GPU ? CPU ? mining hardware ?????? Title: Re: Which algo uses most electricity? Post by: adaseb on August 12, 2018, 05:29:06 PM The most power hog was actually Scrypt (Litecoin) which we don't mine with GPUs anymore. But with a R9 280X, it used about 350 Watts from the wall.
Also if you tried dual-mining ETH + DCR with the R9 280X on max intensity it could use close to 350 Watts with Claymore dual-miner. ETH and ZEC is about in 2nd place uses like 200 Watts for the R9 280X XMR is the least amount of power, only like 130 Watts for a R9 280X Same with the RX series. The ETH uses the most power. ZEC about the same. XMR is the most power efficent. Hence the reason why the profitability is going down for XMR since people with expensive power are mining it now. |
