In Bitcoin Blockchain every new block hash is based on the previous one. To find a new block, a miner needs to complete a series of calculations using the search method to determine the right hash. The higher is the power of a miner, the higher is the amount of calculations per second it makes. BTC mining power is measured in hashes per second.
