But when will the revolution reach the medium of exchange sector?

When will a cryptocurrency replace FIAT?

What is needed in order for that to happen? some ppl say LN (lightning network) will help, and that the issue is scalability.

I think it is in the monetary system. people will prefer to HODL the BTC, and use the USD to buy stuff.

Maybe EOS and Stellar have started to overtake Ethereum, when the price of ethereum declined, the two numbers increased in popularity. maybe he will become the next successful coin.

I think Ethereum is going to be the next decentralized altcoin. Ethereum is in the second place in popularity after bitcoin. So, it may be Ethereum.

I agree with you. Bitcoin is going to be next digital gold. I see a lot potential that very soon cryptocurrency will dominate big portion of world economy as world is trying to involve into it 

I think EOS will be the next one. It approach seems to be very positive. It already increase its popularity and I believe it will be successful very soon.

There is no coin in existing market can do that. Maybe in the future there new coin can do that.

I don’t think it will be possible to replace FIAT by cryptocurrency because to do that the dominating countries of world must accept this currency. And they won’t do that for security reasons

I believe that revolution is not too far. It will happen soon as many governments are taking crypto very seriously and trying to control the market by imposing various regulations. It means they are working passively

Bethereum,which is ethereum based, is one of the most promising altcoin now a days. But there are other altcoins are available in the market. You can check them. They’re good also.

I think replacing the fiat currency will be quite difficult. Because fiat money is accepted by everyone. But before using cryptocurrency we should have some knowledge about it. But there are many people who are not interested about it.

No one can say when a cryptocurrency will replace FIAT. Because mining of bitcoin is not an easy matter. So, the miners need to get the profit.

as money, i.e. means of exchange, bitcoin and in General cryptocurrency does not show itself well. Fiat money is more stable and therefore suitable for the means of exchange. their value can be determined easily and every day. cryptocurrencies have no stability.

In my opinion the possibility of NEO being the exchange of medium is good. NEO has the capability to handle around 10k transaction/second which is huge. People might be interested NEO as it has robust technology.

I am sure that in the next 10-20 years, crypto will not be able to replace Fiat money. Cryptocurrency, in the near future, will begin to be accepted for payment on a par with fiat, but it will be only in large cities with developed infrastructure.

Bitcoin can be the major currency only if it becomes more stable than ever. The volatility characteristic reduces the chance of replacing fiat money. Besides bitcoin i have great hope on Ethereum.

Yeah definitely bitcoin will become the digital gold. And cryptocurrency is really dominating the world economy and the whole world actually trying to involve I must say as it has really good potential.

No decentralized cryptocurrency can ever replace FIAT because of their volatility. Their worth keep changing in minutes, or seconds sometimes. And that would not be an ideal scenario for very big economical exchanges between countries. The value of goods bought using the currency can either go down or go up according to the movement of the currency used for it, and in case it is a cryptocurrency, it can either boost up the economy of the country or bring it down in a blink of an eye. So I don't think it would really work, as long as they (cryptocurrencies) keep changing values, which is their nature and unchangeable, I guess.

I think that cryptocurrency is a convenient means of payment. It does not need to be converted, it can be paid for goods and services quickly and conveniently (if the problem with the speed of Bitcoin and Eth transactions is solved). The popularization of cryptocurrency is spreading with great speed. So the time when crypto will become a universal currency is very close, 10-15 years.

There is no permanent in this world except change. People always have the mentality to change and adapt to the environment and it usual for us to adapt crypto coin in substitution with the fiat currency. But there are always a limit with this and I think it will become hard for bitcoin to be a medium of exchange when there is a banning of government.

FIAT can never be replaced by crypto currency. Because if this going to happen then all the countries should have to accept this currency but which is not possible as some dominating countries already banned it.

I think that in the next 5 years, crypto will be used alongside with fiat money, but in small tourist shops or when paying for tourist services. However, while dollar and euro will remain at their main positions in the world.

you are right, Bitcoin is great. it is more secure and profitable. it is more popular in crypto market. if their is gone to a reveliation ETH should take this place. people should HODL the Bitcoin and they use USD.

 I can always say that Ethereum is having a potential to change Bitcoin in the throne of cryptocurrency, but but right now I believe that Ethereum is really far from being that, maybe next 2 years.

I dont think cryptocurrency will replace FIAT . Remember that there is still alot of people that dont use internet or any other new technology like smartphones and stuff like that . Maybe it will be like alternative to FIAT , but not to replace it ;) Its too early for that . And elite would not let to replace FIAT so Easily lol

bitcoin is now one of the top trustable coin in cryptomarket. bitcoin used the blockchain technology and there are some coins come to market which used lighting network to defeat the bitcoin. hopefully they can. let's see what happened.

I don't think crypto will ever replace fiat and cash.
The more realistic scenario is that they both exist.

The thing is, btc will never be able to be used as a global currency.
It is too slow and expensive.
why would someone use btc to pay for something when it costs $5 - $20 dollars for transactions and can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple hours to go through?

If a crypto does get used like cash for normal, everyday purchases, it won't be any of the old blockchains.
It will be the blockchain 3.0 projects like nano, byteball, or iota.

These coins are free, fast, and scalable.
There's no way people will use other things when there are better options to be had.
but don't take my word for it, try it out, once you use nano you will never go back to a normal blockchain again.

Most of the altcoin are being popular in crypto market. Investors are trying to find the potential one. On the other hand Bitcoin is a popular coin for many years. I hope , within some years people will accept crypto as their main currency.

Stellar and EOS both have a very good chance to become the next decentralized altcoin. From this two stellar have the advantage. I think soon both of this are catch the attention.

Since some altcoins have started to overtake the highest positioned coin and increased in popularity. It is not so far when bitcoin or even altcoin will replace FIAT. And very soon decentralized altcoin might be a medium of exchanged.

There will be a timer when BTC will take the place of FIAT currency but I doubt any other altcoin will take over BTC. But if that happens, that will be LTC, ETH, EOS or the coin which are in the top 10 now in coinmarketcap, as I assume.

I'm not sure the cryptocurrency will replace fiat currency within the next decade, maybe even more or maybe it won't happen. the fact is that until now we still need fiat currencies as traditional and banking transactions. and the main problem is that each country has a fiat currency that has been protected by law

The decline also marked the first time that Ether's price had fallen below its valuation for one year. And we don't know the position of Eth coin will remain safe or not.

Problem with the altcoin is that they dont have the capacity to sustain the long term journey and they also dont get much attention. When we have something in mind then we should always research the market and see what is the thing which people love the most? I guess bitcoin is the face of crypto currency and thats why if we want medium or exchanger system then it will be successful only via the bitcoin!

It is pretty obvious that Ethereum woul be the next decentralized Altcoin that might be a nedium of exchange because of it's outstanding performance. Some people say EOS, Litecoin or for me it could possibly be Dash but there a lot of coins out there to compete each other so watchout. I don't think central banks allow crypto to dominate fiat money. Yeah Hold BTC as an investment and fiat for our daily needs.

I don't think Bitcoin needs to replace fiat money. I believe Bitcoin and Fiat money can run side by side for a better economic system. Bitcoin is an asset and it is the future to the digital transaction system.

The market was shocked to see EOS doing this good. Even Stellar Lumens is doing good too. Chances are high that these two altcoins till overthrow ETH.

There are NEM which is a good coin. But there are two coins in particular; EOS and Stellar Lumens, these two are doing very good in the market and the majority of the people are having their faiths in them.

There are news and we have seen that Stellar Lumens is doing exceptionally good in the market and it even overcame ETH.

Zilliqa and EOS are doing really good among other Altcoins in the market. Zilliqa has come up with sharding technology which is being widely appreciated by the investors. However, I don't think cryptos will ever replace fiat currency, it might become a substitute of fiat like mastercard and visa card. But without mass adoption, it would be very hard reach the popularity of fiat.

LTC will always considered as one of the oldest and profitable ALTcoins out there in the market. Even after the recent market conditions, it hasn't showed a sign of going down as of yet. Another good coin for the long run can be ETC. Though people consider all other forks as shit coin but ETF has done quite a good task as a fork and also recently got listed in Coinbase.

NEO is a good coin to hold due to its popularity and consistent performance in the market for a long time. A lot of ICOs are also based on NEO tokens which means it will be hard for their market to crash easily which still makes them a strong contender in market. Stellar is also doing good right now, you can check it out.

If you think that crypto currency will replace the fiat over the night then this is not true and this is not gonna happen in shorter period time. It will take time to grow in the customer's mind first. Only fewer people in this entire world is using crypto currency so once it will be known to each every people it will start to replace the fiat.

In the event that you imagine that digital money will supplant the fiat throughout the night then this isn't valid and this isn't going to occur in shorter period time. It will require investment to develop in the client's mind first. next it could be stellar and Eos.

Maybe it will replace fiat in the future, but that will take time. Because many people from the different country are not aware of this crypto currency still now. And in my opinion Stellar has a good potential because of IBM.
