Title: If I rent out bit mining hardware how many GH do I need?
Post by: jackx429 on February 25, 2014, 04:57:11 AM
So BFL is offering to let us rent out mining rigs for about 10$ per GH but I'm new and have no idea what that is. How many would I need to make a good profit?

That's terrible.

Antminer S1's are about $3.50/GH right now.

Please please stay away from anything Butterfly Labs related.

Take a look at Dogie's guide first:

Make note of the brown shit color grade it got.

GH/s = Gigahash per second.  More gigahash the merrier.  The lower the $ per GH/s the better.

$10/GH is a ripoff plain and simple.  You're better buying Bitcoins now and holding, they're affordable in price.

Like others have said, stay away from BFL. Not sure you'd find many people that support BFL.

Yeah if you want it for BTC mining then this is better ime to buy btc than mine them if you don't plant minning some other currency as you may.

Are you starting a service selling business? Go to the services section and ask for demands of renting!

Buy bitcoins direct, don't mine with cloud mining. Plain and simple.

Could I buy them and sell them later as if it were a stock market type thing? Where could I do that

I think that's https://cex.io/ (https://cex.io/)

Not sure the profitability vs renting a miner, but here's their profitability calculator:

Personally, I wouldn't consider it, but if you want to try it out for a few GH/s I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
