Title: Any ICO projects have experience buying e-mail lists?
Post by: supermario64 on August 10, 2018, 07:07:35 AM
Any ICO project managers, community managers, or e-mail folks have any experience buying lists from websites like https://cryptoemaillists.com/ (https://cryptoemaillists.com/)? They say they purchased from closed ICOs so they're confirmed buyers. Seems to me it's a clear path to ROI but have no idea how to think about this.

If I run a project, I'd avoid sending/spamming emails to people that don't even know me first, even though they're an investor. By doing that thing, you're basically spamming them or force them to look into your project. It's annoying to receive advertising emails like that.

Why don't you use another marketing strategy like using ads, listing on ICO review sites, and more importantly, write a decent whitepaper and run a website where you can post details about your project?

Why ICO projects need to do this. If they able manage a well sustainable whitepaper it’s will be the best way to marketing a ICO project and make it promising for client.

I observe a lot of spam in e-mail, it's better not to click on their links, you may encounter fraud.

I don’t know there are really exist this kind of project or not. But If there really has this kind project I will say it’s a very lame way to marketing.

I think sending emails to the investors looks very annoying to them. Rather than sending emails listing on ICO review sites, running a website or advertisements on crypto magazines are very good strategies

It would be a mess on a project buying mailing list, it is simply called spamming without giving another name. Boarding into people’s privacy without any permission is a clear red flag on the work it’s own. If I observed a project bought into mailing list, I would clearly stay far away from it, i’m Sorry to say. Though, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I personally will not buy into such project. Publicity and marketing will surely promote a good project enough with their prospects. Thanks

mailing them would be a wrong move and would result in ending up at the spams section of the account. it will be better not to take up this method.

The process of emails, even if they are to known people is a big no. It sort of gives the image of a fake coin or project and might be regarded as a spam.

This topic is quite contradictive in my opinion, because in one hand, people are giving their confirm to them to give an e-mails to third persons, but it is not 100% fair as well.

If people like one ICO project, this does not mean that they like another ICO project.

Do not send promotional emails, it will be deemed for spamming

The emailing process seems laborious and at the same time something that is not adopted by almost all of the people in the market. Maybe try to find some other viable methods.

This is one of the reasons why I do not want to participate in airdrops and pass KYC.

Many projects do in the likeness of this, that is, all the emails that were taken ever to participate in them give a mailing list!

Yes, they are legit, I know because I worked with ByteBall before and we were one of their clients. However, I don't really agree with the clear path to ROI path as spamming emails doesn't always ensure you to get enough investors, moreover, it creates a negative impression among the investors and a lot those emails are likely to be bounced or go straight to the spam folders.

It’s better to run ad campaigns through google rather than buying emails since most people doesn't bother to open up advertising mails and most of the time those emails end up in the spam folder which people rarely checks. If anyone sees your mail in the spam folder then it will surely make them doubt about your project and will get annoyed easily.

Not sure about the legitimacy but I wouldn't opt for Email marketing if I were you. Email marketing has become very cliche and people are getting bored of receiving thousands of email and at a point they stop even noticing them. Sometimes, people might even get agitated if you keep constantly mailing them. Rather, find a better way to do your marketing.

E mail is not a good idea. You can go for other marketing strategies or just write a decent white paper to post the detail of your project. Because if you go for email there is a high chance that your project will get spammed and other people will learn about your project, which won’t be a very good thing for you!

I think, email is such a not option for ICO project. These will nothing but increase scam. And if you are doing so, then you are basically welcoming other people to look into your projects which lead to security issue. Use other marketing strategy like ads or you can simply write a decent white paper to post your projects detail.

Does anyone read emails promoting ICOs? It doesn't work at all. I've seen somebody selling database of bitcointalk accs emails for 1 btc, but I doubt that it is efficient. Better buy adv on etherscan

Do not go for email. This will increase the scam level and other people will also learn about the project. There will be no privacy of your project. Use other marketing strategies or write a decent white paper to post the project details.

I really don’t prefer to send emails to the investors. It can make them annoyed. There are so many good strategies like running advertisement on crypto magazine, or making list of ICO reviews site etc.

Just simply avoid those ICO projects that require buying email lists. This could lead you to be the victim of scams. This year lots of ICO projects are turning out to be scams so stay aware of it.

I don't understand this, are you asking for where to buy emails for sensitization of a project?, and if so how does it seem to be a good way for a better Return on investment?

Allowing any ico project to get your email lists mean you are giving them access to your sensitive and identical information. This the way they would steal all your valuable info and will leave you by making fool.
