Title: Radeon 3xx0 Series Support?
Post by: freeqaz on March 24, 2011, 12:06:47 PM
Hey guys, I've got a laptop with a Mobility Radeon HD3650 and I can't get it to work with Bitcoin. The card works great with Pyrit, so I know the card has OpenCL support via Stream. Just curious as to what this is. I've been using poclbm. Should I try Diablo or something?

Also, if I were to buy a GPU for my desktop. What would be the best card for under 100$?

Aloha,

HD3650 don't support openCL but they do support Stream, odds are your Pyrit is going into Stream mode and not open CL.

The entire 3xxx family has no OpenCL support, sadly the SDK tends to report it as a valid device, until you try to go use it.

Since you're limiting yourself to $100, your best option I guess is to try to get a 5830 but you would be better off trying to come up with the difference and getting yourself into a 5850+.

What's the performance boost going from a 5770 to a 5830, and from a 5830 to a 5850?
