Mt Gox?  what's that?   ahahaha, nope, I'm not talking about a high of $500, like at Mt Gox, I"m talking about a low of $500 so that you can begin your shopping spreeeee.

Presently the market is at the lowest btc point for the year, it stands to reason that if it continues to dip it's only to prepare for an oncoming rise.   Which is why I'm suggesting you ready your shopping carts.

I am saving like hell to buy btc@100 in btc-e or coinbase, that is why retail sales number is going down week after week.  :D

$100, really?

I can't see that happening, I will be out of cash before it reaches $350.

How do you arrive at $100?

I just tried to buy btc @$515 @ Coinbase but got this message:

"Note! We've exceeded our normal buy limits for today. If you would still like to purchase you will receive the market price of bitcoin on Friday Feb 28, 2014 at 04:39PM PST after your funds have arrived"

I would be buying in too soon if I still had the capital lying around

BTC is taking an respectful bow at the loss of a giant (MT. GOX) in the cryptocurrency industry.   As such prices are going down so you can buy up.

If Gox is bought out and the new owners intend to honor the old company's debts, this will be incredibly bullish.

Well best option is to not borrow at all :-)
I hope you will get lucky and price will hit 400 $ and a week after 1000 $

But there is a risk... and when you borrow money from a bank to invest into btc risk is higher :-)

Sell something or cut back on your lifestyle for a while. Getting a loan out is a bad idea.

please note, even though the numbers and market might make sense for that action, the MT Gox matter should have taught you that even if you do everything right you can lose all of your money; and before the MG fiasco you should also be aware that hackers are always a problem at every end of the transaction.  Borrowing funds to gamble with is a very complex bet, one that you really should look at many ways other than just left to right or top to bottom, like inside-out, backwards, and all-the-way-around.

Don't borrow money from the bank to buy btc for speculation

One can only hope, but the silence is deafening. I bought 50 goxcoins for next to nothing last night, so we will see. Don't worry; it's money I'm prepared to lose (and I bought real coins too :D)

Why would anyone throw away $100m+?

If I remember, Pokerstars covered a 150 million debt in player accounts when they acquired Full Tilt. So it could happen. However they got some technology, intellectual property, a salvageable brand. Not sure gox has any of that.

Hehe :)
so - they have a history that makes all BTC users know about MtGox :) (good adverrrt)
2. They have ready working exchange apps and api and stuff like that
3. MtGox has huige potential ... it is just lost for now...

I think you answered your own question by the end of your sentence.

The only reason to buy is if it makes sense, given all of the reasonable deals out there there is not common deal that makes sense.

That said, I would buy Mt Gox  for $1 if were able to lay out my purchase arrangement for the cryptocurrency world to accept, if the CC community accepted it I would take the deal.  In that deal, not one of the customers would lose any of the coin or fiat that were properly deposited to their account.  That type of win-win deal could work but is not normal by any sense.  But I know how to make it work.

Wow that was great.

I purchased at $508 and was hoping to get some at below $500 but Coinbase only went as low as $505 while I was tracking it.

did you get yours at bitstamp?  I saw that they had better buy rates every time there was a rate change.
