From Dec 2013 to Jan 2015 BTC went from 1000 to 200 USD and it took 3 years to go up to 20000. Also most of the alts will dump even more than BTC before eventually come back up. They're just market cycles, blockchain tech is still fine and will be used now and in the future.

I think not many coins and tokens will recover after such a drop. And those that remain, they will take their place in the already growing market.

As the bear market continues, there is a growing recognition of the true value of BTC.
I think the real bull market is not far off, because when people realize that BTC is valuable, then it will push the price of BTC up.

Most altcoins are scams and are only propped up by scammers that have an interest in keeping the price high before they dump. They serve 0 purpose at all. It's a big bubble. The question is, did the bubble peak already and we'll go back to %80 BTC domination as it should be, or it didn't even begun yet?

By comparison to the dotcom bubble, it shouldn't have begun yet, so I believe altcoins will see another rise. The altcoin bubble will probably peak at a couple trillion dollars when BTC is past $100,000++ and everyone is making mad money on shitcoins.

At that point it will be similar to the dotcom bubble: That is, a massive purge of shitcoins, followed by a bear market of a year or two, then BTC will start its rise to $1,000,000, similarly to Amazon's all time graph, look what happened years later after the dotcom bubble. 99% of altcoins will stagnate to 0.

Why is BTG in your list of alts? Forks of btc are nothing but scams similar to the ICO's. They don't have any serious purpose/real purpose (excluding BCH) and are simply created for the splitting up of chain by the disagreement of consensus with the main chain. There has been a lot of backlash,hacks,shit forks with the btc which resulted in the drowning of price in the btc from 20k to 6k. Most probably Eth doesn't have a cap sooner or later and moreover it is being used only as a fuel for powering the ICO's, eth raising in price higher than $1000 will be rare based on my assumption. Other promising alts like LTC, monero, Dash follow the btc prices.

If a coin of an ICO doesn't serve a purpose, they would never survive in the market which is happening now. There has been a lot of scam startup blockchain projects which had useless tokens which are disappearing now in this bear market. Only the promising and the one serving a real purpose will work and withstand the market and flourish in the later part of the next year. With btc dominance increases slightly over the days passes by, this indicates that the Scam ICO tokens are lost forever and will return back to the market.

It looks like the market is testing us. Lots of people have quit the game now. It is very sad to see the market actually. All the coins are now at a very low price.

this is just a cycle of ups and downs that are common in cryptocurrency, I've read a lot about this. be mindful, and focus on continuing your plan forward.

I wish that there could actually be an accurate answer to this. Nobody knows for sure what is happening. Many say that there is a correction ongoing in the system. others say this is a test of faith and patience, some others can't even think of anything, and all they just want is to see greens once more on the streets. Its quite normal when it comes to crypto market. It dumps heavily and then bounce back.

not all the altcoins would recover. a lot of them will die and many will continue to struggle to gain back half of what they lost while they are being replaced by other altcoins that get pumped instead of them.

Remember we are in a bear market cycle. It is natural that price are falling in bear market and since we are in cryptocurrency market, price can decrease by 90% or more. If you look into the price history of bitcoin or ethereum. You can confirm that 90% decrease in price has already happened in the past.

Think crypto like a bow, the more you pull the string the faster the arrow is going to go. I'am praying every day for bitcoin to go below $1k again. I know It is not going to happen though I do my best. Next time we do a bull run bitcoin's price will be increasing by $10k in a day.

Yes, the situation is sad, but do not panic. For the cryptocurrency market, this is quite normal. It can fall very low, but it can also rise very high. So we just have to wait for better times.

The problem is that people don't see a lot of green and there is no incentive for them to buy bitcoin or other alts out there. Bitcoin ETF got denied again... Extreme market volatility is being experienced this year by the whole crypto industry. Although volatility is in nature of cryptos, this one is indeed scary. Most of the cryptos' price last year are continuously increasing but the opposite happened this year. Nothing we've seen before in my honest opinion. With the way the market saw the increase in prices of BTC and alts, this current corrections was inevitable. For me, I think this is the best time to bag some of these good coins that were beyond reach. Another bull run will see most these good coins seeing new ATHs.

After the top there cant be another top. I mean they cant be two. There is just one. and that mean it is just a moment of time. You can say one day although is not really whole day.   Then the rest of the time price is under that top until new top gets reached. Last time took like 4 years. Now we are only 7 months after last top.  What did you expected. Oh and we are close to the bottom. And with bottoms is same as with tops. Is just a moment in time.

I do not know about your intentions, but I went into the crypto market with the intentions of long-term investments and do not expect a quick result. This is called directional collapse and speculation. The price has risen to such heights that massively many have thrown off and get the current result, and volatility has simply finished capitalization. It's too early to talk about this technology for the future.

Yes, I agreed with you mate, people now waiting for the result of ETF and if it is approved maybe there is a change of the price movement in the market and hopefully it will happen. There are positively side on this happening now maybe it will cut the bottom price and start to recover but no one knows just wait when the market recovers itself.

I am thinking positively, it is just a market cycle. I think it is not the first time to see crypto rates falling down. Just look at the historical graph. And now, It is rising gradually. Approaching the end of this year, positive signals for crypto rates begin to appear.

Recent market condition is not good because major coins prices are falling down. That’s why it is the best time to buy good projects because price will rise again.

Everyone is worried of this situation. Due to these kings of the market, all other altcoins are going down with every passing day, HBZ was started at 0.04$ now it is at 0.004@, MTC was at 0.54$ and now it is at 0.09$  :( :(

check back last two year crypto market, nobody know what is cryptocurrencies, compare with current bear market situation, early investor still earning profit from bitcoin and ethereum, big whole cash out and newbies start to invest in peak price, so current situation is market is stable right now and I don't think price will down again, the opposite of cryptocurrency holder will earn big profit at the end of 2018  :)

I guess it is really normal on bitcoin / crypto that there is a time that the market will really going to dip really bad, last year the same scene happen and i think this will be like that, let just believe on it and it will recover soon.

I dont know about Bitcoin and other, but about Ethereum, there is a rumor that project's team sold their Ethereum because they are afraid if Ethereum price keeps falling, so they convert it to USD. LOL.

The market is like a nightmare right now. The bloodbath happens to this market. All coins are experiencing the dropped price. No one can make it higher quickly. I'm sure that those coins need more time to increase as the early price. Moreover, many bad news are coming. It is not good. The prices time to time are very down. It is common for crypto platform but we don't consider the last year market because I am already analyse past five five years chart. This year many new things are happening in the market so no one predict the this year possibilities may be big influence is secretly working on background. So next year only we can find the good recover in market.

Based on this current situation it is really difficult to predict this coins will recover or not because most of the coin is suffering for price and I hope soon it will recover.

If coins from the ICO do not serve a purpose, they will not survive in the current market. There are many blockchain startup projects that have useless tokens that disappear now in this bear market. Only promising ones and those that serve real goals that will work and survive in the market and develop at the end of next year. The market is very bad. The holders are all losses. The best solution now is to sell your account and wait for the opportunity. We will take back what has been lost.

The market place is full of scammers and that causes such drastic scenario in market price of crypto. Maximum ico projects have turned out fraud this year and that immediately bears a negative impact on market.

I wish for that too that the market will turn around and we will be heading again for another bull run but then we should think of ways of how to increase our holdings with this bear market or at least lessen our losses by trading or buying more. Yes mate you're right, this is normal in crypto market cycles. Because if this keep coming high its hard for new investors to buy bitcoin or altcoin due to price value. Sometimes low price like this attacks investors to buy coin hoping that they will gain profit when bull run arrives.

 agreed . this current situation of cryptos is actually normal because this is not the first time that price  drop real hard and seems to be stagnant for months . infact , cryptos value is still better on this year when compared to the past years because the price do somehow improved  . for sure , cryptos value are still expected to grow more in the next few years because big companies are slowly implementing the use of cryptos from thier service and that can also drive more awareness to the public . .

Don't get panic about current situation. Buy more coins when the price fall. These fluctuations are common in the crypto market, now the price of all coins are very low. But in future surely the market will be so noisy with coins sold for best prices when the values go up. Till then hold the coins and wait with patience. Actually this was totally disgusting watching the market goes down everyday since this year comes. Yes this maybe a price correction but this is too much to suffer for almost a half a year of being down. Now the volume of the coins being transacted are low and once the volume of transactions increase then the prices will go back up

You say that when there will be an increase in the volume of transactions, then prices will increase ??? It seems to me that everything is quite the opposite, when the market recovers, i.e., the demand for coins will increase and prices will rise accordingly, then the price per transaction will increase and accordingly their volumes will increase too.

When it's a bull market, people feel like it will never stop going up. When it's a bear market, people feel like it will never stop going down. But both times, everything always equalizes. At the end of last year, I thought so too. I don't thought there will anything that can stop Crypto from rising. I think about the situation last year. I am really crazy. Yes, the huge bull makes me crazy.
This was really a very ridiculous thing, but it actually happend to most people.

I saw that although the exchange rate decreased it is important that trading volume is not reduced but also increased. It can be expected that by the end of 2018, the exchange rate of the cryptocurrency market will increase rapidly and exceed the rates of previous years.

Some people felt it was correction from all time price high of 2017. Some feel it is usual cryptocurrency changing season.  Whatever your position is,  the cryptocurrency market is in downtrend market and uptrend market will come eventually!

This is normal fall correction after such growth in the market. do not forget that the same ethereum fell 8 times but at the same time over the last year it has grown 300 times (from 5 dollars to 1500)

In my opinion, this is a temporary fall, because we have seen the same drops in the diagrams of the past years!

This crash is just part of the market cycle. The selling will eventually stop and start the next bull.

The reason why most of the potential coins are dropping is just because market are still unstable. But this is a normal situation because cryptocurrency is volatile, sometimes it goes up or down. Time will come that market and all coins will bounce back and rise again.

The market is become bearish after the series of FUD's that did happen last year together with the series of hacking of exchanges and scam projects making most of the crypto users to become panic of selling their crypto assets. Hopefully that it will be better now as we see the market performance slowly recovering this year.
