Title: The Destroy Mt.Gox Cosnpiracy
Post by: thelema93 on February 25, 2014, 06:42:54 AM
There is obviously a conspiracy to destroy the reputation of Mt. Gox and make everyone think they are going bust.
So far I have seen not a single shred of evidence to prove that they are insolvent. Only thousands of dumb ass troll posts and ridiculously fake documents like this new child-like nonsense being bandied around right now:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/209050732/MtGox-Situation-Crisis-Strategy-Draft (http://www.scribd.com/doc/209050732/MtGox-Situation-Crisis-Strategy-Draft)

Sorry but the chances of that being real are like 1 in a million. It is ludicrous and just goes to show that there really is a conspiracy or at least a whole bunch of people that hate Gox for whatever reason and they want everyone else to too.

I post some useful info saying that Gox are testing out their new Withdrawal Queue - as they promised on the 17th Feb and I am instantly told to 'fuck off' by some well meaning Gox-hater. Interesting.

So here it goes... get ready to hear the trolls call me names and repeat repeat repeat.... that Gox is dead. With no evidence at all - other than Mark is incompetent. Incompetent does not mean insolvent.

I am still waiting for the proof - show us some proof trolls - that Gox is insolvent or just SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!!!!

What kind of proof would you like?

Since nothing provided so far is proof-enough for you; what exactly are you looking for?

Can you prove that they are solvent? Can you meet every piece of evidence which points to insolvency with evidence to the contrary?

Nobody's going to give you proof; all you get is evidence. Make your own judgement but if you choose to omit evidence and form a conclusion based on emotion then your outward opinion isn't valuable. It's actually the inverse of valuable as it may be harmful...

If you actually want to have an intellectual debate about the likelihood that Gox is insolvent; I'll be happy to oblige. If you're only looking for somebody to agree with you because you seek a positive outcome, then I'm sorry.

I too am skeptical of that document - as it appears to be written from a 3rd party perspective, yet sports a mtgox logo on the front page. A very likely sign of a scam.

However..  the silence from mtgox is deafening,  and combined with reports of certain 'community members' having heard that mtgox is about to declare bankruptcy - I've switched my position on the overall state of MTGox.

(see http://recode.net/2014/02/24/the-mt-gox-bitcoin-exchange-has-disappeared/  -  although it too is short on real verification)

I made a bet that it was *ridiculous* that MTGox could lose enough to destroy them, due to their presumed use of cold-wallets - and so I bought a few goxcoins on bitcoinbuilder.

I now strongly suspect that was a mistake ;)

edit: interestingly - there still seems to be buying activity on bitcoinbuilder at a ratio of around 10 goxcoins per realcoin. Perhaps people are now taking a gamble on there being 'something' left over to carve up?

Any real proof of Gox's insolvency - please post it here.

What "proof" are you looking for?

Give an example of what you would consider to be irrefutable "proof"?

Yep, but what did you expect? This tendency of bitcoinkiddies to go absolutely nuts about every piece of good or bad news is what has made it such a volatile and profitable market so far. It's just bitcoinkiddies being bitcoinkiddies as usual.

You're mistaken; choosing not to engage in a debate for lack of supporting evidence doesn't constitute a personal attack.

Considering an opposing view to be a personal attack while ignoring the evidence contrary to your opinion is delusional.

You have an opportunity not to appear delusional; all you need to do is support your opinion with evidence, or refute the evidence presented before you.

And one serious and completely ignored bet offer. I now reiterate, at even better odds 1 in 100, not one in million. Are you up to it or you do not put your bitcoins where your words are? Can bet you only 0.01 BTC if high stakes was an issue.

I can't get what you really want to listen - what evidence do you need? I am surprised that you claim evidences from us but didn't give us any evidences that there is a conspiracy against MtGox.

There is still no proof. Just a fake ass Goxed-up article written by Mark to fool everyone.
I have no idea what is really going on. But i DO know that there is no proof of Gox being insolvent. Just rumours.

Mark want's out of the Bitcoin game... and his actions do nothing but amplify this. He has counted Gox's assets as 2,000 BTC and Liabilities of 744,408 due to ongoing "theft" that took place over a 5 year time span.

He is in a hole that is far too deep to climb out of, as there is no way in hell that he could ever recover that many coins. So he resorts to cheap tactics such as showing an invalid value of Bitcoin. It's in his best interest at this point to devalue the currency as much as he possibly can because for every $100 that BTC drops, he shaves $75M off from his total debt.

Mark is single handedly manipulating the price of Bitcoin... and will soon make a bunch of press releases to further tarnish the reputation of crypto by tying the demise of Gox to bitcoin itself
