New litecoin pool its PPLNS pay per last N shares ...

resulting in much more even payout on small aswell as on big blocks for all users

Graphs: user rate, daily income, pool vs workers

A very clean website and knowledgeable administrator.

Very interested in hearing suggestions and requests and very fast responding to them, for example modifiying the web interface to show information where it is more convinient, or even adding new features.  The IRC bot is also very cool.

Thank you, g2x3k!

You should take this page http://pool-x.eu/support and put three super big fat screen shots.  The first showing "Files you need", the third one would just be a screen grab of someone mining from their computer, but the second one, the most important one, is to dumb down the instructions on how to mine for a Litecoin Pool from windows.  My interest in it is meh, but I did have more interest earlier on and I have seen other posts basically trying to get this information.

Until a proper GUI is made, would it hurt to attempt to teach Windows users something :(

i have written a bit on getting started page > http://pool-x.eu/gettingstarted

some screenshots might be a good idea tho, but i think it might mess more up then make that getting started page easier to understand

ED: ignore - site updated

Hi,

Did you already move over to .eu? If you did you should update your page.

Windows: extract litecoin-windows-miner-10-10-2011.zip into a folder end edit "MINE 2 THREADS.bat"
put in your worker details you command for starting minerd.exe shuld look sumthing like (depending on your machine):
minerd.exe --algo scrypt --url http://pool-x.it.cx:8337 --userpass user:password --threads 2
replace user and password with details from "My Workers" and --threads N with amount of cpu cores you wish to use

I could not log into it.cx and did not see an update on the changeover.

Just wanted to give a thumbs up to this pool.   It's been working very efficiently for me since it started.  Fast payouts, very transparent operation, no fixed fees and a responsive administrator (does that g2x3k ever sleep?).   It does not matter to most, but I think pool-x is the best looking pool out there too.  :-)

PS> I'm new to the Bitcoin world and decided to start with Litecoin as a way to learn more about the process by following the launch of a new coin.  So far it has been lots of fun.

I don't care much about the aesthetics.  I'm using Pool-X for everything else.   But I admit it looks good too.  :)

Oops, my inexperience is showing.. the UI of pool-x that I like is a result of using mmcfe (https://mining.mainframe.nl/index), as credited on the pool-x web site.   But I still do prefer the efficiency, fair payout system and fee structure aspects compared to the other pools out there.

just signed up as i find myself in need of a backup pool for my backup pool (long story..)

love the pirate theme  ;D fed to the sharks my first slave was ahaha
we shall see if in a few days this pool is good enough to be my primary pool, sure looks to be a good find!

ok seriously what magic did you guys weave into the gui miner  :o

its seriously DOUBLED my hash rate compared to the popular minerd.exe lol
just a damn shame i cant make it work on my netbook (doesnt support 64 bit..) and the x86 version kills the miner as soon as i click start for reasons unknown

development/support thread for the guiminer would be awesome  ;D

edit - just to point out this was a relevant post here, the miner is linked to from the pool as reccomended miner and is unnamed so i have nowhere else to ask this

mm not to be nitpicking or anything, just something to throw in the probably rather long to do list for you ;)

under the shockingly beautiful graph of the blocks stats page (the bit showing previous 100 blocks) the reward column shouldnt be showing "est LTC" and "LTC" on blocks which i put in no shares (because i just joined hehe)

very easy to fix and by no means a priority :) just something to polish the already very perfected pool site you have created

edit - just noticed on the pool stats page you have a previous 10 blocks table where the issue above is fixed, so its definitely a copy paste job lol ^_^

thx for mentioning wolf1234 ill get on that, and thx for positive feedback is apriciated

the minerd i put up there since seems like theres quite a few out there unaware of the optimized miners they are not done by me :)

they can be found here:
64bits http://www.wuala.com/jbw9/pub/Bitcoin/Tenebrix/miner/win/test/
32bits http://www.wuala.com/jbw9/pub/Bitcoin/Tenebrix/miner/win/

i choose the minerd-amdfam10-sse4a-64.exe and put into the gui folder renamed to minerd.exe to work with gui packed and uploaded so easy to get started with a optimal miner :)

for some reason the amdfam10 just works better even on intels in my experience

oh and thx for the note on the 32bit one it shuld be fixed

oh and big thx to matoking for the scrypt gui https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=47417.msg593822#msg593822

thats awesome, i shall give it a try shortly :)

i have an intel core 2 duo that used to get 1.9kh/s for each core/thread and its running at 4.0kh/s with that new miner  :o
gotta get that 0.5kh/s netbook up to a full 1.0 now  8)

ok downloaded the fixed version and it runs properly on the 32 bit netbook now, getting 0.55 average so its probably 0.1 higher on average than it was, not as amazing as the big core 2 duo boost but its an improvement  ;D

plus the gui is pretty nice, and im sure the system is more stable now (before i could not browse web pages, now its running faster and i can.. lol)
definately worthy of setting some donation %  ;)

happy to see more blockfinder bonus  ;D first time ive ever had my miners actually find a block and i got bonus for it! sweet

may seem like a silly question but is there no top 30 lifetime shares page? its really cool to see the unpaid/recent rounds contributors and all but im kinda curious who has been with the pool longest etc
of all the other pools i have been involved in its been fun to watch my lifetime shares gradually put me in the top 100 miners etc making me feel like i am an integral part of the pool "community" but with this one it takes me all day to reach the top 30 and then the round resets and im down to 57 or something again lol

just some food for thought  ;)

I just noticed that I didn't get any reward for Block 23,377. Was there an issue with this block? It shows as "confirmed" and I'm fairly sure I had valid shares around it (we're still on PPLNS with N=20k, right?) since I got paid for the blocks before and after at my usual rate.
Code:
23,377	Confirmed!	3phase 2011-11-02 02:11:17 AM	1,334	1 minute 28 seconds

Strange, I have the exact same result on that block, although looking closely, it appears that the cell was selected and may be stuck in editing? Notice how the usually crisp graphics have corrupted on that cell in the table.

Looking at the block in Block Explorer http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/t/A337Jb1WmW (http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/t/A337Jb1WmW) it looks normal, but check the jumps to input or output, strange error results. Maybe an invalid that we don't know about.

Yeah, I noticed that too, so I also checked in my account transactions: no credit for this block here either.
Maybe the code that notes whether a block is confirmed or not is bugged? I've never seen any block marked as unconfirmed yet.

And that right there ^^ is why this pool kicks ass. Responsible management, great response, and flawless integrity. And bonuses? Hands down my single best choice for ltc mining.

Now, back to whipping the slaves.

Indeed. I'm very glad this great pool is also PPLNS. The only thing that would make it (just a tiny bit) greater would be a (much) greater N. I like big Ns :D : kills the variability, allows your miners to go down for a short while without missing a block, etc.

i see your point clearly localhost on other hand also limits growth wich i rate higher atm to have pool staying at a decent % of network

it might be changed on longer term :)
i dnu if there shuld be a vote feel free to join irc and discuss :)

right now avg blocks are 19*** some shares so 25k = you have to be on pool for bit over a block then youre getting full propotinal payouts
so its close to prop retaining advantages of pplns

edit/update: right now have a shitty block and diff gone up so yea its prop on time raising the N :) its gonna be announce infront relative to change when its decieded

michaelmclees: heh it shuld be reason to improvement isnt the gui but the minerd.exe thats optimized better then the defaiult :), put together for pool´s users and starters :)

Hi g2x3k,

The `actual difficulty` graph on Block Stats page is not working now. Looks like it's currently calculated by diff*100, so I assume it's used for PoW diff 0.01. Your pool's PoW diff is not 0.01 right...?

Code:
mrx@SERVER:~$ ./diffcalc 0000ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
target = 0000ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
nBits = 0x1f00ffff
difficulty = 1.525878906e-05

That target comes from direct curl and reversed...

problem is pool using retarget and i havent been able to twist head around calcing yet and i just woke but your welcome to help :)

I mean the easy target the pool gives out to the miners. That target is much easier than current network target. I dunno how to call them...

Now that you mention it, what's supposed to be the difference between actual and estimated diff on the graph there? http://pool-x.eu/blocksAuth

The actual diff is not working, and what's est. diff?

localhost the estimated diff ? no suchh thing

theres effective, the red line: = effective diff
theres actual, the blue: the actual diff for each block

reason green isnt working is the pool uses
rpc.retarget.bits=16,

and i havent gotten head around how to make the formula to calc avg shares for a block on certain diff with retarget on

feel free to drop some working math lol :) i was sick yesterday i looked at before heading to bed with no luck.... gonna make my coffee and have a look during the day

Then it should be 65536*diff

65536 comes from 1/1.525878906e-05

currently it's 24963. Sounds reasonable

i got to that yesterday aswell

currently it's 24963. Sounds reasonable

well lets have a look ... i got that far yesterday aswell
first of i use  bcpow(2, 16) = 65536

so yea bcpow(2,16)*0.38087351 = 24963

reason i think was something wrong is if start to change the 16 nothing makes sense -.-

lowering the 16 lowers the result wich shuld higher since it would make the shares easier = more of them, but it lowers the result

maybe just me thinking to much over it but hey :) id wanted to be sure before put on page rather have a none working there then an inacurate i cant defend :)

its changed now does look kinda right guess we see bout that in longer run

hmm why does 16 change? it's set by you on the pushpoold

24693 means at current network difficulty and your set easy target, it tooks 24693 proof of works(shares) to solve a block. So when network diff. changes it changes as well.

While i support the idea of having an online 'support' facility i question the true need for it.
and more importantly question the implementation of it.. that little popup is about as annoying as adverts on web pages, and what with me mining and trying to browse the internet at the same time.. i became unable to use your website because the plugin trying to render the little popup kept hanging  ::) (for a better example, after 3 plugin crashes, it crashed my browser completely)

Is there no way to simply put a traditional link to it or something? im sure i wont be the only one foolish enough to keep trying to use my computer while its mining at maximum capacity lol

an update: even while not mining the pool stats page (which i have bookmarked..) is crashing 3/4 times i try to load it

other webpages are working fine so i doubt its anything on my end and its only just started behaving this way after you added that online support...

wasnt the plan to cause trouble with it heh :)

New litecoin pool its PPLNS pay per last N shares ...

PPLNS - Pay Per Last N Shares. Similar to proportional, but instead of looking at the number of shares in the round,
instead looks at the last N/100,000 shares, regardless of round boundaries.

So when you have been on long enough that the pool have generated N shares, you get full proportional payouts.
resulting in much more even payout on small aswell as on big blocks for all users

also there will be regular promo´s

see you at PooL-X (http://pool-x.eu/gettingstarted)

Features:
Graphs: user rate, daily income, pool vs workers
0% fee on income
0% tx on withdraws
blockexplorer links
PPLNS payout
Long-polling
Salted & hashed Passwords
Litecoind wallet Backed up, encrypted and insured

Hi!

How do you setup litecoind + pushpool + blkmond + mmcFE to make your pool with longpool enabled?!

I'm asking this because I'm trying to create my own pool but, the blkmond does not work with litecoin and, your pool says it is based on pushpool and have longpool enabled... So, I'm very curious about your setup...

Your pool is awesome! BTW...  :)

Best!
Thiago

Pass it an argument, not a method.
administrativo@ltcmining1:~$ ./litecoin/src/litecoind -pollpidfile=/tmp/pushpoold.pid

The daemon must also be off when you do this.

Hi!

Sorry to bother you with this again...

The blockcount is rising up but, I do no see any SIGUSR1 received at pushpoold...

 I'm running pushpool with: pushpoold -c ./server-mmcFE.json -D 2 -E -F

Code:
[2011-11-07 01:20:33.065136] Debug output enabled

 This is a normal behavior?!

Thank you again!

That's the only pushpool fork supporting Scrypt. I think the creator of PoolServerJ added experimental support for Scrypt in his latest release, as well.

Okay... I'm using it (ArtForz pushpool)... PoolServerJ does not support Litecoin / Scrypt yet...

Do you know why I do not see the message "PROOF OF WORK RESULT: true (yay!!!)" even when I do solo mining (minerd + Litecoin) or through pushpool?

When I connect to your pool, almost immediately I see that message coming from my minerd.

That's because I too small? Doing these tests...?!

I want to donate some Litecoins to you! Please, what is your Litecoin Address...

Thank you guys so much!! I really appreciate your help...

more news:
18:00 17-11-2011; updated litecoind to version 0.5.0.5. requires higher fees for transactions to be included in mined blocks, effectively reduced stales and given some nice blocks
11:00 13-11-2011; added new Net stats page, more graphs later for now theres a litecoin hashrate distribution chart

also updated the stats on irc bot a bit

18:00 22-11-2011; updated to litecoind v0.5.0.8
18:00 21-11-2011; new wallet manually confirmed some blocks, already fixed some issues with wallet getting spammed but it was getting slow so decieded to make a new
23:00 18-11-2011; updated to litecoind v0.5.0.6

also patched litecoind on pool to not list recieved, since theres no need for and you could effectively spam a wallet address on pool, wich would mess alot with pool cause the spam made it impossible to track immature blocks wich is all pool shuld do ... http://paste.pool-x.eu/9 .. not that its getting spammed now and i replace wallet when it start getting spammed, but its a vuln thats patched now ..

other usefull script for checking missing payout on blocks in mmcfe > http://paste.pool-x.eu/13
why would you do that when users havent dicovered they got cheated you ask ?.. why use my pool if you think i would cheat users .. ;) iam running this pool honestly ^^ and nothing against publishing everything :)

To g2x3k or whomever made that "Optimal (updated): minerd.exe + gui 64 bit or 32 bit" at the top of the page.  I'm on a computer that for whatever reason could never do pool mining, always gave some weird error and Litecoin would just shit out.  Solo mining has been fine, but the computer was not worth doing that.  Anyways, for whatever reason, it's working!    Not sure what the difference is, but thanks :)

Sure, I agree you shouldn't remove any info!
Maybe just find some CSS tricks to avoid the collisions (like allowing a line break in the data/time filed). Also, you could:
- replace "hours" with "h" "minutes" with "m" and "seconds" with "s" in round duration
- remove the 2 last digits from round reward (they seem to always be zeros)
- remove "0 confirms" when a block is marked as orphaned
I think just those would be enough to make it look good on my narrow left screen (yeah, I keep my browsers on my worst screen, I save the 21.5" 1080p for development ;)).

it comes after a while it counts the shares now and when the blocks it mine now gets confirmed you get rewards ... you have to wait for block you mining on to be confirmed ...

everything is back to normal now there wasnt much i could do about i was battleing it allday when i found the fix yesterday i was way to tired to start on mergeing it ive dont have much experience with that either
during my sleep coblee comited fixes to litecoind and i updated when i woke everything is back to normal now

News:
13:45 16-03-2012; update on the past 24hrs of problems, litecoin network been under spam attack wasnt much i could do about until now iam truely sorry and was pain in the ass going to bed/sleeping knowing it wasnt ok here,
woke to happy news that coblee had patched litecoind so i updated here right away, seems to have solved issues for now, again sorry for the downtime

also on a site note yesterday i moved to new wallet so that caused bit disturbence in it self ill confirm those blocks manually and transfer funds from old wallet... (update: they have been confirmed and paid...)

the good news, i have added 500LTC and set blockbonus to 2LTC so theres 2LTC for next 250 blockfinders

Is this thread dead?

I really like this pool but on block 20235 (pool count), LTC block 186,768 i got no payment.

My miners are 24/4 pointed at the pool.
Before the confirms the block said that I have about 4.5 LTC share.
This happens for the third time from last week.
What can be the issue?

i will look into it... seems after the diff increased so much tyhe estimates might be a bit off was bit fast made in first round anyway ill check share count on the block for you get back to you tho :)

Now after the diff has gone down from 10 to 8, the pool seem to give even less...
At ~800khash, I've got ~4.5LTC per block, now the pool gives me estimate about 2.5LTC...

Reward from block has nothing to do with difficulty, it is what percent of the total mining hash rate you have in comparison to everyone else on the pool at that moment. :)

But what is the problem with blocks you had shares in, don't pay nothing?

For instance recent blocks 192656 and 192693 paid nothing for me.
I'm sure I had shares in them.

EDIT: I'm the block finder of 193374 but i got no payment for the block. This becomes absurd!

thx for username it really helped now i could look stuff up
it did pay you ... maybe not immidiatly when confirmed ... happens for some blocks but theres background scripts running takeing care of it so the payment was just few hrs delayed "heavy scripts cant run too often"

1618196 /   2012-08-19 00:00:17 / Credit / Block# 192656 / 3.18446 LTC
1618066 /   2012-08-19 00:00:15 /   Credit / Block# 192693 / 3.281416 LTC
1620351 / 2012-08-20 00:00:11 / Credit / Block# 193374 / 3.334798 LTC

as far as i know all other mmcfe pools havent fixed this other then pool-x .... my temp fix: http://pastie.org/private/6tgzovxpto1mmw1otq3oa

those are the blocks you claim not to have gotten credits for ... but you have the payment was delayed sorry bout that still working on a fix for it

There was  a bunch of internet users that would only communicate with each other in a digital tongue, which consisted of substituting as many letters as possible with numbers. Hack became h4x and boot became b007 and so on and so forth. The language was officially dubbed, '1337 5p34k' or 'elite speak' because only elite hackers could decode it. Speakers of the language were known as '1337(leet)' and soon anytime someone became good at something they were called '1337' so the number sticks around

btw i am looking into it :)

EDiT: fixed atleast two causeing bugs ... and paid out the blocks script found ... unfortunately theres been some blocks lately thats been spread using a wrong lastnshares wich has been fixed and the checking script failed to run ... shuld be fixed now ...

ive moved my mining op to https://lc.ozco.in/, but it's not very good, I had much better connectivity with pool-x. It sucks that it's not working and there is no backup plan...

No, the wallet got the blocks until the exact moment of crash, only need to download 120 blocks (a couple of minutes) to update, and it seems like they have already done, just a momment after site goes up all blocks appears as orphaned and now appear as confirmed, so must be executed some script that communicate with litecoind and update number of confirms.

To my knowledge of mmcfe, unless g2x3k has modified, the same scripts that updates the corfirms makes de payment, so can you check if you have credited until block 235150.

I don't recommend to withdraw any ltc until they confirm all work correctly,if litecoind client is not working correctly the withdraw  can appears  in balance but not made the real tx. SO WAIT UNTIL OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION THAT ALL IS OK.

Regards

Don't want to burst a bubble, but I keep getting "HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server" whenever I try to use Stratum. I am using cpuminer 2.3.1 on Win7. The flags that I am using are "minerd.exe --algo scrypt --url mine.pool-x.eu:9000 --userpass [userfiller].[workerfiller]:x --quiet". What have I missed?

Edit: Realized that pooler is still working on Stratum support. cpuminer does not auto dectect Stratum. I needed to put in "stratum+tcp://mine.pool-x.eu:9000" as my url. Works fine now. Thank you g2x3k!

Port 9000 is blocked by the firewall. 8000 works great.

g2x3k, let me know your opinion about miners at pool-x.eu.
I sent to you a personal message about the loss of the password and got no response since July 11. You have no time to answer, aren't you?

Last two or three days videocards stop working many times a day on this pool. Cgminer 3.3.1 says "Stratum mine.pool-x.eu:9000 not responding". What is wrong? I think that problem with pool because asic works well on this computer.

Hi,

I restarted recently to mine LTC on Pool-x.eu . I had a wallet on wallet.it.cx, but as the website is down, I created another one locally. Hopefully the old one was empty.

Anyway, when I try to change my payment address on Pool-x, I get the message "Authorization Pin is Invalid!"... but my pin seems to be valid: when I logout and click on the forgot password link, I write the same pin code, and I receive an email with a new password... so, what can I do ?

Hello,

trying to move out my LTC from pool-x but it fails with the following error.

Code:
"Fatal error: Uncaught BitcoinClientException: [0]: Connect error: Connection refused (111) thrown in on line 0"

Also, if I click about and try to navigate to any of the submenus it also gives me an error.
Code:
"WELCOME, FATAL ERROR: UNCAUGHT BITCOINCLIENTEXCEPTION: [0]: CONNECT ERROR: CONNECTION REFUSED (111) THROWN IN ON LINE 0"

What is up?
