Title: Antminer S1 lower hashing rate and high HW errors Post by: CryptoGuy2014 on February 22, 2014, 08:10:10 PM Hello People,
I bought 2 Antminer S1's and since I set them up I have noticed that one machine preforms alot worse than the other. Each machine has its own 850w gold modular PSU. one machine runs like this, it was running fine at stock so I overclocked it and it runs great!! http://i62.tinypic.com/ve6t1j.jpg But this other one, running stock is slower at 169GH/s max and if overclocked only reaches 180GH/s max and will have 1 x in asic status. http://i62.tinypic.com/i2ufjd.jpg Maybe a bad chip? I have reset the unit several times, sometimes an x shows up chain 2 asic status but then goes away. ooooooooo ooooooooo ooooooooo ooooooooo oooooooox ooooooooo ooooooooo ooooooooo Just wondering if I should RMA it or if there is something I can do to get it to run like the other? Thanks Title: Re: Antminer S1 lower hashing rate and high HW errors Post by: MisterLG on February 22, 2014, 09:08:39 PM Give it some time. The second miner is only up for 1 hour, so he should do fine after a few more hours. Only you have very very very high HW errors, thats not good. Mine antminers have 0-1 HW after two weeks mining!

The second miner is only up for 1 hour, so he should do fine after a few more hours. Only you have very very very high HW errors, thats not good. Mine antminers have 0-1 HW after two weeks mining! The up time on the units has been over a week, but I have reset/moved them to other locations recently. the first unit has had a constant 200+GH/s and the other only 169GH/s and high HW errors, but I am not sure what is normal for these machines, also I calculated the HW errors and they seem to be around 1% or so, compared to the first unit at around .04% I will play around with it some more and see if I can get it running smoothly. Any more advice would be appreciated :) Title: Re: Antminer S1 lower hashing rate and high HW errors Post by: mxz280 on February 23, 2014, 01:02:55 AM Open circuit boards, thermal grease paint again.

The thermal grease that Bitmain uses is silicon based, it is not conductive. I have one running at 3% which seems a bit high too. Should be lower than 1% Title: Re: Antminer S1 lower hashing rate and high HW errors Post by: ineedit on March 01, 2014, 08:14:39 AM Your second unit seems to be running around 10% errors unless my calcs are wrong? If you are wireless rather than physical cable then make sure that the antenna that you have added is seated properly and gets a good signal. I have tried both lan / wifi also tried a different internet connection / router it seems consistently high. Now getting intermittent ASIC failures on the status page which I'm assuming is not good! Now getting intermittent ASIC failures on the status page which I'm assuming is not good! Well you admitted you over clocked it right in this thread. So you are basically fucked if bit main chooses to void your warranty. You should contact them and see how they will handle your problem> I am interested as I ordered 2 orders of 2 total of 4 got one completely doa and they were really bad about my rma. I ended up sending it to a guy that had 200-300 on hand and he will give me a new one. You are worse off then me since over clocking voids warranty they have the right to say oh well to you . I have links to my issues I will look for them https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448425.msg5440105#msg5440105 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.msg5440344#msg5440344 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355387.msg5460924#msg5460924 I hope they are better to you them they were to me. |
