Title: Deposited to mtgox via OKpay Can i claim it? Post by: willope on February 25, 2014, 12:29:58 PM A few days ago i deposited all my money to my Mtgox account, supposing its just a teemporary problem of withdrawal and finally i make some profit(yes, i am greedy and so, thats not the question). Can I claim my money on OKpay saying that the site just dissapeared and I never had my money where i sent?

Post by: Cubic Earth on February 25, 2014, 03:14:03 PM FWIW, I sent a $250 wire to Mt. Gox first thing Monday morning morning (US EST), and it has already been credited back to my account. Citibank took $30 for the send and $30 for the receive, but the full $250 was credited back as an incoming wire. I took no action other than sending the wire.

For now I donīt know how will end this story but this answer reassures me a little bit. And can be a hope for some people who recently deposited via Okpay to MadGox. Companies have a contractual relationship. The decision to reverse the payments can not be done solely by OKPAY without violating our agreements. The bank is bigger, stronger, has more lawyers, more connections - they can force you into basically anything. So if a SEPA transfer is technically reversible or not is uninteresting, it's the end outcome that's interesting. Everything is tracked. Who owns an account, where's the money transferred. So it's rather easy to claw it back. Of course, there will always be some escape artists, but usually the bank gets their way. Banks tends to become quite pushy when someone owes them money. And you have absolutely nothing to say in that case, unless you're loaded as hell and can afford expensive lawyers, or if you are some 'big name'. I don't know the technicalities, but even if it's meant not to be technically reversible, the bank always have their way of having things done their way - trust me. |
