Time flies quickly in BITCOIN-LAND.

Next year we will be in the $3000 to $7000 range saying the same thing.

That's definitely possible, I have my fingers crossed

No it won't.

The chance that it will be 30,
 is greater though...

Next year this time Bitcoin could just as easily be at $30 as at $3000.

Nobody on this message board, I don't care if they are Warren Buffett or Jimmy Buffett, knows what the price of Bitcoin will be next year. Least of all people on this message board!

This is very true. I am just a little surprised at the shriekers out there. I could tell a few months into Bitcoining that most of the exchanges don't take Bitcoin seriously enough to protect the buyers and sellers. Let's hope this MtGox is a wake up call to the remaining exchanges, this is no game!

IN TWO YEARS THERE WILL BE NO OTHER CURRENCIES. /jk

But yeah, I think wider adoption + increased public awareness = better long term viability and likely increase in price

I remembered before 1 year I sold 10 BTC for $80 each and I definitely regret for what I've done but I was desperate for money because I needed them so much but luckily for now I am fine and I have some BTC that I am going to keep no matter what will be whether I am going to lose them or some stuff like that. I'll be waiting for the right moment.

Taking in consideration that DOPE coin is already accepted in Spain and Italy and it launched only a few weeks ago i think that in 5 years we will have only crypto! link here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=467641.0

BTC will just be the rich people coin - around 50.000$ each BTC
DOPE coin for weed&bongs
TAXI coin for taxi's
MINT for ecologists
ORCA for Orcas
PENG for penguins
KARMA for all the good people (I don't think it will have any value but it will have a lot of impact when you meet a new person and he sees you have a lot of karma because that can mean only one thing you are a good person and he will trust you even if he is a complete stranger to you)

and so on

That been said in a few years we will have cryptos for anything out there! and slowly everyone will abandon fiat!
we will exchange all the other coins for BTC because we all want to be rich!

And I will close with a song!

Lol, you wish!   I'm sure there will be several flash crashes throughout the year, but the chances of settling down at $30 is almost non-existent (knock on wood).

If bitcoin hits 50k, then the definition of "rich" is going to have to be redefined.   Because at 50k per coin, that would make a lot of instant millionaires.

But.... That will be after a crash from $10K, so a lot of people will be saying bitcoin is dead. Circle of life.  :)

What are you talking about? Bitcoin has been dead for a long time... its main platform (Silkroad) has been shut down making it useless, its CEO (Charlie Schrem) has been arrested, and its central bank (MtGox) is now gone. Bitcoin is officially offline according to reliable sources.

+1 for polarisation using two well-known Buffetts.

Yeah, it's all speculation. The trouble is that Bitcoin wealth distribution is following a Zipfian path, so few people control a massive chunk of the current minted Bitcoin c. 12.45 million coins at the time of writing. They can literally control the trade price, assuming the current state of affairs. They could maintain scarcity, or dump hard.

Irrespective of Bitcoin's $ value, Bitcoin as a protocol is awesome!

Someone with $1B can know the price won't be $30 any more.  ::)

On this day last year i hadn't heard of Bitcoin. This day i have read online articles, a physical newspaper article (yep, actually held it in my hands) and talked to people about Bitcoin.

But when i do talk to people about Bitcoin, i only get one of two different responses - (1) Huh, what is Bitcoin; or (2) oh Bitcoin, it's too late to get into bitcoin.

I don't like either of those two responses that are out there amongst the regular Joes  :(

It's never too late to get into Bitcoin.

Yeah, it's never late but you need to catch the right time to get into Bitcoin, like if you want to invest ...
