Title: Have you recommended Bitcoin to your friends or family?
Post by: SilkDao on August 14, 2018, 01:59:11 AM
Recently, I introduced Bitcoin to my friends. Some friends accepted it with pleasure, but some told me that Bitcoin is a bubble.
So, I wanna know whether you have ever  recommended Bitcoin to your friends or family?

Yes i have, but to my main family and close friends only.

I said "there is a digital currency and will be bigger in millenial era right now. Because almost everything is going to be digital, conventional currencies will be left behind.
So now its good chance to join or invest in Bitcoin because it has great future.
And if you want to study, you can study while you can earn money from doing some campaign or bounty in here."
Then they are very interested.  ;D

I won't because crypto market is full of risks and if they join this market and lose funds, they will blame me. I don't want to become a sinner.

Nope. Never "recommended" bitcoin to my family and I will never will(if you're talking about me recommending them to invest in it). I only mentioned it once and explained it's advantages over fiat and that's pretty much it. No need to shove bitcoin down their throats. If they're interested enough, they're going to look it up online.

I told my family and friends about bitcoin but I didn't encouraged them to invest to bitcoin again. I advised them to get somehow even a very small fraction of it.

But because after few days they showed no interest on it, I stopped telling, convincing and mentioning bitcoin to anyone.

We do have the appetite to that this very risky market but we can't tell if the person we're talking is ready to do whether they are our friends or relatives.

No, when I used Bitcoin for the first time, I was recommended it to my friends, but now I would rather know about it after it is approved as a currency in my country.

One of the most important advantages of Bitcoin is the speed, low fees, and international transactions. All these features are not what my family and friends are looking for.
So the situation is different from one person to another but I do not advise you to tell them about Bitcoin as an investment or quick profit.

Also, you must have convincing reasons for decentralization, mining, who controls it, why its price high, and some technical aspects before recommended.

I won't recommend such things to friends and relatives. This market is extremely volatile and losing a decent amount of money is easy here. Guess who will be to blame if this happens?

I'm the only one enthusiastic about bitcoin here at work and my colleagues seem uninterested at the moment which I believe is also my fault of telling them the roller coaster ride I am in.

I will talk about cryptocurrencies in my usual gatherings with my friends, but I didn't encourage them to participate in the investment because I know it is full of danger!

No, because i don't want to get heat when they invest and price will go down. I don't need trouble and to be blamed.
Im talking purely about it on something new/interesting basis.

I won't tell anyone what they should do with their money. They will hate me in the first place if they loose.

I have mentioned it briefly to my wife, but she is not particularly interested in it at this point. I think she probably thinks of it as just a little hobby of mine (and she is probably right in that regard). I have told her that I need to sit her down and show her how to access my hodlings in the event that something should happen to me. There isn't much there at this point, but who knows what it might be worth in another 20 years? My goal is to slowly accumulate what I can and hopefully have it increase in value and usefulness as more and more mainstream acceptance takes place in the coming years. But most of my investing will probably come from a little bit here or there rather than any large individual influxes of cash.

Hey yes I had recommended bitcoins to my family and friends, I had recommended it when prices were at 1k and some sold for good profits, some hodl it yet. Like you have experienced some will accept it with open hands, and some will be pure skeptics. There is a way to win over those skeptics, show them initial prices, examples of people earnings, and best of all lend them dollars in bitcoins so they can experience it first hand.

We must promote cryptocurrencies. The more they are popular, the better. It will have an impact on the market and this is important. Talking about it with people we know is easier. Moreover, we must not stock talking only about the profit, but the whole system. The blockchain technology has a lot of advantages. People should be aware of that and this could be useful to them. Do not hesitate to promote Bitcoin to people or to explain to them how to earn with it. The more people are in it, the more we can all earn.

You should always explain the risks associated with Bitcoin investment to your family and friends, before they invest in a high risk investment like Crypto currencies. I was lucky enough that my family and friends approached me for Bitcoin investment advice, so I did not have to approach them.

I am not saying that you should change your strategy with anyone else, outside of your circle of friends and family, but you risk a lot more, if you give bad advice to people in your inner circle of family and friends.

Always tell them that Bitcoin and Crypto currency investments are still experimental and a high risk investment.  ;)

I talked to my family and my good friends about the cryptocurrency, but I didn't recommend them to invest.
I just told them that this is a new type of investment.

You can recommend to buy btc when the price is low (for example, now I think is a good time to buy) and if the price goes up you become a hero. On the other hand if the price falls even lower they will hate you until the end of life.

I actually have never personally recommended it to anyone as a way of investment, but they all know that I'm involved in it and they don't really have a negative mindset about it since they understand how good the technology of Bitcoin is.
People mostly approach me to learn a few things about it which they think I know because I have been using it for a while now, and I tell them whatever I know.

I introduced it first to my friends, although I know the only facts or fiction that they knew about bitcoin is just scam.  Some of my friends are just laughing about it, talking trash and don't seem to believe in the things I am saying.  You could really never pleased everyone as they say.  As for my family, of course they are 100% supportive with my point of views regarding cryptocurrencies specially bitcoin.

I haven’t recommended Bitcoin, but I surely have recommended smaller and newer altcoins, which would need a relatively small investment, can grow in price fast but if they disappear, that would not do any big harm to their personal budgets

No, I won't recommend bitcoin to my family or friends as bitcoin is too risky but i'll explain to them about what you can do to bitcoin and it's advantages and disadvantages. So, it's up to my family or friends if they want to be in cryptoindustry or not.

Well, while explaining Bitcoin to a layman having absolutely no idea about it is usually influenced by the fake media stories and they make their opinions keeping claims made by media. Yes, I have explained Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is to my family members (some of them) because I think it is necessary to have at least two family members having information about crypto because it will help them to recover our funds in case of our absence or inability to do the same.

First to family as you need to survive with them for long time ;D ;D. Obviously it is the most difficult task to handle. Convincing them is the hardest part but still i encourage them to invest to make their lives better as we are early birds in this field & knowing the importance of this great concept. At the inception of BITCOIN no one wants to believe such a concept considering it as a worthless investment method. Whistlers are still stands on same thought & someone who tried what this investment is, are having smart amount of money with smart portfolio. Introduce this opportunity as a long term investment & world is going to be adopted Blockchain technology soon. Don't show them a big show & let them be surprise with result.

I think at the moment Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in general are too new and volatile to confidently recommend to friends or family. I do believe Bitcoin still has a lot potential and could become a global currency one day but it's just too early and i wouldn't want to see them incur a loss should things turn out for the worse.
