnings more.

I am more interested in investing in technology from the project. A real project will provide maximum results. Users will use technology that is good for the future.
