Hello everyone and welcome to the TAXI COIN community!

We the devs are very excited to see where TAXI COIN will head with your support and interest. We have been working since launch to resolve issues we faced with the offical pool and source hence the delay in getting this posted, our apologies.

First off we wanted to address the launch issues we faced.

1 - WE DID NOT PREMINE THIS COIN.

2 - We had a critical error with our pool operators (thecryptonians.com) on launch. We did not start solo-mining, we were working on fixing the pool from the second we saw the issue. All our tests on the pool were perfect but when we went live it was a dud. We do however recognize that yes, someone was mining soon after we launched our source live on Github. For anyone who was watching you know it was very very small amount of KHS (cpu mining presumably) for the first hour and a bit before the pool was fixed. In total we are talking about a very small amount of TAXI, which grows smaller (proportionally) every day.

3 - We did not make this coin to pump and dump. The intention of the coin is to open up TAXI and transportation to cryptocurrency not to get on an exchange to be pumped then dumped.

- Exchanges -

We are very interested in getting TAXI COIN [TAXI] listed on good exchanges. We are presently trying to get it listed on www.coinup.com as our first exchange. We haven't rushed to get it listed on launch because we want to make sure that the support, community, and intention of the coin is clear and established before it is listed and speculation abounds. Now that we are gaining momentum and the team is energized and modivated we are looking forward to engaging the community and trying to get TAXI listed at a reputable exchange within the near future.

- Partnerships -

Currently we have a relationship with our pool operators and a few other individuals who have helped us in our effort to get the coin live.

The TAXI COIN team are looking to collaborate with developers, artists, engineers, Taxi drivers, drivers of all kinds, software companies, and just about anyone who is interested in using TAXI COIN or learning more about it.

We have contacted some of the top Taxi companies in the western world and specifically most of the top mobile app companies that work with taxis and transportation. We have some ideas of how TAXI COIN might work with their companies and software but really anything is possible.

We do not own TAXI COIN, no one does. That is what we love about crypto currencies. We want you to help decide what TAXI COIN will eventually become.

Bounties -

  Offical pool (taxi.thecryptonians.com) collects 2% fees and 1% of that is intented to go towards bounties and faucets. The faucets should be up really soon. We are open to suggestions for new bounties please let us know. For now we have a few to get us started.

1 - Explorer   - We are looking for someone to build an explorer for TAXI COIN.
2 - Marketing  - We are intersted in paying some people to help with promotion for TAXI COIN - link backs, twitter,
3 - Mobile App - At the most basic level we are looking for a working mobile wallet app on iOS and Android. Beyond that we are open to hearing ideas on anything you can dream up and execute for taxicoin.
4 - Wallets - Bounties are always earmarked for refinement of the existing wallets, or development of wallets within reason.

We would also like to stress that bounties are in many cases placed in addition to our existing development of TAXICOIN and are meant to help stimulate the TAXICOIN Ecosystem, not to "do our work for us".

Block Time: 90 seconds

Block Reward:

50% of TAXICOINS will be mined in 8 months, During these 8 months the block reward is reduced 3 times, starting at 250, then 125, next 65, and finally 35. The remaining 50% of TAXICOINS will be mined in 12 years, with a block reward reduction every 350,000 blocks (1 year), starting at 20 and reducing by 25%.

SuperBlocks:

There will be superblocks 3 times a day for a 2 week period before and after every block reward reduction, and during the beginning of the coin. The closer to the halving block, the greater the superblock multiplier is, starting at 1x all the way to 18x, and conversely, the further the block halving gets the lesser the superblock multiplier.

How would you describe the payment process taking place in a taxi car between the client and the driver?

I like this coin but seems devs are not into marketing much. You should try harder guys. Its a great idea for niche coin and you should not let it die. Try all exchanges - cryptorush, mintpal etc, use bounties, post in forums, use logos etc. etc.

Why no interest in this coin? I think its a brilliant concept. I been mining on taxi.allpoolz.com for abit and have noticed that network hashrate has steadily been declining since yesterday?? Are you devs not interested in getting this concept off the ground?

I've been mining since launch and I can see that this coin has potential.
It should take off nicely once the blockexplorer and exchanges are online.

We're all very committed to getting this coin off the ground, we do indeed have some bounties out, check the first post on this thread (However the site needs to be updated). We have given out bounties for the windows/mac wallets, and just now have officially adopted the logo created by
doobiedoos.

We're sad to see the net hash rate but we all highly believe in the coin and its potential. So we will do everything and more to get the community this coin deserves up and running.

Faucet will be up soon, and we are looking to get listed exchanges/coinwarz/coinmarketcap/etc...

Doubt it.. taxi.allpoolz.com is stopping their pool, and I noticed the hashrate has dropped to only 6 mh/sec.  when the pools start closing its not good. Too bad, I believe the future is not only in bitcoin but special purpose alternate currencys like this one and REddcoin where the base trading currency is bitcoin. It seems that is a possible direction of crypto currency, making perfect sense that a secure fast transaction exchanged with a secure currency will only make this new industry safer and stronger.

as a cab company owner in duluth, mn i would love to see this coin flourish.  I already accept bitcoin for taxi rides... there's just not much of a bitcoin market up here.  I'm using my website to spread the word.

I like new coins as much as the next miner does, but as a former cab driver I don't see this coin going far. Drivers want CASH, plain and simple. Sure most taxis accept credit cards, but most drivers will make up 1000000 excuses to get cash instead. CC's carry hefty fees and the money earned cannot be spent immediately, which a driver may need for food/gas/etc. Also, drivers are self-employed. It's not the cab companies you need to convince to accept coins, it's the drivers.

Well some of the benefits to using crypto currency is .. you don't need to trust your customer.. the transaction is 100% secure. It can be instantly converted into Dollars or btc and put into a bank account or stored on a bitcoin wallet where it will gain crazy interest. And the biggest advantage is, you cant get robbed of your crypto currency. Of course, unless the crook has a bitcoin wallet and knows your passphrase, or you use MTGOX :)  Im sure every cab driver has a bank debit card of some sort.. and do they spend all the money they take in , in a day?? . just saying...

When Google will launch an unmanned vehicle all taxi companies will go to them and you booking a taxi through your phone will immediately pay in TAXICOIN machine will calculate your location and come to you at this time will be held confirmation your transaction. Such a future may be in TAXICOIN. Think please about future!!! Taxi industry will change as everyone else!!!

I do think taxicoin should be a bit more popular than it is right now.

Taxi drivers/companies do share common systems amongst all of them - they even use same cars/colors despite being different companies.. TaxiCoin really has the potential to become a main system of payment that any small cab company can acquire and become part of it - without having to invest into expensive equipment for billing their customers. it's like bus driving/train driving where you can already use easier methods of billing (voucher cards, etc) which are essentially nothing else than taxicoin is.

The taxicoin p2pool does need some hashpower to get it started. It is working - I tested that. And because of the difficulty, we're going to need a couple of miners to get it going - and when it does - it's an awesome method of mining as it has the fun of solo mining without the risk of getting nothing due to pooled mining ;)

If you guys start using this pool, I will be doing a giveaway ( donation ) of taxicoins to all active miners, too - as a method of returning the fees that were kept in. (set at 2% - but due to the way it calculates it, it tends to be somewhere from 0.5% through 1.2% to 1.7%... so usually a lot lower than 2% and with the giveaway you'll pretty much regain all the fees if you stay with the pool)

would be hard to get this going, as a taxi driver i take bitcoin right now but i cant say i'd give a fare for taxi coin... if taxi drivers wont use it from the getgo it could fail, but i will happily take bitcoin for my fares.

We'd love to see taxi drivers accepting taxicoin, in the future that would be a great use for it. However we feel the ideal use for taxicoin would be in tandem with existing electronic taxi services and apps (and yes, in the far off future when there are driverless taxis).

Getting picked up by apps like Hailo, Uber, etc... would be the ideal position for taxicoin, seeing as those services already require a credit card to use the app, taxicoin would be an amazing fit.

You do know everything is open source, if you cant trust that your just a fool and dont belong in the crypto world.

I actually didn't know that, but also didn't put any thought in to it. I don't have money or time (60 minutes worth of mining to see what the return was about a week or more ago) invested in it, but I do see it as possibly having a use in the future so I wanted some in my possession. I was going to download the Wallet to store the coins rather than leave them on the pool, but after 2-3 minutes of searching I couldn't really find any group of people showing any interest in being a community for it aside from calling it/the devs down.

This coin is still in its infancy, so you wont find much in the way of a large dedicated community like the more established coins launched. Most of the flak we've received is due to the fact we had a shaky launch and lost some credibility from the beginning, but there is a VERY long list of coins with terrible launches that are now some of the most prominent coins in the community.

This coin has potential, as many people have pointed out, and we are working hard to get the coin listed, so you and everyone else who took the time to be involved from the beginning can see some returns.

We're interested in the longevity of this coin and have no ulterior motive, we just want to see it successful, and hopefully in time have the coin entrenched in the taxi/cab industry. We've been expanding our team and efforts and expect great things to come in the near future.

I mined this for the first week or so.. I have a serious issue with the wallet crashing when pretty well any console command is input. where is the new wallet?

Feedback is welcome on how we can improve the chances for smaller coins to have a chance at being listed on an exchange without having to dump a ton of BTC into the pot.  We hope this seems fair to all and will be monitoring community response to this feature closely.

Respectfully, we need a new wallet ASAP! I solo mined about 10 blocks yesterday, and every time, they just sat there with zero confirms. When inputting any console commands, the wallet instantly crashes. Upon restart, the freshly mined blocks are gone. This is not the way to inspire miners to this coin.

I am pleading with you to fix this wallet issue! I am mining other coins, because I can't make any profit this way.

Please! I want to mine this. I think it stands a chance of succeeding. But not with the lack of interest that the current Dev team seems to have.

If this issue isn't addressed within the next 72 hours, I'm out. Everyone who agrees with this, please "+1" this post.

I like this coin good name, good website, the pools run great so far, the mac wallet works fine, sounds like problems with the windows wallet, not sure where the devs are, but should have a future
sort out the wallet issues,
get a bit of pr, find a cab driver who will accept a fare in taxicoin, take a photo create some press,
get a growing community to vote it onto an exchange,
more miners begin to mine,
more pools appear,
more press and taxi's accept fares,
create a software app and qr payment system,
coin future guaranteed....

everyone's expecting instant rewards from all the new coins, including the devs,
creating a good financial product is going to take a long time and a lot of effort from a lot of people,
none of these coins are doomed yet, there are great opportunities for those willing to help out and support a coin

Who is behind Taxi coin?


We are a group of like-minded people located in several countries around the world and have been growing the team and support since we launched. We are developers, producers, engineers, nerds, and citizens. We also all really love Crypto and Taxis!

Why did you create a coin specifically for taxis?


It seemed like a natural fit to begin a coin that could be focused on a market that has strong smartphone adoption in a lot of the world (i.e. apps like Hailo, Getacab, Uber). The idea of having a pay with Bitcoin button within those types of apps is very close (upon us it appears) and the extension of that is a specific coin which could be used in Taxi transportation.

Are you mostly targeting the US market? 


When it comes to Taxis, there are a few cities in the world that stand out and NYC is at the top of our list so we believe the coin will first begin to appear in NYC, London, possibly Seoul. Places where there is a thriving TAXI industry and high smartphone adoption. We are currently doing tests for POS system integration and app development to have TAXI COIN able to roll into other applications as easily as possible for the developers who want to use it. The wallet for Android and iOS is in beta, and we are excited to release it soon.

Why have 50% of the 56 million coins mined now and the rest over 12 years? 


We want the coins in circulation. Plain and simple. Miners who get in now will have a vested interest as we move forward with the apps and collaboration. We want the coins in circulation because our plans and hopes for the coin work best where there are lots of coins in use.Also, we felt that giving miners a chance to get this coin at such an accelerated pace would increase miner interest and hopefully help grow the community.

What exchanges do you plan to be on?

Coinedup, Cryptoaltex, Cryptsy eventually. We are really thrilled to get TAXI COIN onto an exchange soon. We were working with an exchange in beta, but it has yet to be stable enough to add TAXI. We are pursuing several leads and avenues to get TAXI listed, but we feel that before too long the exchanges will see that there is interest, potential, a serious dev team, and money to be made by listing the coin.

We did not create the coin to pump and dump, which is why we aren’t paying to have it listed somewhere and forgotten about. We believe that people will see the potential of this coin especially once the first mobile wallet, app integration, driver payment integration, and TAXI COIN store (trade TAXI into gift cards and items beyond crypto). We have plans for this coin that go way beyond a few days or weeks. With all the coins coming out now, we want TAXI to be different and are trying to demonstrate our intent with our actions and efforts. The future of TAXI is bright and who knows where it will lead but we know that we are going to work very hard at the TAXI COIN foundation to build the community and belief in this coin.

Do you intend to have as Dogecoin a PR machine?

We love Doge and think it is a great coin, but we aren’t necessarily pushing to mirror their approach. 50% of TAXICOINS will be mined in 8 months, During these 8 months the block reward is reduced 3 times, starting at 250, then 125, next 65, and finally 35. The remaining 50% of TAXICOINS will be mined in 12 years, with a block reward reduction every 350,000 blocks (1 year), starting at 20 and reducing by 25%.

SuperBlocks:

There will be superblocks 3 times a day for a 2 week period before and after every block reward reduction, and during the beginning of the coin. The closer to the halving block, the greater the superblock multiplier is, starting at 1x all the way to 18x, and conversely, the further the block halving gets the lesser the superblock multiplier.

I do think taxicoin should be a bit more popular than it is right now.

Taxi drivers/companies do share common systems amongst all of them - they even use same cars/colors despite being different companies.. TaxiCoin really has the potential to become a main system of payment that any small cab company can acquire and become part of it - without having to invest into expensive equipment for billing their customers. it's like bus driving/train driving where you can already use easier methods of billing (voucher cards, etc) which are essentially nothing else than taxicoin is.

The taxicoin p2pool does need some hashpower to get it started. It is working - I tested that. And because of the difficulty, we're going to need a couple of miners to get it going - and when it does - it's an awesome method of mining as it has the fun of solo mining without the risk of getting nothing due to pooled mining Wink

If you guys start using this pool, I will be doing a giveaway ( donation ) of taxicoins to all active miners, too - as a method of returning the fees that were kept in. (set at 2% - but due to the way it calculates it, it tends to be somewhere from 0.5% through 1.2% to 1.7%... so usually a lot lower than 2% and with the giveaway you'll pretty much regain all the fees if you stay with the pool)

1 - Explorer   - We are looking for someone to build an explorer for TAXI COIN.
2 - Marketing  - We are intersted in paying some people to help with promotion for TAXI COIN - link backs, twitter,
