Title: reCAPTCHAs
Post by: HarvyDent on August 10, 2018, 10:23:07 AM
Is anybody else having a really hard time doing the reCAPTCHAs to log in here? I guess it's got to do with the fact that I choose to use the TOR browser, but I have never had such a hard time. It has taken me up 10 minutes to log in here. The street signs seem almost impossible to get right. I always try to skip them when I can. Buses and roads are probably the easiest ones. I got fire hydrants once, which was very easy. Cars is usually easy, but it always leads me to think, "Is a pick-up truck a car?" Storefronts is pretty horrible too. There are always pictures from other countries. How the heck and I'm supposed to know what a storefront in China looks like?

Maybe somebody knows some tricks, so I don't waste so much time on these things?

I choose to use the TOR browser,
When you use the TOR browser or even any VPN then usually you will have this difficulties. Use another browser and make sure to check remember login (Always stay logged in). You will not need to login again. Of-course you want to make sure that your PC is protected and no one else (untrustworthy) is using the PC.

Let me know if you already know to use another browser (chrome or firefox etc) using the port your TOR browser have to keep you anonymous.

mdayonliner was right. I also experienced this recaptcha error in TOR browser whenever I have poor Internet connection and I end up browsing Bitcointalk in chrome in my android phone. A simple browser like chrome, Firefox, Internet explorer will fix the problem, if the anonymity matters, then just use a vpn with chrome. That's what I do and I'm not having trouble in recaptcha unless I missed to check one of the "Store in front" picture which is really hard to guess.

Also, there has been a lot of discussions about this issue before. You can find solutions by just searching through google or using search function of the forum.

Have you tried setting up the minutes to longer duration (say 12 hours) so that you have to login just once in a day ? I have not used TOR browser in past and thus cannot test this for you.

Thanks guys. I really do prefer to use TOR. I think about these other options though. Even if you use a VPN on other browsers, there is more data that goes to the different sites than via TOR. I have searched on other sites about reCAPTCHA issues and I didn't find anything too helpful. I'll have to take a look on the forum and see what I can find.

It took me forever to go through recaptcha because it kept suggesting to solve more and more puzzles  :'( It's way beyond annoying. Besides it does not load with some browsers that use strict site isolation feature.

Please get rid of this recaptcha, thanks. I'm sure there are far better options.

I don't think that Admin will get rid of the recaptcha. It's been here already since the beginning and even though some member are having trouble logging-in because of the recaptcha, it is still a great help. Like what I said above, if you're having trouble with it, you can just use a simple browser+VPN to log-in in Bitcointalk. Using TOR is nice but it I often end up having problem with the recaptcha.

If the problem still persist even though you're using different browser, then start to wonder if you're really a human  :)

By the way OP, I thought this thread was already locked? No more further discussions must be held in here so locking the thread is a must. Please click this button https://i.imgur.com/0ZvEVIB.png

For me, I still don't get any hassle on logging in even while using VPN. Because based on my experience, I'm just spending less than 5 mins. only everytime I log in here — from filling up the username and password up to solving captchas.

Note: disregarding the fact that I have an unstable internet connection sometimes.

@OP ~ if you are tired of this then do what sir mdayonliner said, that was very effective. That's what I always do and I guarantee that you will now be free from those annoying captchas for real. Here's a tip, aside from not allowing others to use your smartphone/computer, never ever also log in your account in a computer rental shop. That was a very risky move since you can't assure that there's no keylogger installed to those computers.

I've had numerous problems with the CAPTCHA in the past, particularly having unusually slow to load images, and puzzles that seemingly last forever. I've found a workaround to the former though, if after clicking the box you find that the image fades away slowly and isn't replaced almost immediately, then you have probably loaded a defective ReCAPTCHA session. As soon as you see this, simply reload the page and try the puzzle again, to date I haven't had the same issue occur twice in a row. Hope this helps a few people, I know how enraging the reCAPTCHA can be.

Cleaning of cookies may help, but it's only temporary solution.
Until now I found only one solution which works - when I have to solve ReCaptcha I always log out from my Google account. Now I don't have to struggle to solve Recaptcha anymore.

Sorry, but there is no way to avoid the captchas. as it say they are to prove you area human behind the computer, and i know it can be a pain in the ass, but they are here for a reason. The best way to avoid recaptcha is by the same system, if you do a good use of internet the same recaptcha system will skip and let you join with one click.

Ways to get through recaptcha login faster:

  • if it's a "skip" and not a "verify" blue button, skip the puzzle until you get "verify" button
  • fill your username and password first; if you try to solve recaptcha first and then fill in your login details, the recaptcha will provide you with infinite amount of puzzles and you'll be stuck

If your going through TOR your going to get hammered by google.  Look at it as a punishment for attempting to keep your privacy and not allowing google to spy on your activity.

If your in an IP range with someone spamming your going to be hit as well even though you own your IP address and its private.  Google will just nail the entire range of IP addresses.

If you have a clean IP address that Google likes you will simply have to hit the green check-mark and you will go right in.

This is the issue allowing Google to play cop.  You have one of the slimiest corporations around playing god.

One way you can get around the issue cheap especially if your spending lots of time getting screwed over on this is to buy a private Ip address.  You can get one for about a dollar a month and they allow you to refresh if you get a moron in your range spamming.  Should save you way more than .80 cents in time per month.

This has nothing to do with Bitcointalk (aside from them installing it).  Google is the one giving you shitty reCAPTCHAs

Sometimes I wonder if the captcha difficulty is based on the surfer's country.  I log in and out several times a day as I switch between alts, and it's quite rare for me to have problems, or even to need to pass the image test. When I do have a problem with the Captcha, it usually turns out to be a dropped WiFi connection.

I've face some issues when it's one of those "click until there are no more" ones, or the really blurry ones where it's so grainy. Or if it's the road one, I never get that on the first. or 2nd. or 3rd.That, or I solve the recaptcha and an ad pops up instead and I have to do it all over again.

Just logout from gmail, you'll be good to go. You'll pass the captchas.
