Title: Ideas for bitcoin sites that are needed?
Post by: e2048 on August 08, 2018, 08:03:41 PM
I am a very experienced web developer, programmer and server administrator.
I can build any site completely by myself.
In the past I have built many highly complex sites.

I am looking for ideas on bitcoin based businesses, things people want to buy with bitcoin but cannot do easily.
I could easily make an exchange but there are so many already.
The other ideas I had like to book flights or online store other people have already done this.

If anyone has any ideas then let me know.

Better how?
What can I do that would be better?
I use a few exchanges already and I don't really see anything I could improve on.
I don't really want to make a clone.

I don't really want to make a clone.

You can offer faster processing times, better exchange rates. With your web design experience you can offer a better user experience, a more intuitive user interface.

If you wander around the subject matter aimlessly, you are never going to get anywhere. On the other hand, if you drill down into one specific topic, your expertise will find plenty of play to discover your competitive advantage or unique angle that's better than existing ventures.  That then happens to be your product, or mvp!

TBH, I see your point, but op has made a valid point. I too think the market saturation of exchanges is way too saturated, with the exception of one type of exchange.

Local exchanges (focusing on one specific country market), are actually a great idea. For example, an exchange targeting the Canadian, UK, etc market wouldn't be a bad idea. Just try to stick to a country besides the US (for obvious reasons - It's way too saturated)

there is no real difference between a local and an unlocal exchange if both a trustworthy and have a localisation (langauge)

even browsers nowadays automatically translate languages,

this local exchange idea isnt that great actually i thinkg for that would be enough to create a facebook group

It's basically about targeting a niche market, which is easier to market. Along with the added advantage of having more localized payment methods.

What about something with Amazon

Basically, people could buy anything from Amazon but within your site. Not sure how to implement the idea. Maybe using services like BitPay.
You could make a clone from Amazon website, people buy items (delivered by Amazon) and pay in cryptos. The coins are converted to fiat automatically (with Bitpay or any other) and your Amazon account is automatically topped up with a bank account (the one you used to receive BitPay payments)

I thought to do exactly this.
And as far as I remember amazon actually have a white label service and an API.
But upon further research I seen newegg and others already accept bitcoin directly.

I am good at making sites but not good at marketing I don't want to enter a market that is saturated.
I want to produce something unique that is useful and to be the best.

I believe this has already been done in the past. I don't think you have to go as far as making a clone. Websites in the past just simply had a input where you could enter in the URL of the item, and it would open up a ticket for you to purchase the item on the customers behalf.

Be sure to have a large amount of funds available for early customers, unless you plan on converting the BTC to USD automatically, and making the purchase that way. You would have to profit off the spread.

Do you guys really think this is a viable business idea?
While there is no other sites like it that I can find, there are sites selling amazon gift vouchers for bitcoin.
From looking at it from the point of view as if i was the buyer, I would probably be more inclined to buy the gift card and make my order myself on amazon then to order it through a 3rd party.

Also, I'm not sure how amazon would react to me making many purchases all to be shipped to different addresses. Wouldn't they view this as suspicious?

i think with your webdesigner skills you could do much better than such a niche market. although it would work as a facebook plugin for example

nevertheless i woul recommend you to work on a general cryptoeconomy related website or support several icos with your skills i could use someone helping me with webdesign as i am no specialist in that field

If you are very experienced web developer, I think envato.com (themeforest) is great choice for you to work, if you have programming experience too as you say, then codecanyon.net (well, all of them are under Envato).
Making of exchange is waste of time because alone you can't build highly secure exchanger. Flight bookings are already in bitcoin from famous and trustworthy companies. On another hand, online store is still a great idea.
What about to show us your works?

Are your skills solely applicable to web development or do you have knowledge/experience with cryptography and Blockchain technology.
Bitcoin itself is spreading quickly but there is much more potential with creating other blockchain related services.
The Bitcoin e-commerce space is expanding and unless you have something that knocks the competition out of the water it’ll be difficult to break ahead.

On a side note, how confident are you in your ability to code an exchange? Do you have a team or are you solo? If you are serious about it and can demonstrate the skills then I can put you in touch with some people who’d be interested.

I have a buttload of ideas for you when it comes to exchanges.

Begin off with a decentralized exchange.

You need at least 500 people to be working on the exchange, keep 50 at first, increase them as time passes.

Keep your exchange updated with new things happening every day(crediting forks, having segwit addresses as an option), find an alternative to hot wallets.

Be in a country which won't ever ask for KYC details.

Better fees, better usability. Give users access to private keys(very important).

Don't list shitcoins.

Have the ability to buy and sell bitcoins for cash directly.

Have the best security measures for your  exchange. Avoid having an ICO for your exchange. Get capital through other means.

what is the ultimate, unbiased definition of a shitcoin?

Those ICOs that just offer money to get listed on a exchange and have no real future, and have no intention to do what they promised.

the last one is the one that can tbe taken the one with have no real future is already somehow biased, as it would imply a certain degree of perfectionism.

we suffered enough from banksters that constantly give power to the big the rich and the estaqblished making live for founders a hell, and for those established a paradise.

no point that we continue doing that now

what you could add here is "coins that are completely inactive, without working website or team not responding updating"

If I am correct they stopped to sell Amazon gift cards for Bitcoin. And another thing is it was only selling Amazon.com gift cards (no .uk, .de, .in...). Many times I search for a site selling gift cards for Amazon in my country but I have never found any. So I was using Purse.io instead. I would be happy to be able to use Bitcoin with Amazon.

I don't think Amazon will see it suspicious to send multiple purchases to different addresses. It's not like if you were paying with different cards for each purchase

If your doing this why not find a client make a business transactions with them ask them how they want it but to the fact that as a developer and they want you to handle it :) .

I would suggest if your client want something like making a ICO website thatvis common like having a whitepaper viewing the team and seing the token.

here suggest them this I want to see one of this kind of website, and that is if you are a game developer as well make something unique that would show a lottle about the project and make sure that is related. I would say an essy game play that is not that long to finish to win. like having it as an airdrop

Playing that game has its limits because it would serve as an airdrop and people might take advantage of it of course.

It would be great if you can tackle the challenge to create a more user-friendly decentralized exchange, because the ones out there are too complex for most newbies to understand. The centralized exchanges are actually a threat to financial privacy for most die hard crypto currencies users.

The decentralized exchanges is also difficult to take down and more secure than centralized exchanges.  ;)

wow such an awesome suggestion, but i think he wants to make a profit or get a n incomesource for himself, he can max use a banner,

but i think the free exchanges will come anyway. since they are an awesome place for advertisement
