I think you're not wrong. This coin nothing to do with ripple, clearly. If it's XRP, it should use XRP as platform instead of ethereum and ERC-20. Also that was one of the dev's goals, so that XRPT is easy to get names among crypto users. This makes no difference from an airdrop project.
