Title: Need some help with new mining rig.
Post by: DIV1D3 on February 23, 2014, 06:08:29 AM
Hi, I'm going to be purchasing these items:
http://postimg.org/image/4rhbyrjqb/ (http://postimg.org/image/4rhbyrjqb/)
and
http://postimg.org/image/opecystyb/ (http://postimg.org/image/opecystyb/),
and I was hoping to get some help on how to set up the mining software after I install Ubuntu. I'll mine on multipool as I don't really want to be manually changing coins. Btw I already have an ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer so I'll use it in the rig. I also need some help on how to get a frame, I can't really make one as I don't have the materials or equipment. Could you suggest a frame to get or something I could just whip up to work?
If you help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!

Why is that? The 270s have a 6-pin power connector, that is enough, isn't it?

With the risers, did you even check out the second link? I'd like to see some hash results from the 280 if you don't mind, I'll check it out.
The R9 280Xs are going for $385 here, and only get to max 800KH/s, 270s though are $220 and reach 450KH/s-480KH/s. Idk what to go for :S.

Join a little too late, difficulty is too high for the rig to earn itself back, use it for gaming.

Too late? How? I would be able to get 2.8MH/s with the 6 270s.

you're joking right? You can't even make much with 50Gh/s. With 2.8Mh/s you're estimated 0.000015BTC per MONTH. Unless of course you're using it to mine other coins it might work.

For BTC your right, but can definitely recoup the costs of the rig by mining the right altcoins.
